Leonardo has the title of being the most-Photoshop-like app. (by An_Apple_user on Fri, 09 Aug 2013 19:17:00)
Leonardo is a very good and impressive effort at a Photoshop clone for iPhone. I've bought many apps (including Adobe's own apps) that claim to do what Photoshop can do and none of them do. The [non-available] Photoforge2 app was the best one so far then but now Leonardo has the title of being the most-Photoshop-like app. Since this is a new app, it is missing a few critical items and some features need further adjustments, but I'm sure they'll be ironed out since the developer was receptive to my feedbacks. His words: "All these feedbacks from real users are keeping me busy and happy. Looking forward to provide a better experience with Leonardo in the upcoming updates." All in all, Leonardo is an excellent start at being a full blown professional photo editing app for iPhone.
Bad PSD resolution (by SpiritmanDave on Fri, 09 Aug 2013 18:21:00)
After emailing JPG and PSD files to myself and opening in Photoshop to check resolution I was surprised to find the resolution of the 2 layer PSD file to be considerably lower than the jpg although the file size was 7mg vs 1.7mg. This app has a fantastic interface and is an unbelievably great replica of Photoshop only to be crippled by its resolution shortcoming. Kudos to its designers! When you improve the res issue your gonna get 5 stars, well deserved!
Wow!!!! All this and 8+ MP Resolution (by kaphinga on Fri, 09 Aug 2013 15:47:00)
This is simply the most significant photo app to come out in a long time. Multiple layers, blend modes, and just about any image adjustment you can imagine .... It's all here. And it is all wrapped up in a beautiful interface! If you are serious about editing photos, you need this app. Leonardo can save at 8MP resolution on most devices. I have tested it on an iPhone 5' an iPad 4 and an iPad 2. You have to go into Settings (the '?' Icon on the home screen) and set it to High Resolution. On the iPad 4, the app supports better than 13MP resolution. For those who complain that high resolution is not full resolution, please note that Photoshop Touch caps the resolution at 12 MP, 1 MP lower than Leonardo on current hardware, and limits you to three layers. Leonardo allows 13.5 MP, and I was able to create a document with 15+ layers at that resolution. (I got bored and gave up after 15 layers; I still don't know what the layer limit is.) So ... I can name very few apps that are truly full resolution, and most certainly Photoshop Touch is not among them. (Not that I am knocking PS Touch; I actually like it very much for certain things.) Snapseed, Filterstorm and Photogene are the only three apps I know that can handle, for example, a 20 MP file. Anyhow, I am tired of nitpicking over pixels. I would rather be doing creative things with my 8 MP iPhone images ... And Leonardo allows me to do that just fine.
Impressive set of editing tools (by gillettd on Thu, 08 Aug 2013 23:21:00)
By far the best photo editing app on IOS. The layering tool is intuitive. Masking took a bit longer to learn but very controllable. So many ways to combine layers and images. Who needs photoshop. Or you can save to psd layers and keep editing. Way too cheap, get it now.
Love it, love it, love it (by Picnicmetoo on Thu, 08 Aug 2013 23:05:00)
Its what I've been waiting for for the Ipad since Ipad 1. I have Ipad 3, IOS 6.1.3. 3G/LTE. I'm a longtime user of PS and LR and this is the closest for mobile I've tried (and I have all the better apps). What can I say--masks, layers, filter, selection....saving in jpeg, psd or png. So far no issues and I've put it thru the mill today. I have a custom PC for photo processing for RAW but for uploads to Flickr or Pbase this is just terrific. I use an Adonit Jot for selections which works great with app for selections, masking. I'm a happy camper to say the least. Highly recommended.
Great app and tutorials (by DebbieF49 on Thu, 08 Aug 2013 19:04:00)
This app is terrific and easy, intuitive to use. But if you are not experienced with digital photo editing it might be even more valuable as a learning tool. The written and video tutorials are well done.
Most impressive photo editing app I've seen on iOS (by Passepartout on Thu, 08 Aug 2013 03:57:00)
The UI is a little inobvious, and the use of Times italic in the UI is puzzling, but this is a very solid application with a large subset of Photoshop color adjustments, filters, and FX ready to hand including curves, levels, masking, exposure adjustment, lots of sharpening and noise tools, and all of it very fast and interactive.

Just watched a few of the videos and I'm Blown away. Photoshop on steroids on my iPhone!
Dissappointing Resolution on iPad2 (by Techno-nut on Wed, 07 Aug 2013 21:40:00)
Considering the full resolution capabilities of the this developer's flagship photo apps, I was very disappointed to find my 12.1mp images saved to a mediocre resolution of 1725x2592 or 4.5mp. I saw the note aabout the iPhone4 res, but really, that means nothing to other idevice owners. As for PSD export, you have to use iTunes or e-mail the file; what a cludge. Why not a link to DropBox or some other more elegant solution, like "Open In...". In order to evaluate the PSD version, I e-mailed to my self, the PSD save of the same 12mp file saved to a JPG above, and then imported back into PSD Viewer on my iPad2 and it reports the image dimensions at 681x1024. Things are getting worse. I just read a review that said the iPad exports PSD at 4096x4096. Maybe the 3rd Gen version, but not the iPad2. Like most of the features borrowed from my personal favorite Photo Wizard app, they work fairly well. I am having some difficulty with some of the tools, e.g., clone stamp, etc., but I'll figure it out even if I have to watch the tuts. I am so dissapointed in the resolution, I am not sure whether the other layer features make up for it. I'll keep it around for a while, in hopes that the developer can improve upon the resolution.
Wow! (by N-girl on Wed, 07 Aug 2013 17:42:00)
Extremely powerful app with terrible, terrible typography on iPhone.
Still learning (by Verucas1 on Tue, 06 Aug 2013 21:30:00)
Still learning but so far so good!
No full resolution support 👎 (by -FallenAngel- on Tue, 06 Aug 2013 14:32:00)
I agree with Techno-nut, this app does not save images in full resolution (high res doesn't mean FULL res), deleted! Get Photoshop touch instead.
Needs full res option (by luna noire on Tue, 06 Aug 2013 14:02:00)
Very nice photo editing app with a ton of features and options. Much more user friendly than Laminar and Photoshop Touch. Ease of layering, applying effects, are great. Especially like the slider to control effects. Excellent work on creating this full featured photo editing app. This along with Snapseed, are the only ones I will need for immediate post-processing before I bring an image into another app. Two things I'd really like to see: Higher quality scans of the grunge border overlays. As is right now they are soft and blurred and unusable as is. They need to be higher res as they export extremely pixelated. Full res option. As others have noted, very high res is not full res,at least on my ipad 3 and iPhone 4S. Other than that so far, I am still experimenting with this app and like what it offers. Great deal at $2.
Very powerful editing app (by Alan.AZ on Sat, 03 Aug 2013 22:22:00)
I own and use quite a few high-end editing apps, but Leonardo is quickly becoming my favorite. Seems as if the developer has taken all the goodness of SuperImpose and PhotoWizard and combined it into this one comprehensive app. If you need selection and layering capability along with a "swiss army knife" of editors, then click buy now!
Awesome editing app! Karen L Messick (by KLM1307 on Sat, 03 Aug 2013 13:45:00)
Another wonderful processing app from the developer of SuperImpose and PhotoWizard. Quite possibly the best one yet for image editing on the iPhone!!
So well done! (by CarolynHallYoung on Fri, 02 Aug 2013 20:20:00)
This app, Leonardo, deserves its name. It is powerful, very flexible," and stunningly – very clear to use. Bravo for Leonardo! Thank you very much.
