TripIt - Travel Organizer (no ads) Review
Release Date: February 14, 2011
My Review (by Grandoland on Sat, 12 Apr 2014 17:31:00)
Was excited for this app. Although it does save on paper when you have to log in most entries manually (too many "action required for your trip it submission) it is less efficient than just printing your email confirmations and placing them I'm a folder.
I want my money back! (by vicmar78 on Fri, 11 Apr 2014 16:22:00)
I just bought this and can't get past the Sign Up. I get the same message every time: Something went wrong. Please try again. (500).
The perfect app (by SmilyShana on Mon, 14 Apr 2014 05:28:00)
My boyfriend and I are planning a trip to Boston, and as we're adding plans in and forwarding emails to the app he looks at me and says "Tripit might be the best app ever. I mean it's perfect!" I couldn't agree more. It's awesome! Thank you for building an app to keep everything all in one place.
Want to know your gate? (by banished on Sun, 13 Apr 2014 18:07:00)
If you do, this is NOT the app for you. By the time gate information shows up in the app, you better already be at the gate.
Used to be good, now it's horrible (by Bbm0n on Sun, 06 Apr 2014 06:23:00)
Itineraries don't populate. Flight and gate information bare. Use the airlines' app. This one is a waste of money.
Great travel app (by Herkbert on Sat, 05 Apr 2014 03:40:00)
Great app for travel planning and tracking. Have had good luck updating plans via upload without much manual entry. My one wish is that it would allow for cost tracking during the trip. Would take the place of having to manually track my costs or the need to use a separate app.
Completely disappointed in this app (by Deer hunter 71 on Fri, 28 Mar 2014 09:53:00)
What is the point of an app like this if it's not going to update and show delays, gate changes, etc. Complete waste of time and phone memory.
Handy. (by S.E.ADI on Wed, 26 Mar 2014 16:43:00)
I like this app: it does a much better job of handling multiple aspects of itinerary than, say, Passbook and its ilk. I love the feature that allows you to simply forward a confirmation ( from hotel, airline, etc.) as-is to Tripit and Tripit knows what it is (90% of the time) and stitches the summary from the confirmation into your itinerary. As they improve this engine, it will require less input on the 10% of exceptions. Download it. You'll like it.
DON’T BUY THIS! (by JohninMontereyCA on Wed, 19 Mar 2014 18:10:00)
This app is linked to the iFly Pro app which costs $4.99. I originally purchased the iFly app without knowing about this app, which REALLY what you are being asked to sign up for ($49 annual subscription fee).
What a joke! (by Tq1for on Tue, 11 Mar 2014 18:17:00)
I read the reviews and bought the app. Where it promised to help remove the necessity to reenter details form all trips into my calendars on the very first trip it did just this - forced me to reenter all the data over and over. Of course all around the reentry work were enticements to pay only $48 more for a "Pro" version. I wish I could give it a zero.
Love the new look (by Logoheadski on Tue, 11 Mar 2014 15:42:00)
Tripit is still my most used travel app. The new updates look great!
Clunky crasharama (by MustReason on Sun, 09 Mar 2014 17:09:00)
Crashes every 20 seconds. The interface is extremely cluttered and full of noise. Unintuitive controls and navigation. SMS registration fails to work. Needs a lot of work before it is ready for primetime.
Every traveler's friend! (by YOLO traveler on Sat, 08 Mar 2014 18:52:00)
I upgraded to the Pro app because I found TripIt to be so helpful. That I can forward email confirmations directly into the app assures accuracy (no mis-typed info) and eliminates the hassle of manually entering plans. It also provides immediate access to all elements of a trip, including maps & directions. I can then forward my itinerary to family and friends. Several have now connected to TripIt do that we can now network. Love this app!!!!
Great, useful App (by Aabcw on Sun, 09 Mar 2014 16:05:00)
Awesome app. New version crashes every time I try deleting a reservation that I changed. VERY ANNOYING.
Great app.. (by Pafuri9716 on Sat, 08 Mar 2014 03:51:00)
Good app, but a lot of space wasted by the map. A tile view by day would give a one screen view of the trip.
Love the new list view (by DeliGuy11 on Thu, 06 Mar 2014 20:15:00)
Good update, still my favorite travel app!
Woohoo! (by tecgirlious on Thu, 06 Mar 2014 16:59:00)
The new update is TOTALLY AWESOME! Thanks for listening.
Often wrong info (by Qwerty zzz on Wed, 05 Mar 2014 22:58:00)
Prime example is Delta 1189 this weekend. Delta says it departs 545. Trip it says 405. This has happened on more than one occasion. Can't trust it.
First time travel app user (by Pookiezombie on Tue, 04 Mar 2014 11:02:00)
I'm a basic user, so this app may have pitfalls I'm missing. However, I'm someone who forgets bookings (there are so many websites to remember!) and my gmail is as navigable and clear as the bayou. This app is a godsend, if only because it organizes every detail for me, since I am incapable of doing so myself.
pay $1 for app so you can pay $50 more for a subscription (by jaszzxz on Mon, 03 Mar 2014 00:29:00)
paid $1 only to be told the functionality i wanted is another $50 annually. Its too late for me, save yoursel
Awesome app that will make travel simple (by Claude Mueller on Mon, 24 Feb 2014 01:55:00)
Get it without ads, it is worth it
It makes complicated travel arrangements and reservations easy! (by Efussander on Fri, 21 Feb 2014 16:22:00)
TripIt rocks! I have to take complicated trips often involving more than one airline and several hotel, parking, and other reservations. Instead of juggling a stack of confirmations or standing at the counter trying to find that one stupid email that I need, I already have everything neatly and chronologically organized with TripIt. Just swipe, and you have all the info you need. Best of all, you don't have to spend an hour entering all the data into the app before a trip. You simply forward your emails to TripIt and it automatically recognizes the relevant data and organizes everything chronologically. I have never had it mess up or miss important info....it just works. Even with confirmations from foreign airlines with different formatting (as long as email is in English). It even has maps for around your hotel. For 99 cents you can't go wrong...the app is worth so much more.
Misses Calendar feature (by mjbrancato on Sun, 16 Feb 2014 13:56:00)
I miss the ability to add tripit events to a specific calendar. Adding it as subscribed doesn't let you sync with iCloud or reshare out calendar events. Great app, just disappointed in that feature being lost. It made my life really convenient, but now I have to manually add them in now (needs to look identical which can be time consuming). Thanks, Mike
Slow (by NYC Traveling Couple on Sat, 01 Feb 2014 13:03:00)
In general I like this app, but the latest release on iPad is slow and the navigation isn't at all intuitive. To really manage upcoming trips I have to use the desktop website and I don't carry that device with me! Please fix this!
Receiving Gate/Connection Alters AFTER Landing (by 13Robby on Fri, 31 Jan 2014 20:35:00)
TripIt Pro Alerts are supposed to tell you about gate changes before the airport screens, or at least before departure time, right?!? Well, for the third time I get connecting gate info AFTER the flight landed, hours after I really needed it. C'mon, TripIt, don't advertise services you won't deliver!
United point tracker? (by Abarbaccia on Mon, 27 Jan 2014 21:56:00)
It seems that some of my point programs are not showing up, like united. I believe it's just those that don't allow automatic updates...but it's very useful to have all your rewards numbers in one place. I would add them in.
Handy program, pretty intuitive (by KRCinKNOX on Mon, 27 Jan 2014 13:29:00)
I really like this program, and the app is just the icing on the cake. The simplicity of forwarding your email confirmation from an airline and having it auto load, then being able to send it back to myself in Outlook calendar format, what could be simpler? I'm not a "road warrior" but it handles my needs and more.
Kills it!!! (by Denver Cody on Tue, 14 Jan 2014 13:43:00)
A friend that travels a ton recommended I get this and boy was he right. It tracks all components of your trip - air, hotel, rental car. I think the best thing is the way you forward your email confirms from the air/hotel/car company to tripit and it automatically gets loaded to your itineraries. Awesome!!
Glitchy and unintuitive (by ajpalmer on Sat, 11 Jan 2014 21:19:00)
As a tripit pro member I'm very dissatisfied with the app. Just adding my flight itinerary has taken me over 30 mins before I have up. The app is very glitch and feels badly coded. Also the interface is needlessly confusing and not user friendly.
Weather (by Scooterdru on Fri, 03 Jan 2014 04:51:00)
Nice app, features are above par. Only thing missing is weather information.
Used to be a fan, but no more (by Paper_Queen on Wed, 01 Jan 2014 22:52:00)
I used to be a TripIt fan...when it worked. Not so much now, unfortunately (as a road warrior, I NEED these things to function properly). • The app icon shows a red "2" alert, but...no clue what the heck it's alerting me to. Nothing under "Alerts and Updates," nothing under "Seat Tracker," nothing anywhere. • The desktop version of TripIt is even worse. The subscription link stopped working on my MacBook Air in October. As of today, subscriptions stopped working on my phone (iPhone 5 running iOS7), iPad (iOS7), and my mother's MacBook (10.6.8). Won't work in iCloud subscriptions; won't work as a local subscription. • Customer service has been abysmal. Even though the problems are Mac-related, they continue to provide PC-only "solutions" that have nothing to do with Apple. I've been paying for the Pro version for years, but am about to cancel. There *must* be a better option out there that actually works.
Scam (by Flemmo London on Wed, 25 Dec 2013 00:35:00)
I paid 99 cents for this app and then learned that they will charge me $49 annually for Pro.
Woohoo! (by tecgirlious on Thu, 19 Dec 2013 16:09:00)
The new update is TOTALLY AWESOME! Thanks for listening.
Add the weather (by Rockwall Flyer on Thu, 19 Dec 2013 15:17:00)
This would be a five star app if you add weather overlay to map. This feature would make this the one go to travel app.
No sync (by Longnamedatttshopefullynottaken on Thu, 19 Dec 2013 08:56:00)
No longer allows flighttrack to sync. Please pay me extra to unlock your prior five star functionality.
Wonderful app (by Sasirekha Y on Mon, 16 Dec 2013 03:34:00)
This manages my trips, sends me alerts and guides me through out journey. All frequent travelers should use this.
Nice travel organizer (by UpChucky on Tue, 10 Dec 2013 09:07:00)
This is a good app for organizing travel plans but I'm not sure it is worth what they ask for the pro version.
App has flaws (by Winstonscorpius on Fri, 06 Dec 2013 16:20:00)
As many have stated, travel info very often doesn't synch. Would NOT recommend .
Used to be a great app (by Jim Burns on Sun, 01 Dec 2013 11:28:00)
Trip It what happened? This used to be a rock solid travel app and now with the latest update it's become buggy, slow and the forwarded email itineraries no longer properly load into the app. I have 3 trips just this week and itineraries from Delta, Marriott, and Hertz loaded with the wrong date, wrong city. Critical information for a travel app to get wrong. Additionally, the app used to connect to flight tracker pro which is seemingly no longer the case. Poor decision. I've flown over 43,000 miles this year so far and had used this app all along the way but will be removing it from my phone and look for a better travel app. I do like the new look, it's pretty but not much else. I would suggest that potential users look elsewhere for a travel app worthy of carrying on your iPhone.
Love this app (by berkeley_trader on Mon, 25 Nov 2013 23:24:00)
How doth I love thee, let me count the ways Organizer Simple Easy Fast Accurate Fun Friendly Go to tool Bet travel organizer on the App Store Wish it would integrate with Mobidata's Flighttrack again...
Once Was Nice (by estoughton on Sun, 24 Nov 2013 16:49:00)
This was a nice app and service, but unfortunately they have removed the ability to sync to FlightTrack, making it much worse for flights.
Awful (by New 2do no good on Sat, 23 Nov 2013 11:23:00)
Now that they discontinued the syncing feature for flight track pro this app went down the toilet. Bad move. Lost me as a customer!!!!
No sync (by Longnamedatttshopefullynottaken on Fri, 22 Nov 2013 22:47:00)
No longer allows flighttrack to sync. Please pay me extra to unlock your prior five star functionality.
Permanent companion (by Arneman on Wed, 20 Nov 2013 22:03:00)
Permanent companion during travel, sync with flighttrack and ical. Beautiful App with great functionality!
A great way to stay organized (by Brettinto on Sun, 17 Nov 2013 20:55:00)
Does a great job of keeping things organized. Even when I had made three separate bookings for one trip (flight, hotel and car rental), Trip it was smart enough to group everything together.
Awesome (by AbqSlim1 on Sun, 17 Nov 2013 13:13:00)
Love it. My favorite travel app is still FlightTrack Pro because it ultimately has more info but this app has better presentation and works very well. Definitely recommend.
Great Alp, especially overseas use (by Nmarco85 on Thu, 14 Nov 2013 22:14:00)
Very happy with this app and I have tripit pro, love the functionality and tracking of tickets and flight times. Syncing with flight tracker app is very useful as well. Definitely recommend!
SucksApp (by vidgameguy on Wed, 13 Nov 2013 22:45:00)
Worthless app. It has never, ever "found" one of my trips even though my company uses Concur for travel. Even though I entered all the emails my itinerary is sent to. Completely worthless application and I recommend not installing and for god sake don't pay to upgrade.
Did not know there is another charge (by Kate2345 on Wed, 13 Nov 2013 18:38:00)
They want another $49 for a subscription.
Total rip off.... (by Dweb44 on Mon, 11 Nov 2013 20:24:00)
The app syncs with our work booking system just fine. The part that stinks is you have to pay 49$ per yr to see arrival and departure information. Gimme a break. No chance
TripIt - Travel Organizer (no ads) Review from 51th to 100th
Great for planning our trip! (by www4 on Wed, 06 Nov 2013 02:08:00)
Love the ability to email Tripit flights and reservation emails for auto import!
Thanks for listening (by ifyouwillit on Sun, 03 Nov 2013 22:26:00)
A quick note to say great app. Thanks for listening to feedback on load screens in the most recent version. The new updates bring the app back to highly usable and a must buy A+
Woohoo! (by tecgirlious on Wed, 30 Oct 2013 14:21:00)
The new update is TOTALLY AWESOME! Thanks for listening.
Kayak integration (by DriveThro on Wed, 30 Oct 2013 08:38:00)
Perfect app and my go to app for traveling. I wish if it had capability to book flight/train tickets and hotel reservation .. Then i wouldn't use Kayak/booking At all and this would be my only app to use for traveling and while raveling
Amazing app!!! (by DickyAdams on Wed, 30 Oct 2013 04:57:00)
Favorite app to manage my travel itinerary. Easy!
Downgrade! (by BBH67 on Mon, 28 Oct 2013 10:22:00)
I've knocked it down 2 stars due to ANNOYING card updates constantly. Previous rating I do like this as its quick and easy to forward email confirmations and it organizes your itinerary. It however does not deal with updates well and would be ideal to forward multiple emails from air, auto & hotel at once and have it done in one email as opposed to forwarding multiple emails. It would great to have a section & reminder to put in TSA wait times to alert you to leave to the airport early, etc. it would be user driven but useful to plan with. Even sending average wait times based on departure would be great. Otherwise, good app.
Used To Be Good (by grecpod on Mon, 28 Oct 2013 00:34:00)
The TripIt iphone app used to be good, but the latest update ruined it. I hate the "updating cards" message every few seconds...
This app once was good (by david4ndt on Sun, 27 Oct 2013 10:26:00)
This was one of my most useful apps I had. I travel weekly. It is now a pain. It automatically decides to start and add to current trips. It decides wrong and does not give you a clear way correct. It resend alters which have been reviewed and closed. If this is not corrected soon I will delete this app.
Good looking, but SLOW (by Mikemahon on Tue, 22 Oct 2013 22:28:00)
I have been a long time user. I still rely on it, but please background update the travel cards. STOP doing it when I open the app. If I have slow internet I can't tell a cabbie where to drive me because the app is loading. Please fix immediately.
Redesign crippled this app (by nairbd on Tue, 22 Oct 2013 15:13:00)
Used to be a solid app that worked. After the redesign, get used to seeing the "Updating cards" screen. App is slow & almost unusable. Long time TripIt user, now looking for alternatives since the app is so bad.
Updating cards (by J Doggggggggg on Tue, 22 Oct 2013 00:15:00)
The updating cards feature takes too long and should really be done in the background.
Faded glory (by caa100 on Sat, 19 Oct 2013 23:40:00)
Once upon a time, this app was fast and convenient. Now it is slow to refresh, cumbersome to navigate, and prone to crash. A shame, as I had come to rely on TripIt as my main repository of trip info.
Was great, then came the update... (by spitcool on Sun, 13 Oct 2013 19:07:00)
I purchased this app awhile ago and it had made my constant travel and organization so easy. However, ever since the "update," I've stopped using it. Going places with no or poor data service around the world, the app becomes simply unusable. Even when I'm domestic using LTE or wifi, the "updating cards" routine made the app so slow and unusable that I just keep everything in a text file on my phone now. TripIt, cache everything locally and update in THE BACKGROUND if you want to keep your users!
Can I Get A Refund? (by Cowpotpi3 on Sat, 12 Oct 2013 18:12:00)
Since the "upgrades" this app is a pile of burning garbage. I've sent new itineraries repeatedly and it won't process them. Concur your company is a joke and I'd like the $50 you idiots charge for Pro back. I don't have time to deal with your pathetic time wasting app.
Update is maddeningly slow and clumsy (by EdiPhone on Sat, 12 Oct 2013 06:22:00)
The basic, crucial purpose of an app like Tripit is to quickly and reliably give you access to your important, previously downloaded travel details at a moment's notice with minimal hassle, interruptions or delays so that you will catch your flight or train or hovercar ride when the minutes and seconds matter. The most recent update fails in this central task. It fails because you launch the app and a grey, uninterruptible message box with "Updating Cards" shows up and spins for many seconds while your train gets ready to pull away and you struggle to look up your ticket confirmation code. This uninterruptible, un-cancelable overlay that covers the information you care about shows up not just once but several times during a simple information look-up session. And after over a week of using the app I still don't understand what the new cards are, why they are useful to me, or why it is important to repeatedly interrupt my ability to use the application for up to 30 seconds at a time. It also fails because the current navigation system is mystifying and obtuse. Instead of the previously simple list of trips drilling down to travel items, there are now left and right scrolling views, scrolling "trip cards" and an unnecessary "Upcoming Item" view which is unnecessary, gets in the way and is not useful due to the often random ordering of hotel times that Tripit does. To the developers - please return the application to a useful state by bringing back the simple list of trips and plans that open quickly, reliably with *zero* interruptions.
Annoying (by CarolinUpstateNY on Fri, 11 Oct 2013 19:38:00)
This mobile app does not tell you what gate/terminal your flight arrives at or leaves from. It does not tell you which company you are getting your rental car from. Maybe Tripit Pro does; they are always offering me a trial. But since I always need to look up my original bookings anyway to get essential info, I won't bother.
Scam app (by Refill patient on Fri, 11 Oct 2013 15:13:00)
In order to do anything other than list a trip on the calendar .. It's 50 bucks! No thanks!
Update runs slow (by Ummm nummm on Fri, 11 Oct 2013 11:34:00)
The old version ran faster in the update is very slow. Usually I need this app to open right away because I need information such as a confirmation number quickly. Instead of seeing the necessary information I usually see an icon that says "updating cards". This has made the app frustrating to use now. If you can fix this it would be helpful.
Amazing app!!! (by DickyAdams on Fri, 11 Oct 2013 00:07:00)
Favorite app to manage my travel itinerary. Easy!
Redesign is Slow & Disfunctional (by TypeMRT on Thu, 10 Oct 2013 19:10:00)
The redesigned TripIt is not the easy-to-use, dependable app that it used to be. Now it's slow and difficult to use. When I'm traveling I need to be able to get to itinerary quickly & reliably. The previous version was able to handle 10-20 annual upcoming & shared trips with no problem. If you're a frequent or business traveler DO NOT upgrade to this new version. Slow: Every time you launch the app you wait at least 10 seconds while it's "updating cards". It takes so long that you think there's something wrong with your phone or network. Disfunctional: The initial view is the card view of your trip's next item. It's a useful way to view each item in your itinerary but if you keep swiping to the left you'll end up in the following trip (but not shared trip) with no warning. Next, tapping to reveal the list of trips and then choosing a trip brings you to the familiar list view of your itinerary, but there's no way to go directly to the card view from there. Don't swipe left in that view either - you may accidentally delete part of your trip. I'd rather the default start page be the list of trips UNLESS it's during the timeframe of my actual trip. Then it would be more useful to start in the individual card view.
Nice App (by estoughton on Tue, 08 Oct 2013 15:54:00)
This is a nice app, with a nice update.
Constantly "updating cards " (by the shapps on Tue, 08 Oct 2013 08:43:00)
Ugh. This new version is constantly updating the cards (syncing with the cloud) and is frozen the entire time. They should be able to update the cards in the background. Instead, when you open the app you must wait for a long time while the app updates the cards. It's really lame.
Terrible "Upgrade" (by nmortho on Sat, 05 Oct 2013 23:39:00)
New card format is slow and unusable. Constantly refreshing takes way too long. Previous version tons better!
Love the new look (by Logoheadski on Thu, 03 Oct 2013 16:11:00)
The new card interface is great! I used it on my trip this week and it was really helpful to have the reservation info I needed at my fingertips at the time I needed it. Love Tripit!
Good app downgraded (by amop on Wed, 02 Oct 2013 23:40:00)
Was happy until this update: now very slow, constant refreshes that don't seem to do anything. Feels bloated. Also wish I could turn off the notifications...too many.

Terrible new version, refreshing is unnecessary (by sffoodie11 on Mon, 30 Sep 2013 14:56:00)
This update for ios7 is awful. Anytime I launch the app or try to view another "card" the app "refreshes cards" even though nothing has changed. It means that for 10 seconds or more, I cannot view my trip data. This is terrible when I am opening the app simply to check the address of the hotel when I am a block away because by the time it loads I will have passed the hotel! Also, it handles notes terribly. I can't view my entire note, just the first few lines. My first item in my trip is a note and the only way to view it is to back out of the trip, show the new trip and view the note, refreshing for 10+ seconds each tap, and then I can only see the first few lines in the note. If I leave the app, I have to go through that all over again. It is useless. It also removed an important feature of adding a new item or event.

Very convenient and allows me to keep all travel info in one place!
Crashes on launch (by Jmossinca on Fri, 27 Sep 2013 18:08:00)
I'm sure the new Tripit is nice, but until you fix the app to work properly, I'll never know.
Ven (by Ven Nilva on Fri, 27 Sep 2013 02:24:00)
I used to be World Mate user many years, but it is nothing competitive to Trip it. I'm frequent traveller and don't even understand how to handle all my trip without Trip it app.
A total dog (by Lekun on Tue, 24 Sep 2013 23:02:00)
Technically this app fails miserably under ios7. Apple previewed and allowed developers to get their hands on iOS 7 back in June. This app should have been updated to function by now. Functionally the email parser I use to create trips struggles mightily. I find no use for this app. Maybe if you pay $50 a year for pro it does worthwhile things. But for that price you better be a serious traveller.
Perfect before the recent update (by akwest on Sun, 22 Sep 2013 21:09:00)
I have been a devoted user of this app and felt the $50 was worth it. I travel almost every week and this app has been fantastic up until the recent update. Now the app is incredibly slow- constantly updates, crashes a lot and you can't even see most of the lodging info. I would wait to purchase until they fix the significant bugs. Once fixed, I will up the stars.
Unstable - don't buy the subscription either (by Michael Hall on Sat, 21 Sep 2013 19:56:00)
This app is a total waste of money. Highly unstable. You can't pull up flights based on confirmation numbers???? Wrong departure cities posted when you manually add the flight number. Constantly crashing, highly unstable. Also have a flight in which the departure time has changed twice and had to manually update. These are things I expected the high falutin $48 subscription fee to handle. Buyer beware. These are the biggest ripoff artists ever!!!!!!
Good app, but needs a few improvements (by 131mon on Mon, 16 Sep 2013 15:42:00)
I use trip it primarily for business travel and I find it to be one of the most convenient apps for managing itineraries. Don't think twice about downloading this app, it's the way to go! I will however share a few shortcomings I feel need to be resolved to bring TripIt over the top to a 5-star rating. 1) when giving the option for pulling up a hotel (or any other address) on a map, it really needs to give options to pull it up in other map apps such as google or waze. The only option it provides is to give directions in apple maps which many people don't even use. 2) I'm not sure if its intended to be this way or if its just a bug but whenever I tap on my current itinerary, it takes me directly to the next segment of my trip instead of showing me all segments which is usually what I'm looking for. I have to go into the trip then back one to see it all. This one isn't such a big deal but if there was a way to change this in the apps settings, that would be nice. Those are my two only complaints. Other than that, I highly recommend the app. I love that tripit offers a feature where you can sync it via email. My corporate travel website gives you the option to automatically share itineraries with TripIt which is great so I don't have to do it manually each time. It also very nicely lays out your whole trip and all upcoming trips. Definitely download!
Use it for every trip (by Ariel Jackson on Sat, 14 Sep 2013 00:27:00)
I did a three month trip to Italy using this app, thats 16 cities, tons of train tickets, museum reservations, and i never missed a beat.
Total Waste of Money (by tmoody1958 on Sun, 08 Sep 2013 05:47:00)
I paid the $50 annual subscription fee expecting I would get something more than I what the Flight Update, Flight Tracker, or Flight Status applications offer without an annual subscription. Save yourself the $50 annual fee and purchase one of the previously mentioned applications.
Garbage (by Jimmy Shanghai on Sun, 08 Sep 2013 03:04:00)
Paid $50 for upgrade - now it's .99 - these guys are ripoff artists - this app is a total scam, it does less when you buy it and promises features that don't exist - absolute garbage - I wrote a review and they took down the $50 app and stuck up the .99 one DON'T let these guys rip you off - Apple should boot these guys out of the store, total crooks
Apple Maps in App? (by adamwhiteley on Sat, 07 Sep 2013 03:18:00)
Love Tripit and its indispensable online planner - I use for annual holidays, business trip and simple routing along with the iOS app companion I never miss a connection. BUT I don't understand why Tripit uses google map on its website with its excellent routing information but had to use Apple Maps (which only supports driven routes) in its iOs - a shame

A great app for Road Warriors (by SteveDM2010 on Wed, 04 Sep 2013 01:02:00)
A friend recommended this app and it was easy to set up and even easier to use. I can keep track of all of my trips with one app in one place.
Love it (by Baumgee on Wed, 28 Aug 2013 19:28:00)
If you travel a lot this is a must have! Worth the money
Can't find the photos I posted (by Tigre318 on Tue, 27 Aug 2013 08:47:00)
I used to like this app. I spent one entire day creating a trip for my family and when I shared it with them, the pictures were missing. I used to be able to see the photos😩
It would be nice if it knew where you were going (by Broncobecca on Sat, 24 Aug 2013 20:24:00)
All my reservations are for Lancaster,PA. Get an email today from tripit talking about CA. A huge panic goes on but no, it's tripit who can't figure out where you are going. Amazing
Meh. (by TrainsBoston on Wed, 21 Aug 2013 23:03:00)
Don't bother. It's more work than it's worth and the product delivers so little for your efforts.
So intuitive - makes the stress of traveling a bit lighter! (by Stephinaners on Sat, 17 Aug 2013 09:48:00)
I love this app. It makes keeping all my trips organized so incredibly easy. Before I constantly had to search my email, especially if I needed to forward an itinerary. But through the app I can easily do everything I need and get helpful information. I rarely am this excited about an app but I really love this!
I LOVE this app!!! (by Whyspeer on Tue, 13 Aug 2013 06:08:00)
My husband & I are planning a trip in the RV & this app is awesome. Everything we're going to need in one place. It was well worth the $$. Keep up the good work guys, love it!!
TripIt - Travel Organizer (no ads) Review from 101th to 150th
Pro version is worthless (by wanderfocus on Sat, 10 Aug 2013 04:19:00)
Paid for pro version only to find out later that it does not track points for many major airlines. Waste!!!
Useful app (by DJaBdr on Tue, 06 Aug 2013 23:32:00)
I don't usually write reviews but was puzzled by strong negative reviews. While not perfect, this app is remarkably easy to use and quite good for organizing trip info. I've used it four times now for complicated trips. Keeps all info together and easy to share with family. Has saved time and cut down on pile of printouts I need to haul with me. No need to search thru emails to find confirmation numbers etc. automatic fill in of flight and train info, while not always available, is handy.
Misleading (by Fabian4hollywood on Mon, 05 Aug 2013 08:03:00)
Topical app doesn't function accordingly , can't impute points of interest or notes or places to stop without making an itinerary , I wish I could get my .99 cents back .
Great tool for travel (by kosmo10s on Sun, 04 Aug 2013 02:03:00)

Do you travel? (by MWD67 on Tue, 30 Jul 2013 03:55:00)
If you are a frequent traveler this app is a must have! I don't think I can live without it. It has saved me time, money and frustration.
Didn't update my flight change (by David Howie on Sun, 28 Jul 2013 18:14:00)
I'd give this app zero stars if I could. Here's the deal: Delta changed my July 31 outbound flight from DCA at least a couple of weeks ago. I found out because my wife was doing some pre-trip planning and told me our flight was leaving over three hours earlier than I had recalled. I checked delta.com and confirmed. Then I checked tripit.com (Pro version)--no update. That was a couple of weeks ago. Today I received an email from tripit that all signs were go, but they would continue to monitor for schedule changes. As of three minutes ago, my old flight info was still showing as current on tripit. What a load. This will be the last time I use this app.
Totally worth it! (by CT TKD mom on Sun, 21 Jul 2013 16:04:00)
Full disclosure: I'm a simple traveler- usually road trips, college visits or kids competition. I am not using the Pro version I found this app be useful in keeping trip organized; freeing me from searching email for or printing confirmations. The one thing I would change is to have the email address for sending itinerary info to the app displayed within the app. I would recommend to friends.
Tripitaka (by Garcarca on Thu, 18 Jul 2013 10:54:00)

Better late than never??? (by wadepc on Thu, 18 Jul 2013 05:01:00)

Must have (by M502016 on Wed, 17 Jul 2013 03:05:00)
If your travel you need trip pro! Combines all my airline, hotel and rental car web site info into one easy to use app. After the phone and Email functions, this is the most useful app on my my iPhone. Great job!
Love it! (by DeborahHouston on Mon, 15 Jul 2013 21:12:00)
Love the Pro version of this app. Shared trips and calendar sync make it easy and convenient to use.
Doesn't deliver (by WineloverJ on Mon, 15 Jul 2013 18:23:00)
I got this app for an upcoming trip. I have not been able to even open the app on my phone! I have to access the site in my web browser to see my info. I tried to ask customer service but no response after 4 days. Completely unsatisfied.
Tripit (by Fvypoi on Sat, 13 Jul 2013 14:07:00)
Ap seems to have bugs and difficult to edit. Default time zone is GMT can shuffle the sequence of events. Other travel aps are friendlier and better design.
Pretty good so far (by DaRemster on Fri, 12 Jul 2013 11:49:00)
Have so far added 2 trips - one for business and a summer vacation with the family. One thing is missing under the various categories is the airport parking reservation. Just appears as a note. Would be nice to add in future version as I always pre-book parking due to the high costs of paying at the gate.
Too confusing for words. (by Old thumbs. on Sun, 07 Jul 2013 12:19:00)
Useless for going to Canada. Sent a confirmation from Canadian hotel October 3 and trip it converted it to March 10.
Great app (by Joe1227 on Sat, 06 Jul 2013 17:02:00)
I downgraded you two stars because the email address you have to mail your itinerary to is so non intuitive I can never remember it. Downgraded an additional star because on my last two trips your email alerts were late and inaccurate. Twice you have told me I was going to miss my connecting flight.
Don't buy (by Calculus is cool on Wed, 03 Jul 2013 02:51:00)
This is not what I thought it would be. I want to organize already known trip information and that didn't even seem to be an option.
Airline pilot review (by NEED HELP ALSO on Sun, 30 Jun 2013 14:09:00)
After reading the negative reviews I was apprehensive about purchasing this app; after using it I was confused by the negative reviews. As a professional traveller I am comfortable, if not qualified, to give this app a high rating. We are planning a family vacation in Hawaii this summer and Tripit will replace all the paper documents that I am accustomed to needing on my flights. One hotel that we booked required three confirmation letters for our three rooms; instead of entering all the information three times, Tripit allowed me to add three photos of the confirmation letters to the hotel information page. The flight information was automatically added when I entered the airline code (i.e. DL for Delta) and a flight number. Tripit will also automatically check for airline flight changes! I do not believe in giving a 5 star rating (and I seldom read them) so that is why the 4 star rating, the highest on my scale. Buy the app, if you're serious you'll love it!
Not actually the Pro version! (by DrDiek on Fri, 28 Jun 2013 05:59:00)
Wasted $0.99 on this app because of inaccurate description making me think it was the Pro version. Nope! That's another $50. I wish I could get my $0.99 back!!
Super App (by nickdiamond on Fri, 28 Jun 2013 02:56:00)
I'm not the guy that writes app reviews. In general, I'm an app hater. But this app is downright awesome. I would rep it for sure!
Useless (by Edu P. on Mon, 24 Jun 2013 16:30:00)
Don't pay. Useless. Every great feature costs 50 dollars per years. So why pay for that?!
Paying gets you nothing (by SplntrCelSpdrMnFn on Mon, 24 Jun 2013 01:17:00)
Features I thought I'd receive for paying actually require an additional $50 annual subscription.
What's the point? (by Junebugmom on Sun, 23 Jun 2013 02:04:00)
I bought this hoping it would help me keep my award miles organized. Come to find out that feature is only for the pro version which costs $50 a year! So basically the app will keep a record of my itinerary? I can do that with an email. Such a waste of a dollar!
Never leave home without it (by UVAVol on Sat, 22 Jun 2013 21:04:00)
Now I want to travel more since the details are handled so well by tripit.
Tripit for travel (by Dccampfin on Wed, 19 Jun 2013 14:04:00)
Found this app indispensable. Love that while uploads and syncs need online connectivity, it keeps sufficient days on my phone so traveling without connectivity can still see nearly everything. Go Tripit!
A must for the frequent traveler (by Yahtzee player on Tue, 18 Jun 2013 20:46:00)
I don't know how it does it - but it is amazing. Fast and so far 100% accurate! Completely worth paying for the yearly subscription just so I don't have to email family my travel details - tripIt sends to them automatically!
Boo hoo (by spiteandmalice on Tue, 18 Jun 2013 19:03:00)
Definitely does not have all the things for a trip to be complete. I would not have purchased if I knew but it does not give you a lot of info to decide.
Works good for me (by A79cmro67 on Thu, 13 Jun 2013 18:00:00)
Only issue I have is the points tracker does not have Southwest Airlines in it. Other then that it works great.
Good app, could be better (by no1u_no on Wed, 12 Jun 2013 03:15:00)
Very useful for keeping all your reservations together and sharing with friends and family. Yes, you can track multi-stop trips in one place, but for longer trips I wish the past info would be hidden so that only current and future info is shown when you open the trip -- perhaps an automatic scroll to the current date so you can still scroll either up to past info or down to future info. This would be very helpful in the iPhone app in particular.
Absolutely useless! (by CarrieIs2Cool on Mon, 10 Jun 2013 23:42:00)
No matter how many times I email my itineraries, they DO NOT SYNC!! What is the purpose of this app if every time I open it, it says, 'You have no trips'?! What a waste!!
Unwanted Ad in supposed pro version (by Nevek_LA on Fri, 07 Jun 2013 03:50:00)

Wouldn't travel without TripIt (and TripIt Pro)! (by nctechnologeek on Fri, 31 May 2013 17:23:00)
Over a year with TripIt and re-up'd the Pro version. Worth it. This and FlightBoard are my indispensable travel apps.
Don't do it (by calioch on Wed, 29 May 2013 19:14:00)
Waste of money. It only pulls trips from Travel Leaders. Doesn't pull from direct book through airlines. They want almost $50 a year for the full version. Had I known I would not have purchased. This was a waste of money. I'm very disappointed and feel like it was deceptive to charge for something other than the full version. Disappointing.
Functional but lacking (by Veezeez on Fri, 24 May 2013 06:30:00)
I pad for the full app. While it is functional in that you can see your trips, the app isn't capable of anything else. I must say that the design is also pretty bland: 1. The colours are monochrome 2. There are extra spaces everywhere. Why have tabs that are each 1/5 of the screen and only have 3 of them? 3. The pro features are very much in your face, regardless of whether you are a subscriber or not. Fixing this is a simple matter of inserting if statements, something that the app designer failed to do. Overall, the quality if this app is more along the lines of casual hobbyist, as opposed to core mobile interface for a product.
Useful (by Daniel Marconi on Sun, 19 May 2013 01:02:00)
The app is useful, but limited without a $50/year membership. Disabled functionality is an advertisement. It's an ad for the app creator, but an ad none the less. I paid to not have advertisements.
Best travel app (by MoBeezy1 on Sun, 19 May 2013 00:24:00)
I'm a business traveler and this app is perfect across all platforms for me to keep track off all my points trips and schedules. Thank you for this amazing app. Highly rated and a must have for the frequent or even casual traveler.
Very good! (by Kingbingo1 on Fri, 17 May 2013 21:35:00)
An itinerary can be pulled together if you arrange a whole trip in one place like Travelocity or Expedia. But there have been numerous times that I would go to different sources. This is where this app comes in real handy. In mere minutes, this app reads confirmation emails and creates a single itinerary from various sources. I was wowed. I got the pro version so that I can also track my award points. This app would have gotten 5 stars if I were able to track United and American. But they don't at this time. Maybe because US Airways and American are merging, I don't know. Hopefully, they will in future releases.
Pretty Solid (by BenFlynn on Thu, 16 May 2013 02:46:00)
Organizes trips well. Sharing seems to be broken on my iPhone -- when I select a contact it tells me it doesn't have a valid email address. Otherwise a handy app.
Excellent, (by Lagunalaker on Wed, 15 May 2013 06:45:00)

Tripit (by Daretodazzle on Sat, 11 May 2013 06:11:00)

Wow! (by Naruto449 on Sat, 11 May 2013 05:43:00)
I was so impressed with this app, I woke my significant other in the wee hours to show off how well it worked. Forwarded emails from airlines, hotels, etc with no editing or identification other than my email address as the sender. Seconds later, a full itinerary with maps appeared in the app. Again--wow!

Good App (by FOLKHERO2007 on Thu, 02 May 2013 02:39:00)

Can't delete trips (by willowbenddrive on Tue, 30 Apr 2013 16:36:00)
Extremely annoying. It put ALL my trips into outlook with daily tags showing the trip (so 7 times for 7 days) and NO WAY to delete these out of outlook (doesn't come with a DELETE along bottom of reminder like ALL other calendar reminders do)! Deleted app and it didn't fix it, then went online and cancelled my paid account @ it didn't delete it. Now I booked a new flight & even with a CANCELLED DELETED account it still put it every day of the trip in my calendar. And of course, email support has NEVER responded. Terrible decision to try this faulty app. They deserve a ZERO but I was afraid zero stars wouldn't get counted.

Paid but plenty of ads (by TT Bird on Wed, 24 Apr 2013 15:35:00)
This is a good app, however I paid for no ads and there are plenty of ads. I also wish you could change icons easier. For instance if you don't pick "rail" or "hotel" you can't change the icon later on the ipad. It shows a generic icon. You should be able to click on the icon to change it. There are a lot of emails they don't recognize that you have to manually put in.

No refund with iTunes purchase (by TravelJones on Mon, 15 Apr 2013 12:55:00)
I signed up for the trial basis and was disappointed because it would not enter data from emails when booked through a third party such as Travelocity. When I tried to cancel in the 30-day window, I learned there are no refunds for purchases made thru iTunes.
Like magic (by FreakenFlyer on Thu, 11 Apr 2013 04:26:00)

Travel arrangements may be imputed manually or just let Tripit do it on it's own by pulling arrangements out of your email account. It updates itself automatically including flight info. Just returned from 10 days on the road to Las Vegas. It worked very, very well.
Pretty Good (by BBH67 on Fri, 08 Mar 2013 17:19:00)
I do like this as its quick and easy to forward email confirmations and it organizes your itinerary.
Kailu, Oahu vs Kailu-Kona, Hawaii (by Snow-Days on Tue, 05 Mar 2013 21:22:00)
Just purchased this evening. Trying to put itinerary in for our trip to Hawaii. We are going to be staying in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii but when I pick this as our destination the pin shows up in Kailu, Oahu. A BIG problem since this is two separate islands. They need to fix !!!
Great app (by Joe1227 on Sun, 03 Mar 2013 23:53:00)
I downgraded you two stars because the email address you have to mail your itinerary to is so non intuitive I can never remember it.
So excellent! (by BriLeigh85 on Sun, 03 Mar 2013 05:51:00)
Wow, this is my favourite app. It takes a lot of worry and stress out of making sure I've got all my plans correct. I'm taking a big trip in a month that consists of several flights and hostel stays in an unfamiliar country- this keeps it so organized (and even includes directions between stops!) highly recommend.
Awful re itinerary changes (by Abaco Joe on Sat, 02 Mar 2013 07:51:00)
If you revise your itinerary, before or after your initial departure, and send the revised itinerary to Tripit, it fails to simply replace the original with a revised version. Instead, it invites you to edit each changed item manually, a huge PITA, especially for a long, complicated itinerary. Can't it simply replace the original with a revised itinerary?
Amazing (by Fggjsnsjs on Fri, 01 Mar 2013 19:28:00)

Works well (by Dkellyrn on Fri, 01 Mar 2013 03:50:00)

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY (by Norcalpaw on Thu, 28 Feb 2013 05:46:00)

When I change airlines for the same day I do not get the updated flight added to my itinerary, even though I email the updated Trip. I routinely change from Southwest to United get a better schedule. The United flights do not show up Tripit. Very bothersome.

It is ridiculous that in order to share trip details with friends or family they need the app to view. Otherwise great app.
Great. (by jmarshall76 on Mon, 25 Feb 2013 11:55:00)
Excellent app when teamed with the Pro subscription. I can give my with or others view access to see my schedule and all my flight, hotel, and car reservations are all in one place. Book your trip through wherever and forward the confirmation email/s to trip it. They do the rest! Flight info, gate changes, etc are all pushes right to you. I use this app all the time!
Valuable tool (by Kalohe65 on Sat, 23 Feb 2013 23:55:00)
I love this app! It took a little playing with it to figure out how to organize and categorize trips but it was worth it. I love how it automatically imports reservations to the app from my email accounts. That way I have everything in one place, airlines, hotels, car rentals. I can even check in through the app and cancel car reservations as well! I love It, love it, LOVE IT!
Difficult (by Butano LL on Sat, 23 Feb 2013 04:57:00)
I can't seem to be able to plan more than one trip at a time. Only able to "add" to the one trip I've entered. It would be nice to enter separate info for each trip. Maybe it's available in the PRO version. Money talks! It is nice how the app enters the flight info with just the name of the airline and flight #. It still seems that a "plan another trip" button should be available.
Helps me a lot (by Garedd on Sun, 10 Feb 2013 04:55:00)
I travel frequently and had to carry around endless confirmations, etc. This app puts everyone in one place and also helps me to keep records of past trips.
Not so happy with it now (by Troy Bankert on Sat, 02 Feb 2013 14:07:00)
I used Tripit free for a while and liked it so much that I upgraded paying the annual fee for all of the functionality. The one stop shop for accessing my points and being notified of price changes was important to me. However, now the airlines and most of the hotel club no longer allow TripIt to access their information so to me the app is average at best. Additionally, when they lost all of this functionality I didn't see anyone sending my annual fee back to me. They just keep the money. Almost all the features that I was paying for over the free version are gone. Still like it but would rank it a 5 any longer.
Great Product (by SL65Racer on Sat, 02 Feb 2013 12:37:00)
Been using it for months now and is great. I really like the integration with Outlook.
This is the way it's done... (by His31337 on Thu, 31 Jan 2013 22:54:00)
All apps should be written with the same amount of forethought. Tripit is easy to use and just does what it is supposed to do. I used it for free and was never disappointed with the functionality. I finally broke down and bought the paid version and am very glad I did.
Tripit (by Lighntingbolt1975 on Wed, 30 Jan 2013 06:16:00)
A little cumbersome...but Ok
like a lot, but careful, it may charge you for Pro Membership (by barbelmontana on Mon, 28 Jan 2013 13:33:00)
This app is wonderful and I was extremely happy with the free version. Somewhere, and it could have been my mistake, I was charged for a pro membership. I would love the pro if I were traveling more. The functionality and how new arrangements like train trips or shows automatically show up in your time table is simply amazing. And a little spooky.... :) When I was in Germany last year, I made a train reservation while there, and it showed right away in trip it.
Awesome tool (by scottfarkas on Fri, 25 Jan 2013 02:19:00)
This is a fantastic ap. have used it 3 years. I know about an issue even before they announce it at the gate.
Not a good app (by Cliff N on Tue, 22 Jan 2013 23:57:00)
Was not happy with this app. Even though I bought the paid version once you get into the app they try and make you pay a ton more just to get basic flight info that you can get already with free apps. Very disappointed and felt like a bait and switch.
Great app (by Joe1234567900987654321 on Mon, 21 Jan 2013 22:57:00)
This is a MUST HAVE app for business travelers. The app really helps me to remain organized so much better than the corporate travel group or AMEX can ever help. Well those guys really don't try to help.
$50 to get flight status....seriously ? (by cau3 on Mon, 21 Jan 2013 18:50:00)
Love the ability to forward emails to create the entry, but upgrade for 50 bucks to get flight status??? There are hundred of free flight status apps out there - this ruins the whole app
Love it (by Me240444 on Thu, 17 Jan 2013 02:14:00)
Highly recommended, very helpful & easy to use.
CONSTANT CRASHES!! (by TC92130) on Sat, 12 Jan 2013 17:01:00)
Used to be a fantastic app! Now...crashes every time! WARNING: DO NOT BUY UNTIL THEY FIX IT!! Useless right now! This includes the free version!
No, it isn't perfect, but it's REALLY cool! (by roselma on Sat, 05 Jan 2013 06:42:00)
I have an upcoming vacation involving five destinations, 14 legs of air travel, a train ride, and seven accommodations. Too many details to keep straight! For each of these things, I sent the corresponding confirmation email to TripIt and they magically imported all the relevant information into one handy little app that is perfectly good at displaying the relevant details from those emails in a concise and consistent fashion. The app leaves a few things to be desired, but now that I have seen what it did for my ease of accessing all my travel information, I would readily pay twice the price just to use it for one trip. On the other hand, there is a version that does the same things for free with ads. If you are unconvinced, start there.
Awesome App (by PMBBD on Mon, 31 Dec 2012 20:37:00)
Definitely worth the investment.
Just awful. Useless for manual trip planning. (by Paul01450 on Mon, 31 Dec 2012 15:54:00)
It seems that it is impossible to create a basic multi-stop road trip manually. Pathetic. UI is lame. No ability to drop a pin and create a route. Search function is useless. Can't search by address, you have to select from a bizarre and random series of POIs. No, "nearest bakery" isn't helpful when I am looking for Windsor castle. Preview of a trip is a useless mix of start and end times with an arbitrary icon that is indecipherable don't bother with this app. Horribly disappointed.
What an Application (by Raad Noures on Thu, 27 Dec 2012 13:00:00)
Amazing application, I love it
Not userfriendly (by FKSFMB on Tue, 25 Dec 2012 07:39:00)
Too many message and sync so slow.
Functional, but irritating (by JS_Tenn on Sat, 15 Dec 2012 14:25:00)
Tripit works OK for collecting all your travel details in one place. After that, the social networking, alerts, and screen changes get in the way. The alerts are especially distracting. On a trip, I don't need to be told numerous times that things are OK. I need to know when a flight is delayed, or some other event has happened that requires my attention.
