Love this (by NHLNick13 on Thu, 13 Aug 2015 14:53:00)
Geocaching is awesome
What a joke (by Pissedofffromripoff on Thu, 13 Aug 2015 05:16:00)
This app deserves -5 stars. The free version is more updated and has more features. I want a refund on this piece of garbage.
awful (by joevbhjjjjm on Tue, 11 Aug 2015 23:45:00)
I thought i was upgrading to "premium" when i bought this. there is nothing to find on this one now it wants another 10$ to see the geocaches. i want my money back
Geocaching Rocks! (by LexFortis on Tue, 11 Aug 2015 12:50:00)
The "game" itself is great! And the app does a good job of delivering everything you need to play it. Note that Geocaching existed long before the app, so this is just one way to play. I'd like to see more functionality, especially contacting / emailing other cachers, especially cache owners.
Was this app designed by a 4 year old? (by Yuksel Family on Sun, 09 Aug 2015 02:55:00)
This company has made their Geocaching Intro app very nicely. It's lightyears ahead of this supposedly non-intro app. This app isn't even optimized for iPhone 6 yet; no updates for over a year. If you zoom in too far on the map, it disappears. If you load more results, it refreshes the view so you have to scroll all the way back down. And it's ugly.
Needs an update (by 4Cs on Thu, 06 Aug 2015 20:29:00)
Like the app but REALLY needs to be updated. The intro is free and it was just updated. I had to spend $10 for this app and it hasn't been updated since March.
Disappointed (by Ammyisalion on Thu, 06 Aug 2015 16:55:00)
I should have listened to the reviews before purchasing this. The intro app has so many more features than this app! The intro app has just been updated today, WHERE IS THE UPDATE FOR THE PAID VERSION! I really want a refund cause this was a waste.
Needs to conform (by fluxxalot on Wed, 05 Aug 2015 22:12:00)
Loving the game, BUT why the discrepancy between the paid app and free version especially when I paid a good amt for this. The free versions interface is amazing and would like to see the developers carry it over to the official version. Take it from an iOS developer...
Needs an update or I want a REFUND!! (by Cmzambon on Wed, 05 Aug 2015 21:36:00)
Needs Apple watch feature. Need to be able to type in GPS coordinates on the app for multi caches! Being able to view people's profiles and send messages would also be nice! I just feel like for $10 we should have more features than the free app!! I understand they are trying to hype up the free app but seriously if you're going to make the free app better than the paid one at least offer full refunds!!! I'm super disappointed with groundspeak! Bad marketing move for them to cater more towards the people who don't pay rather than those who do! Great way to lose business!!!! Seriously this really needs an update!!
Love geocaching (by Slider5110 on Wed, 05 Aug 2015 21:08:00)
I love geocaching and this app but haven't been able to post to Facebook from the app since the last update. :( hopefully that gets fixed soon
AMAZING (by Bobsteve1234 on Wed, 05 Aug 2015 18:46:00)
This app is a fantastic hobby. It takes me to places I didn't even know existed and introduced me to a whole new community. The only thing that could make this app better are bug fixes and Apple Watch support.
Good app NEEDS AN UPDATE (by Eli_Reese on Tue, 04 Aug 2015 00:27:00)
I love geocaching and this app is decent, but the free app is so much better. Yes limited in features, but the UI is actually up to date! This version harkens back to iOS6. That's almost 3 years ago people. You pay 10 bucks for an out of date app. Guys I want to give this 5 stars but please just update your app.
This makes me sad (by ThatOneSavvy on Sun, 02 Aug 2015 22:18:00)
Geocaching used to be my passion. The app used to be free and you could have all the caches. But now... 10$????? This is bs. It should not cost that much. I think there's more people your shunning away them locking on with such a ridiculous price.
Go Geocaching (by Justin 17363818373829282938 on Sun, 02 Aug 2015 20:22:00)
Geocaching is my life. -jstange059(my geocaching username)
Tons of fun!! (by JoBro8 on Sat, 01 Aug 2015 16:49:00)
This app really enhances the Geocaching experience. Great activity for me an the kids. And with this we can easily do it spontaneously. Haven't gone premium yet, but may do that some day. Definitely worth the small price for the hours of outdoor enjoyment!
Needs an UPGRADE (by Etyenne on Wed, 29 Jul 2015 14:13:00)
The free app is SO MUCH BETTER. I use the free app as much as possible and then switch to this app when I need to find a hidden cache. Please make this one as good as the free one.
Read the fine print (by kramrom on Mon, 27 Jul 2015 07:15:00)
I like the adventure but feels like I got soaked here. While navigating this app I keep bumping into features that request I become a premium member to access that feature.
Do Not Buy! (by Coop2Coop4 on Sun, 26 Jul 2015 03:49:00)
This app is a joke! The free version is a lot better! I'm mad that I paid $10 for this! They should give refunds!!
Does not chime or vibrate like free app (by Jent1963 on Sat, 25 Jul 2015 18:31:00)
I am really disappointed that there is no sound or or vibration like the free app. I really enjoyed that with the free app. Could this app be updated to add it,please.
Ms (by Mushu333 on Mon, 20 Jul 2015 03:38:00)
The free app has more access, and more viewable caches. And the Locations seem to be about 10 feet away from the actual cache; at first i thought it was my GPS but on the free app it shows my location exactly with the cache location. Very disappointed that I paid for an app that has a free version that works better.
Get the free one (by Spam for gangster app on Sun, 19 Jul 2015 21:28:00)
What a waste of $10. Get the free app. It is better and you still won't have access to any of the double secret premium caches with this app. You still get promoted all the time to upgrade to premium. Apparently buying a ridiculously priced app gets you nothing.
No love for the paid version 👎 (by Talnus on Sun, 19 Jul 2015 03:51:00)
Unbelievable that the developers updated the free version of this app multiple times since the last update of this one. Don't buy this - the free version is much better. Even offers Apple watch support. No iPhone 6/6+ native support, slow, buggy. Get your act together devs.
Apple Watch App (by MandaGin on Fri, 17 Jul 2015 13:12:00)
I see the "free" intro app is compatible with the Apple Watch, but this app isn't. I would like to see this app be compatible with the Apple Watch, especially since this app is paid for.
Dead-end application (by civilization on Thu, 16 Jul 2015 19:48:00)
The recent 4.5 update was a *huge* improvement over the previous release of the application. Unfortunately, Groundspeak has pretty much abandoned work on this in favor of the intro application (there is a FAQ on the site to this effect), but keep this around because it is a money maker.
Addicted!!!!!! (by Lucas934521753479 on Thu, 16 Jul 2015 16:46:00)
I love premium geocaching!!!! If you are a beginner get the free app then upgrade to premium!!
Free version is better. (by iPod user1654250 on Thu, 16 Jul 2015 00:31:00)
Title says it all. The free version is better, as it offers more features. But, this does allow you to view more Caches without buying a premium membership. So, it's a toss up. I run both apps for the features in the free and the GC visibility in the paid. For the simple fact that the $10 app has fewer features than the free, one star.
richtig viel Müll fürs Geld (by maggus 1969 likes pizza on Mon, 13 Jul 2015 20:03:00)
Logging von TravelBugs geht nicht. Genauigkeit geht nie unter 5m. Keine Richtungsanzeige zum gesuchten Cache. So wenig für so viel Geld. Scgämt euch geocaching.com!
Good app, needs an update (by jhinson on Mon, 13 Jul 2015 12:01:00)
Before spending 10 bucks on this app, I tried the "Geocaching intro" app, which is superb. In fact, it's way better than this app in the UI. Hoping they update that soon 'cause when I use that app, I'm wishing this one was as easy to use. Specifically: Quickly jump to description and hints, rather than having to open up the cache and get more info every time. Toggle between satellite and street view. I find myself opening coords in external GPS apps to see where this cache is located. In short, this wasn't an "upgrade" in the $10 app be the free app, it just shows more caches. The intro app is much easier to use and I find myself going back to see if a cache is available in the free app in order to find it there.
BEST APP!!!!! (by Hsvsgixhwgshdushsusiwhg on Mon, 13 Jul 2015 11:43:00)
Me and my family love to go and find these in our free time this is a great way to go places you have never been and meet new people. Some are easy some are difficult but it's fun if you find it or not! Don't listen to the bad reviews this app is awesome!!
Buyer beware (by Vmax rider on Sat, 11 Jul 2015 16:54:00)
I used to love this app and the ease of use. In recent months they have stopped updating it and some of the feature no longer work. It appears they are moving toward supporting the newer free app. Maybe app purchase refunds would be nice for those of us that have supported the game for so long????
Lack of Clarity (by Wheezy012003081707 on Fri, 10 Jul 2015 03:08:00)
I like the app. I like the intro app. Let's talk about the hidden fact though- we just paid $10 for 3 months. It's a MEMBERSHIP!!! This is not openly stated and I happened to find out through the web site. That is highly disappointing.
So many options missing (by Jswtoast on Fri, 10 Jul 2015 00:20:00)
I really wish that you could: A) use the messaging app B) be able to hide a geocache or at least see the "red circles" when looking for places to hide C) be able to look at profile D) map the corrected coordinates for puzzle caches.
Free version is better.. (by 8/8383838383883 on Thu, 09 Jul 2015 19:13:00)
With an annoying map that only can display caches near you, and constant jittering, this app is frustrating. Rather use the free, more updated, version.
I love geocaching but.. (by Richbomb tic tic BOOM!! on Thu, 09 Jul 2015 05:51:00)
I love geocaching. It's one of my favorite hobbies, but this app should not be so expensive. I bought the app long before the $10 price tag and I know that I wouldn't have clicked on the app after seeing that hefty price. All that aside the app is absolutely great! The user interface is awesome, it's smooth, it's easy to learn, and it's fun to use! I would really love to see this app made into an apple watch app!
Fun app but feeling disappointed & misled (by Monsterdazed47206 on Wed, 08 Jul 2015 22:12:00)
I was out geocaching with the introductory version when I decided to pay the $10 for the 'premium' version, although the free intro version works well, just with fewer features. Both versions have their benefits and I ended up keeping the free version and use them both. There was in app ad in the intro version which advertised "upgrade to geocaching premium to see advanced geocaches". When I clicked on that it gave me two options: 1~unlock more features or 2~ buy the full featured version. I clicked on full featured because I wanted all that they offered. It wasn't until I paid the $10 and downloaded the app that I found out that the 'full featured' version does NOT allow use of all features. The original $10 I did pay gave me a significant amount of tools to use while geocaching, such as the ability to filter and see hints & the cache size. These tools are nice but not necessary, and while they may speed up the hunt, 'hurrying up and getting it done with' is usually not a goal of geocaching for me. After paying the $10 (which is ridiculously high for the function of the app especially considering that winters in this area can last 8 months/year and often cover the ground in several feet of snow making this app a seasonal use app) and still not having full access to all features was an upset to say the least. The high cost, seasonal/limited use, and misleading advertising were the primary reasons for the 3 star review. And remember, your app can only work as good as your carrier and service area allow.
Not worth 1 cent (by Adelrich2015 on Wed, 08 Jul 2015 02:07:00)
The free app is way better. Please do your research before you waste you $ on this one. There has to be a better product out there to spend your money on. Disappointed in this product. Should have just stayed with the free app. That one was excellent for a beginner geocacher.
Dissatisfied (by Jarod yuhaz on Tue, 07 Jul 2015 17:09:00)
Awesome app but you should be able to message because you have to pay $10 for this and the free app you can do that, otherwise nice app!
Needs some improvements (by SaritaMadera on Mon, 06 Jul 2015 23:40:00)
I agree with many of the reviews. The free app seems to be more intuitive. This one is harder to navigate even thought you have access to more caches.
Paid version needs update please! (by hooloo74 on Sun, 05 Jul 2015 22:31:00)
Facebook link never works and crashes often. An update would be nice for the paid version. Otherwise, love geocaching and the places it takes us.
Needs Updates (by 1912swimteam on Fri, 03 Jul 2015 13:49:00)
For a ten dollar app, features are lacking. When viewing recent logs, hitting more should not take you to the top of the screen, it should remain in place. It would also be nice to click on a cache you have already found and be able to see when you found it.
Fun!! (by Djk4095 on Wed, 01 Jul 2015 22:41:00)
Geocaching is one of my best hobbies now! It was such a great idea and it really putts your mind to the test. It may need a few bug fixes but other than that this is just incredible.
My favorite hobby (by Jon Simmons on Mon, 29 Jun 2015 23:26:00)
Geocaching has been my favorite hobby since December 29th, 2013. I have found 30 caches. $10 is a big expense but it is worth it.
Expensive app with obvious bugs (by The8re on Mon, 29 Jun 2015 22:40:00)
Look, the simplest apps can post to Facebook. This app ceased doing so a long time ago and there isn't even an acknowledgment that they are working on it. I have reduced my rating to one star and think everyone should do the same until an update or at least an acknowledgment that they are working on it. For $9.99 there is an expectation that simple functionality exists.
Fix! (by JDR.. on Mon, 29 Jun 2015 21:48:00)
The icon that is supposed to say where I am is showing the wrong location :( it so hard to search for them if I don't no how far away I am from it :(
Kinda grumpy about this app (by kangaroogod on Fri, 26 Jun 2015 02:34:00)
First let me say geocaching has been my new passion! The paid app has far less features than the intro app. It does allow pocket queries but I find the intro app has so many more features that it is annoying to have to use both when you paid money for an app. I would be willing to pay far more money for 1 app that has even more added features
!!!!!!!Not watch friendly!!!!!!!! (by E. Rebel on Thu, 25 Jun 2015 20:38:00)
Liked the free app and wanted to upgrade thinking I would get additional features. It's a step back, save your money and don't make the same mistake I did. On top of it I was notified by geocaching support that there are no plans to support the watch, and that there focus is on updating and upgrading the free app..... WOW!
Love it!!! (by aprildabeachgirl on Wed, 24 Jun 2015 04:07:00)
Updated review: they did an update that helps with the battery drain. I love this app! It's so helpful. And also don't forget you can still use the GS website to find articles & update to a paid membership. I'm so addicted to this game and this app. Makes finds easy. Only con is it completely drains the battery. And I know my phone isn't as accurate as a GPS but I wish it was more than it is. Sometimes the location is WAY WAY off!
Tracking Bugs (by Msterry3 on Sun, 21 Jun 2015 13:56:00)
I've enjoyed this app for a number of years but the biggest problem I've dealt with is the difficulty I've experienced with picking up and dropping off TB. It is not surprising that many caches that say there are TB in them are in fact empty. It usually takes me three or four times to either drop or pick up a Bug. I hope this problem gets fixed soon cause TB make caching fun and should not be so frustrating.
Ok app (by Decaf 96 on Sat, 20 Jun 2015 23:43:00)
I started with the free version of this app and really loved it! I then went to this one and it's also good. I really do not like how much data this app uses though and if it is only 3G it says that it cannot find a connection. I live in the mountains and most of the time I only get 3G data if that! I wish it used less data and I also wish it worked on 3G networks.
DON'T BUY THIS APP (by Brady Dennis on Fri, 19 Jun 2015 16:30:00)
The Droid app (same developer) has driving directions. DON'T BUY THIS APP. use the free version. Also the app crashes or freezes when uploading photos. Hopefully the developer will get the hint and update this app.
Geocaching Review from 51th to 100th
App Suggestions (by Jacobboulder on Thu, 18 Jun 2015 22:51:00)
My family and I have been using this app since the free version started not showing all non-premium geocaches, and have some things to say about it. The app is pretty good, but some things just really irritate us. Some things that could be enhanced are: 1.An option to load all geocaches in a big area. We don’t like how you have to continually tap “Load more results” to get all the caches in the area to show up. If you added an option to load more than 30 at a time, it would make the app more worth the cost. 2. When you are looking at the recent logs of a cache, and you get to the bottom of he list, there is a “Load more logs” option. We often read the logs, and when we press load more logs, it brings us back to the top of the list, and you have to scroll all the way down to where you were before. Sometimes we don’t even know where we left off in the list. Occasionally, the “Load More Logs” option doesn’t even show up, and then we have to restart the app, which is just annoying. 3.This one is kind of connected to number 1. After I have loaded a bunch of geocaches using the “Load More Results” button let’s say I tap on a cache. I read the description, make sure it was found recently, and then tap the back arrow in the upper left corner. The app lags, so I tap it again, and it thinks I’ve tapped it two times, so it brings me back to the front screen where it shows you how many caches you’ve found and that info. So know I have to start all over again with the “Load more results” thing. 4.I am often the navigator when we are out geocaching, and am always trying to read the road labels on the map. When you tap the button near then upper left corner, it points the map in the direction that you are pointing your device. The whole map turns, but not the map labels. So when I’m trying to read the names of roads, they’re either sideways or upside down (or right side up if that is the direction I am pointing). It would be very helpful if the labels turned with the turn of the map. Also, we wish there were some other features in the app. To me now, it doesn’t seem worth the $10. I’d say it is currently worth maybe $4 or $5. Some things that could be added are: 1.The knew Message Center just came out, and is super useful. I know you probably haven’t had time to add it in since it just came out, but it would be nice to not have to go into a web browser every time I want to use it. 2.An option to post geocache publish forms. I have seen many people in the reviews asking for this feature, and it would also make the app more worth the $10. 3.If you could add the new Advanced Search to the app. The advanced search in the app that you currently have is decent, but I think the new one is much better. 4.This isn’t urgent, but is something that could be helpful. When you log a post for a cache, it is saved in the “Logs” tab at the bottom of the screen. You can tap on it, read your log, view any pictures you attached, and see what cache it was. But, you can’t easily link to the cache. You’ll either have to find it on the map, or search by the GC code. If you could make a button that takes you right to the cache page, that would be quite useful. 5.I saw someone in a different review saying they would like an option to input coordinates. My family and I have been solving a lot of puzzle caches lately, and have to use Google Maps to search for the cache, then go back to the Geocaching app to write our log for the cache. If you could add a feature to input coordinates, that would be very helpful. 6.How come the Intro app has new fancy graphics and even an Apple Watch app? I can look in the version history and see it is updated at least monthly, but the $10 app only gets updated a few times a year! Why are you adding all these new features and bug fixes to the Intro app, but not fixing the app that people spend a whole $10 on? 7.A way to see how many Geocaches I’ve found, without having to go back to the main screen and have to load many geocaches on the map again. Just something simple at the top of the screen or something, maybe? I really don’t like having to restart the load more results process all over again. Thank you, Jacobboulder
Not worth it (by Ford kid on Wed, 17 Jun 2015 16:51:00)
It's sad that I prefer using the free version after purchasing this app. Such a disappointment
paid app being discontinue (by Henzeus on Tue, 16 Jun 2015 13:36:00)
The paid app is being discontinued in favor of the free app for whatever reasons. The free app has frequent updates and added features over the paid app. Ground speak should pull the paid app from the Apple Store.
Can't hide a cache (by Kittygeek on Tue, 16 Jun 2015 01:18:00)
I wasted 10 bucks on an app that won't let you hide a geocache!
Pretty Much Dead (by generalleoff on Mon, 15 Jun 2015 19:21:00)
This version of the app is pretty much dead. The "free" version is the only one updated with iPhone 6 and Watch support. To access the features included in this app in the free version you must pay a subscription fee of $9.99 for 3 months or $29.99 for year. This is not sat with me and I intend to find another option. I recommend people atop buying this version of the app.
Needs updating (by Cbenner97 on Mon, 15 Jun 2015 14:29:00)
I really enjoy geocaching, but I don't understand why the intro app has an apple watch app yet the $10 app doesn't?! The paid app is so far behind the intro app that it is not even funny
Love the app (by R.kinney on Sun, 14 Jun 2015 16:25:00)
I would give it 5 stars if we got a free month of premium membership. But besides that we love the app. Even when my data gets throttled I can still use the app. It does need updated though, the free version looks better.
It's alright - Groundspeak, please update! (by bspakp on Sun, 14 Jun 2015 02:52:00)
Its comprehensive, so I don't feel that I didn't get my money's worth. I do feel, however, that It could use an update. The interface of the free app is much more intuitive than this app, and the visual design is a lot more appealing to me at least. Hopefully you update this app soon! Worth the money if you intend to get serious about geocaching.
Needs an update! (by Cmzambon on Fri, 12 Jun 2015 19:42:00)
Needs Apple watch feature. Need to be able to log a travel bug from the app instead of going on the website. Need to be able to type in GPS coordinates on the app for multi caches! Being able to view people's profiles would also be nice! I just feel like for $10 we should have more features than the free app!! But it's nice to have more caches available... Just really needs an update!!
So Close Geocaching (by Izzyoceangirl on Fri, 12 Jun 2015 13:44:00)
The app is fantastic, except for one thing. The price tag. This app cost ten dollars for one app. The app works how it is meant to work and is way better than the lite app. It has more feature for example, advanced search, access to all kinds of caches, and a even more accurate GPS. All in all a great app, but a expensive fee.
What do you use satellites for? (by JanetOpal on Wed, 10 Jun 2015 23:52:00)
To find tupperware in the woods. Or anywhere else really. Geocaching has quickly become my favorite activity. I am rather enjoying seeing a new side of some of the same old places I frequent in life. As for the cost, it is pricey. But for the hours and hours of entertainment I receive I paid less than the cost of a movie ticket. The fun is spreading to my friends and family with us constantly on a scavenger hunt everywhere we go. App functions quite smoothly. The map feature is wonderful and easy to use. Log your caches maybe attach a foto and be off to look for the next find.
Love This App! (by Daniel 9090 on Tue, 09 Jun 2015 20:17:00)
I don't usually write reviews, but this is a great app. Worth the money
Great but needs a bug fix. (by Ms. Music Addict on Tue, 09 Jun 2015 16:56:00)
I use this app a lot and like it a lot. I haven't used my GPS for a couple of years. This app makes it so easy to geocache on road trips. Only issue I have right now is getting error message 136 when trying to post finds on Facebook. It used to work...
Needs update (by colts_jesse3 on Mon, 08 Jun 2015 01:27:00)
We paid $10 for this so we should get the same updates, if not more than the free version.
It's SAD (by Worm1st on Sat, 06 Jun 2015 17:58:00)
Really upsets you when you pay $9.99 for an app and the free version is two months newer with an update May 28 and this had not been updated since March 20. There are a few things that need fixed like when viewing the map you should be able to click the icons representing businesses to see what they are just as you can do in regular maps instead I have to open in an external map to click the business to know close by where the cache is. Very tedious. Please update! Heck the free one already has an Apple Watch app, but nope not the one people pay for! Ridiculous should totally be the other way around! Paid one should get updated twice is much as the free one! After all that complaining. It was nice to buy the app and have a lot more caches available to find vs the few available on the free one. Please updates and show that you value your customers that put money into your business unlike the free loaders that don't help you at all!
Great... But... (by Apartment 18 on Fri, 05 Jun 2015 19:44:00)
Fantastic app. Does exactly what it's supposed to do and has mad geocaching much easier and cheaper for those of us who have iPhones. I have no complaints about the app. But for multi caches it ABSOLUTELY needs a way to manually enter GPS coordinates. If you're using this app alone, multi stage caches are nearly impossible. There are other apps that accommodate this but that shouldn't be necessary.
Could be better... (by NathanZar on Wed, 03 Jun 2015 01:11:00)
I was disappointed when I bought it... It doesn't load as many caches as the intro version which is a HUGE step back... It's harder to use than the intro version, for a $10 app I'm not impressed....
No watch app?!? (by ArRazorbackFan on Tue, 02 Jun 2015 05:06:00)
I don't understand why the Intro app is compatible with the watch, but the paid app doesn't. ?? Our whole family loves Geocaching. This app makes it easy to Geocache without a GPS.
No new features? (by cyberhomie on Fri, 29 May 2015 01:46:00)
Why is only the free app getting the new features? Messaging, Apple Watch support, updated UI, and today Event support? C'mon!
Love Geocaching (by TheSuspect on Wed, 27 May 2015 13:17:00)
We have used this app for a year now (just renewed the other day). It's a great tool for caching, we usually use this for locating caches instead of our Magellan. The main thing bothers us after the update is the way it takes you back to the top of the "recent logs" after you either "load more results" or open a photo. Not horrible but definitely a nuisance.
Could be better! (by MrsStahl on Tue, 26 May 2015 03:05:00)
It works for what you need it too. Would love to be able to follow people like a news feed. Also to share caches with other users via the app.
Crash problems on 5S (by icycorals on Mon, 25 May 2015 17:33:00)
This is an edit of a earlier review. After going to the app creators website I found that my privacy setting were interfering with the app so that is was not working correctly. Be sure you have compass calibration and motion tracking turned in as well as the location services for the app to work properly on iPhone 6 running iOS 8.3

Love this app worth the money!
Needs updating (by Pokingtickingpooing on Fri, 22 May 2015 22:59:00)
The trial app is so much better in terms of layout and ease of use. If geocaches loaded on a larger area like the free app then I would give it 5 stars. For a ten dollar app it isn't quite worth the money
App Suggestions (by Jacobboulder on Mon, 18 May 2015 22:55:00)
My family and I have been using this app since the free version started not showing all non-premium geocaches, and have some things to say about it.

Loving it so far. (by 1486mj on Sat, 16 May 2015 04:07:00)
Ive just came into the world of geocaching and I'm loving it. The one thing I wished the app had was a notification that tells me if I am thirty feet away from a geocache without me knowing. I think that would be pretty cool.
Update (by the_BHOOP on Fri, 15 May 2015 20:30:00)
App works great just one complaint! Love the game but it needs to be updated for iPhone 6 and 6 plus. Kind of aggravating the free app is already updated but the paid version isn't.

This app used to be a great app until it decided to tell me my current location was Seattle Washington...I'm in Michigan. So now I can't find any caches. I've tried deleting and restarting the app and everything and still nothing. I feel like my $10 is wasted
A very basic app for premium $$ (by Old Johan on Thu, 14 May 2015 18:21:00)
Why can't I easily: -post a log WITHOUT using WIFI - won't post with using cellular data. Update - maybe it's a problem with multiple log sends; they went when I tapped them one at a time. - Track my trackable after I drop them off. - find a list of all trackables I've picked up or dropped off? - find the history of a trackable? - find my favorites list? - communicate with other users? - have a list of trackables I want to track, mine or not? - easily view my own whole log history? - why won't the map orient to direction of travel? Or or at least lock to "north up"...so we KNOW it's "north up" C'mon man...it's a $10 app...DO SOMETHING FOR IT.

Half Good, Half Horrible (by ybfree on Tue, 12 May 2015 18:02:00)
Much to my surprise there is no way to CREATE a Cache with this App. Think on that for a moment. I did. And promptly posted a one star review and permanently deleted the App. Don't waste $10.
Where is updated support? (by GringoLoquito on Tue, 12 May 2015 03:56:00)
I have had this app for a few years now, but it STILL hasn't been updated for iPhone 6+? Even the intro app has been updated! And that is $10 cheaper. The free app also has a much better UI and not annoyingly huge icons for the caches. Please update this app, and I will raise the star rating.
Be careful of in app purchases (by Hangglide for fun on Sun, 10 May 2015 16:37:00)
This $10 app just gets you a couple more features than the free version. For all the features you will need an additional pricy monthly subscription.
Great App (by DrewWalt on Sat, 09 May 2015 21:18:00)
Great app. Note that you can do everything without in-app purchases, so this one time payment does the trick. Just two suggestions: 1. I wish each cache page listed the total numbers of finds and did not finds. 2. This should have more of a social media aspect: you should be able to search for friends and see a newsfeed-like list of friend activity. All told, though, geocaching is a lot of fun and this app is a great tool!

My New Addiction (by ElectricAnthony on Mon, 04 May 2015 00:11:00)
Where in the world have I been the past 15 years? My friend introduced me to this app today, and I was hooked before we even located the first cache. It just so happened that today is GeoCache's 15th anniversary, so it's the perfect day to start using it. The only complaint I have is not discovering this app sooner. I've found my new favorite thing to do, and can see myself spending tons of time locating GeoCaches. Thank you to whoever the mastermind behind the creation of this app.
No Messaging??? (by Sgrrl18 on Sun, 03 May 2015 19:46:00)
I have the $10 version, and I can't seem to message anyone, while the free version has that option! This app isn't really worth $10 if it doesn't have that feature on it, especially if you can't create a geocache as well. I'm disappointed.
Didn't get what I paid for (by jeffw2424 on Sat, 02 May 2015 18:53:00)
I paid the $10 for the premium account and it still says I'm a basic member. What's up with that?
Fixed compass problem!! (by Amyndodd on Mon, 27 Apr 2015 18:15:00)
If "navigate to cache" doesn't work do this: settings->privacy->location services->system services, and turn on compass calibration. Shame on Groundspeak for not advising people of this.
Do NOT Buy! Bait & Switch (by Shannonob on Mon, 27 Apr 2015 13:06:00)
Do not pay $10 for this app! You pay the $10 thinking you will get all the geocaches, but you still only get the basic ones. After you pay the $10 for this stupid app, you STILL have to pay $10/3 months or $30/year for the premium caches. Ridiculous!

Hidden fees (by Godfreeeee on Tue, 07 Apr 2015 12:44:00)
Fun app but after you purchase the app for $10 then you have to pay $10 for 3 months to become a premium member. RIPOFF!
Not intuitive (by Old Johan on Tue, 07 Apr 2015 02:08:00)
The app isn't intuitive to use. It's expensive to get a "basic" account; how about give me a month of the "good stuff" when I buy the app for $10? HOW do I get rid of the "tap here for more options" sign that is pushing the menus below the touch area on the phone? And just for a comment on Geocaching: I could really use a description of the cache...I HATE that I have no clue what I'm looking for and knowing the containers and hiding places are infinite variables. AND why is it SO HARD to track my trackable a once I drop them off?
Like it (by Tax payer 20 on Mon, 06 Apr 2015 03:28:00)
Paid the $10. Its great to use with the kids. Very surprised these things are all over the place. And some of them are very cleverly disguised and hidden.
Love the app (by R.kinney on Sun, 05 Apr 2015 21:54:00)

Easy to use and find caches!
Almost 5 star. (by ThespisTx on Sun, 05 Apr 2015 03:37:00)
I had this app prior to the 10$ price tag. I'm not sure why it got so expensive. I will say for me it's worth 10$ but I wouldn't have tried it for 10. When other reviews mention a second payment that's for premium membership which isn't required. Far less than 50% are premium caches. As for functionality I love the app. The way it directs you between the map and compass are wonderful. I beat many friends who run off condiments alone. My biggest complaint and the reason it gets 4 not 5 stars is the lack of ability to input coordinates. With puzzle caches becoming more popular it's really a needed feature. I can solve the puzzle but can't put the coordinates into the app.
Really Useful App (by Fogfun on Sat, 04 Apr 2015 20:35:00)
Great app for when you decide to go geocaching on a whim. Just pull out your phone and see what's near by.
Cool App but... (by Baloo01 on Tue, 31 Mar 2015 21:57:00)
Geocaching is fun. My son loves it, but read the in app purchase info before spending the whopping $10 for the full app. You spend $10 you think you have the full version but if you really want to see all of the caches, you will have to shell out $10 for three months or $30 for a year!
$$?? (by JJJENNY85 on Mon, 30 Mar 2015 20:04:00)
Why on earth do I have to pay $10 to get the app & then ANOTHER $10 just to use it?! & then ANOTHER $10 every 3 months!!! Rip off!!!! I enjoy the app, but it's definitely not worth the price!
Good app but (by Andre Roux on Sun, 29 Mar 2015 05:53:00)

Great geocaching tool at a very small cost (by emileereed on Thu, 19 Mar 2015 16:30:00)
The negative reviewers must be new to geocaching. This app works great even with a weak cell signal. I have one of the newest models of GPS units (and love it) but still use this app, you can be following one to the hide and reading about it on the other. You can locate a hide that is not on your GPS unit when you find yourself in a new area and many more features to numerous to list here. I've know geocachers that cache with just this app and have logged hundreds even into the triple digits of found hides. Also it is not a 'double buy'. You are paying for the app to search with, etc then you can keep track of your finds on the website for FREE. Then if you CHOOSE you can upgrade to a 'Premium' membership of the website that offers you more features than the free site. I also have an iPhone 6+...again this app works just as good as it does on my older iPhone 4S. Seriously.
Only app I've ever paid for! (by BirdPunx on Mon, 16 Mar 2015 21:54:00)
This app works amazing. I was just using it again today since last year. If it lags you need better internet, it's not the app. I have sprint and it works great. You don't need to pay twice as the other reviews say. This is a one time charge, but if you want premium on the website then you do have to pay for that. This is way better then the intro free app. The intro usually on shows 3 in the area, and this shows everything. You can press a button to load even more caches farther away. This is a must have app if you wanna geocache. BirdPunx

This is still my favorite geocaching app. It gets me where I want to go and provides all the info I need. I think the only thing that would make it better for me would be adding the ability to use external maps to navigate to the corrected coordinates, or any waypoint, instead of just the posted coordinates.

Seeing that there's a lot of 1 star reviews, I don't get the crashing ploblems like other reviewers do. The app works great on my iPhone 5s and a huge step up from the intro version. Great App!
Dislike this app (by Spideyqueer on Sun, 08 Mar 2015 21:07:00)
It's pretty bad that I paid for this app and it's not even accurate, at first I thought I was just missing the caches so I decided to go to a caches I already found once before to see if this app was accurate... And well it's not. I started from a parking lot and used this app to find the cache and although I was going in the right direction the app told me it was in the other direction So I stood in front of the cache (since I already know where it was) just to see what the app said and it told me I was 0.4 miles from the cache. I do not recommend this app at all save your money to buy a gps handheld.
Terrible its a scam (by Report 12368fr12346 on Sun, 08 Mar 2015 20:16:00)
What a waste total scam doesn't work

Not working (by H0neyfrog on Sun, 08 Mar 2015 18:54:00)
Paid $10 and so excited to see the app and it doesn't let me log in. Keeps crashing or telling me network isn't available. Lame!! Please fix it or give a refund!
I wish I could review this app... (by PJ McGinnis on Sun, 08 Mar 2015 17:50:00)
But after I spent $10 on it, I can't even log in due to "the network not being available." And I know for a fact it's not on my end.

Can't sign in (by Daniduck85 on Sun, 08 Mar 2015 15:29:00)
I can't sign in to the app at all. It says my network is unavailable. After restarting re downloading restarting again, wi-if on and off.... Nothing works. I love paying for apps that don't function!
GRRR!!! (by Qazwix on Sun, 08 Mar 2015 04:48:00)
Can't believe how much this app is crashing (three times in the past 10 minutes). Wish they offered refunds :(
Still no support for retina HD displays (by Thatxjguy on Thu, 05 Mar 2015 04:18:00)
So the March 3rd update still doesn't add support for the retina HD display on the iPhone 6 plus, so it looks like a Nintendo 64 game. I paid $9.99 for this application, and the free application is the one that keeps getting all the updates. Something is wrong here. Where is the support for those of us that paid money for this application I just want the application to look nice on my iPhone 6 Plus and to work as expected, and I guess that's too much to ask.
Worst Software Ever (by Muéro on Tue, 03 Mar 2015 23:20:00)
Update for 6.2.3: Geocaching's developers prove just how bad they are yet again. The app won't even open on my iPhone 6 Plus on iOS 8.1.3. Update for 6.1: Geocaching’s third-rate software developers strike again! Is there any way to get driving directions using Apple Maps, Garmin, NAVIGON, Google Maps, etc., to a cache using this app? Nope. Because the developers are either lazy or inept. Really, this is inexcusable for any app, but especially a $10 app. Does the app still work correctly when Maps.app is navigating to a location? Nope. The double status bar height messes up the whole app. Have the developers ever used an iOS device? Can logs be added to a different day other than ‘today'? Nope. Because the developers don’t know how geocachers work. Can saved logs be accessed on the Geocaching website as field notes? Nope. Because the developers decided to remove a useful feature the app had just to screw with its users. Does this display distance in miles with two decimal places, like every other GPS solution ever made? Nope, because the developers are morons. Is there a custom keyboard, like what Wolfram|Alpha has, so you don’t have to constantly switch back and forth between letters and numbers when typing a GCXXXX waypoint code? Nope, because the developers are bad. Does all of the artwork have Retina-ready images, now more than two years after the first iOS device with Retina display? Nope, because the developers don’t care. Does the app remember my login credentials if the app loses a data connection? Not always. Sometimes it just fails, and forces me to copy and paste my login details from 1Password again. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD HIRE SOME DEVELOPERS WHO AREN’T TERRIBLE Update for 4.5.1: No matter what Groundspeak does, their third-rate coders can't do anything right. In this version, my location will sometimes get "stuck", and the only remedy is force closing and re-launching the app. No other GPS-enabled app does this. The Bing maps don't seem to be the correct zoom/resolution. I always have to manually zoom way in to get any resolution worth looking at. The Google maps don't have this problem, but aren't downloadable, so they aren't useful when planning ahead for areas of bad/no cell coverage. The advanced search would be cool, if it worked. The "small" container search doesn't work, so obviously no one tested this app before submitting it to Apple. Try searching for "small" and all you'll get is micros. If this was a one-time thing, it would be excusable, but EVERY release is extremely buggy. It's been years now, and I'm tired of it. Update for version 4.1: The "Navigate to Geocache" map screen still doesn't work like it should. Version 3.0 of this app is still better than version 4.1. The app still has not been updated for iOS 4 fast-app switching (that takes about 5 minutes for a developer to implement) or background location updates. The app still does not have Retina desplay artwork. The app still uses non-standard UI elements. Original review for version 4.0: After every single app update brings twice as many new bugs as new features, I should have known better than to update to the Geocaching 4.0 version. Waiting for every page to load completely before allowing any button presses is the stupidest idea anyone has ever had. Not allowing full zoom on Bing maps is a dumb regression. Not updating the map cache navigation like on previous versions is a dumb regression. Making you type in the tracking number for a trackable ALREADY IN YOUR INVENTORY is a dumb regression. Making the app crash every time I try to start it is, I'm pretty sure, a bug. There are really too many bugs, weird UI choices, and inconsistencies to list here, so I can sum it up in four words: DON’T BUY THIS APP!
Geocaching Review from 151th to 200th
Not worth my $10 (by Skittles39 on Mon, 02 Mar 2015 02:24:00)
When I bought this, I thought it would be a permanent subscription, but I was wrong. For $10, I got a worse map, a worse compass, a worse interface, not many more new caches in my area, and the disappointment of not getting all of the features. Don't buy this, just use the free version.
Time For A Major Update (by Lancelot232 on Thu, 26 Feb 2015 03:15:00)
2/25/2015 - Common Groundspeak, I paid $10 for a premium app, and you don't update it. Your so focused on the Intro app and are forgetting about the app in which people have spent the money for a great experience. At least send in an update letting us know that your planning on updating betting features and UI. 1/5/2015 - Let's just say that I could've just used the website instead of paying the extra $9.99 for this app. I like the look and feel of the free Intro version app a lot better than this one. If I zoom out on the map it won't show me all the caches, only those nearby or in a selected area. Also, where did my compass go? Also, the UI on this app is horrible compared to the free version. I feel like I was robbed! What the heck, all the awesome features from the basic are gone!!! Lame, I think yes. Don't buy this app yet, use the website to see caches that aren't on the free version, until they update this from the Sep 2014 6.2.2 version. I emailed the developers and hopefully we will see an update soon! PLEASE!
Love it!!! (by aprildabeachgirl on Wed, 25 Feb 2015 19:02:00)
I'm so addicted to this game and this app. Makes finds easy. Only con is it completely drains the battery. And I know my phone isn't as accurate as a GPS but I wish it was more than it is. Sometimes the location is WAY WAY off!
Wow terrible (by Thatxjguy on Wed, 25 Feb 2015 05:20:00)
I was using the free version of this application and loved it, so I decided to buy the full version. I found that the free version of the application was given iPhone 6 Plus support before the paid version. I feel like I wasted my money because the unoptimized user interface is ugly and hard on the eyes. Who makes their free trials better than the paid version? I mean really, who does that? Update: It has been months now and there have been several updates for the free Geocaching app with the ugly orange banner on the application icon that I've had to put up with for ages now, but still the paid version of the application with the cleaner looking application icon has yet to receive any update for the retina HD displays. I'm very disappointed.
Worth the money (by Barls44 on Mon, 23 Feb 2015 15:33:00)
There seems to be a lot of complaints or mild recommendations for this ap. Mainly I guess because it's relatively expensive compared to free, but for $10 you get a very useful program for geocaching. It's obvious that a lot of work went into designing it and I don't blame them for charging a few dollars for it. I admit, it could have more features like an easier way to save your present location or give driving directions to the cache, but I don't think that there is a dedicated handheld GPS that works as well as this for what it does. If you have wi fi or cell service you can easily find and navigate to any geocaches in your area. That alone is worth the price. If you are a serious geocacher, you will also want a dedicated GPS, but for casual users, this program alone will get you started and let you try geocaching for a minimal investment.
Ummmm. No (by Lancelot232 on Wed, 18 Feb 2015 22:40:00)

Good app, fun activity (by timsm11 on Tue, 17 Feb 2015 17:09:00)
The only things I dislike is the new premium member Service. I mean I paid $10 for app now I have to spend more? Just disagree with that also wish that app was updated a little more. I feel that the free app has more features
Map view doesn't work on iPhone 6 Plus :-( (by dwjmccall on Sun, 15 Feb 2015 17:36:00)

Scam.. (by Anniwin on Thu, 12 Feb 2015 04:43:00)
I am so glad I read the other reviews. I also had the lite version and paid ten bucks for premium upgrade. (Which is much more difficult to navigate than the lite version!). And now, still showing I have to pay another $10 for premium. What a scam. Very disappointed. I've never paid for an app till now. What a waste
Don't post "found it" twice (by jas1348 on Tue, 03 Feb 2015 20:14:00)
Love the app, only problem is if you post a comment as "found it" more than once for the same cache it will count it as two caches on your total. I found one and thought it didn't go through so I did it again and it counted twice
Ok but could be better (by CrazyCacher on Tue, 03 Feb 2015 00:32:00)
I have had this app for a couple of years and for the most part it works well. However since the last update it doesn't seem to be as accurate when targeting a cache. I know it has a 30 ft radius but I have been way off a lot! This is crucial during the hunt. Also the map wants to put the cache description off to the side so you can't tap on it because it moves away. I like the old version better. Still have fun and worth the 10 bucks.
Ok app (by Lexinsam05 on Mon, 02 Feb 2015 00:05:00)
I had the free intro app to start, I liked the compass much better on that one, & I liked the alert it gave when I was within 30ft of the cache, this app does not have it. I extremely dislike how many times I have to click something to submit my find, ex: find it, write a message, ok the message, share with friends in fb or twitter?...I don't even have twitter....kind of a pain to hit a button 4x just to find it. As with other complaints I dislike the 'load more searches' i wish it would just show all in the area I'm at. The real only upgrade is having more caches to find along with the different types of caches. Just FYI if u post a profile pic and don't edit it before u upload it, it will upload upside down or however u took the pic, think it's an IPhone thing. I've noticed in rocky areas the gps & compass can be about 20ft off. All in all it's a fun app, hopefully it will upgrade and fix a few things the reviews mention.
Love this app (by Dan and Vickie on Sun, 01 Feb 2015 03:42:00)
For the money you cannot beat this app. We geocache w traditional. GPS and this app/ iPhone combo and many times the phone zeroes in with greater accuracy. As long as you have phone connectivity this saves you the cost of buying a GPS for geocaching. Makes things dirt simple for beginners too.
Love this app (by Can't even begin on Sat, 31 Jan 2015 18:53:00)
I love this app. Use it all the time. Don't use my garmin anymore. No need. I do have to plan ahead and save some caches if I'll know I'll be in an area without service. Also, with the latest version it isn't letting me scroll down and click on photos. Hope this is fixed soon.
Awesome app (by SydneyAwesome on Sat, 31 Jan 2015 17:08:00)
Very useful. Only thing to add is a submit cache feature.
Love the real life experience, hate the app's user experience (by iarnaoud on Wed, 28 Jan 2015 22:09:00)
Nothing about the app is intuitive. After getting a glimpse of the experience through the free version of the app, I decided to pay the $10 for the real deal. Not only is this app worse- too many options, disorganized, you have to hit back to get to items that should be global - but also it is still asking me for money to become a member!? Why did I even pay? I kind of want my money back, and to go back to the intro app.
Customer Svc. Is 1-star (by John Walker on Wed, 28 Jan 2015 18:37:00)
While the app may rate 3-5 stars, customer Svc. Is less than desirable. I paid for a 3-month premium membership through the App Store, but it never reflected that in my profile. I have emailed, sent the requested proof to GeoSpeak, and emailed again, but they are silent. I am now requesting a refund from the App Store and deleting this app. They aren't the only ones on the market.

Totally worth all the money
Good app, but latest version has some issues (by gjhimages on Sat, 24 Jan 2015 05:07:00)
I use this app a lot. The current version doesn't allow to see my last PQ in my list. Also when writing a log the very top of my entry is only partially seen. Lastly it seems that characters are smaller then they previously been when reading the description and hints. Can allow adjustments in character size?
Fun way for a date, BUT issues (by Zeocaching on Sun, 18 Jan 2015 19:53:00)
It maybe because i got the 4S iphone but i payed for the dam thing, it constantly crashes and kicks me off the app, its really fun when it works, but hopefully their techs can fix the bug
Awesome upgrade! (by Martin345678 on Sat, 17 Jan 2015 18:27:00)
Adds a lot of new helpful features, such as sorting caches, new cache types, and getting higher difficulty caches unlocked! Pricey, but it's worth it!

Great App (by BoyNamedBoss on Fri, 16 Jan 2015 00:11:00)
I dunno why so many ppl are leaving some ok or bad reviews. It's a great app and a great activity with friends, family, and exercise. I think 10 bucks is a good price to pay for all the extra features and filters. I mean c'mon people, it's only 10 dollars. I will say though, the internet connection errors and thinking I was gonna membership were off, but overall great app basic member or not.
App is ok (by Jlk93000 on Mon, 12 Jan 2015 02:19:00)
I upgraded to the $9.99 app from the free app under the impression that I was upgrading to a Premium app with all the features. Now I have to pay an additional $9.99 for three months to get the features I thought came here. Disappointed. This should be a $0.99 app if there is additional premium fee. Just a thought.
Not working (by FableKiller on Fri, 09 Jan 2015 19:17:00)
This app has not been working! I can't even get to the find geocache page. So many bugs.
More parity with intro would be nice (by St.John McCloskey on Thu, 08 Jan 2015 14:15:00)
I just upgraded from the intro app and I am glad to have access to some of the features of this full version (though others have mentioned features that may be worth adding!), but my biggest complaint is that there is not a feeling of continuity with the intro app. I would love to have that filter button we were teased with, and aesthetically i much prefer the look of the compass in the free app. That said it's good fun and I definitely recommend the app.
Incomplete app. (by Binkle02 on Tue, 06 Jan 2015 17:28:00)
For $10, this app should be complete for the everyday geocacher (amateur to expert). It does have its benefits over the intro such as having more than just traditional hunts and being able to log and place trackables but it is still lacking in a couple areas that REALLY NEED TO BE ADDED to the next update. First, you should be able to hide a cache from this app as you are standing at its location. For now, you have to download another app to get the coordinates, save them, then go to a computer and hid it on the site. Secondly, the map on the Intro app allows you to see only traditional placements but what makes that map better is you can see all of them by moving or resizing the map. You can't with this app unless you continue to click to add more results and then it only adds a few from your current position. So you have to add & add & add. If you are like me I have to go a distance to find 'new to me' caches and I like to know where I am going before I leave. The compass is ok and pretty accurate but could be improved a little. For an Apple app and $10, these issues should definitely be considered and fixed. For now, I have to use both the Intro and paid for apps together and still rely on my PC for hiding. And until these are corrected you get 3 stars and come in second to the Droid app c:geo for Geocaching. And that's my 2 cents.

Best app I've ever had (by CEcD Jon on Fri, 26 Dec 2014 22:09:00)
Best app I've ever had and I've had apps since I got the original iPhone in 2007. Easy to use, syncs perfectly with geocaching.com and is a blast for me and the family to use. Best part is being able to save caches and use the phones internal gps when we are camping and out if range of cell coverage.

I love this app it is so fun to get out of the house and go geocaching I highly recommend it for families. The only thing I do not like is how you can't access the geocaches you have made on your app it would be easier instead of having to log onto the website. Please try to add this to your next update. Thanks, Ingramcaching
Wish it navigated like the free version (by Brsam on Mon, 22 Dec 2014 14:14:00)
The free version is almost better since it rotates with you as you navigate yourself towards your cache where as the $10 doesn't and I'm not sure why?... Please fix this
Great app (by ダ二ールーロス on Sat, 13 Dec 2014 05:09:00)
But the map feature could use some updating. For example, you can't rotate it, it just always shows North as up, which is kinda irritating. Overall the app is kinda buggy here and there but functions fine most of the time. Also could use some aesthetic updates. Tbh, the free version app looks more appealing and well designed (compass, movement, logs, etc.) Anyway, hope to see better updates in the future, but meanwhile, TFTC!

Too bad the paid version does not integrated the lite features (by Guiton2002 on Mon, 08 Dec 2014 09:32:00)
I purchased the app to be able to have more features like pocket queries, and I have them. The bad point is that some of the lite features like the integrated compass or the warning when you are closed to a cache are not integrated in the paid version. It is like if they want to reach you with a fancy/good looking lite app and once it is purchased you have not the last improvements : too bad.

Mostly good (by Tedseys on Fri, 05 Dec 2014 13:12:00)
I've been using this app for a year and a half and found over 475 caches this totally beats paying hundereds of $ for a gps The only problem is if you exit the app or double click your app will restart. Also, when you are deep in the woods and don't have service ur screwed
Great Activity - Not so great App (by Green Achers on Fri, 05 Dec 2014 02:54:00)
While I love Geocaching, this program is no replacement for my Garmin 62stx with a well planned Pocket Quire. But for those times when I don't have a PQ uploaded, this App will do the job. It takes a long time to build and download a PQ onto this Application. Don't even try without a Wifi connection. Maps are another issue. Downloading the area map is not really possible on an iPhone, so you're dependent on having your ISP. If you cache out of the ISP range, you have to download a map (or go blind with no mapping). Last problem is the worthless iPhone Battery life. Using its GPS is a major drain so cache quickly!! Remember that when the battery is dead, you won't have assistance in getting back (so getting lost is possible). A side from the problems, this App does a very decent job of allowing you to search a cache and log your adventure. It allows you to download PQ, Search cache by name or proximity, Read cache description as well as past logs/spoilers. You can search Multi's or Solve Puzzles (except for Venona created puzzles) on the fly. You'll be able to log your Finds, DNF's, Travel Bugs, take and attach photos. Then submit your logs on-the-fly or save them for later submission.
Current location 10 deg too far north. (by Thomaszli on Sat, 29 Nov 2014 22:57:00)
It looks like there is a bug in the code where it is putting my current location at 10 degrees farther north on the map than I really am. It makes it impossible to track the geocache and I have to resort to using the free app (which uses my correct location). Instead of putting me in Northern California, it sticks me in Seattle. I'm assuming this will be fixed soon and I'll revise my rating when it does.
Wonderful family fun (by Lam of god on Tue, 04 Nov 2014 20:02:00)
The whole family enjoys getting out in nature with this app!!
Needs more features (by Leroy29 on Sat, 29 Nov 2014 02:32:00)
This app is very fun to use and very easy to use but you have to have cell phone service to use it. One of the things I was looking forward to is hiding a cache with this app but it doesn't. The last thing is that it won't let you search a town or city to see any caches in advance but that is as far as I know. Other than that it is a great app.
Good app (by myrthman on Tue, 25 Nov 2014 00:30:00)
I use this app for all my caching, so far exclusively. A few suggestions for future updates: Puzzle caches are hard to locate once correct coords are solved. It would be great if we could manually enter coords and have the app navigate us like it does for a traditional cache. Refresh All for offline lists so most recent details are downloaded en masse. Multitasking as previously suggested. My boys and I miss the "You're Getting Close" sound from the Intro app.
Compass Bug! (by Omegaglory23 on Fri, 21 Nov 2014 22:06:00)
I am running the latest version of iOS on my iphone 6. When I go to navigate to a cache via the compass; the compass needle does not move at all. That was never an issue at all with the app with my iphone 5s, 5 and 4. Please fix it groundspeak.
Misleading... (by Rj8407 on Fri, 21 Nov 2014 19:32:00)
Ok I'm slightly annoyed. After downloading the free intro app, I wanted more features so I downloaded and paid the $9.99 for this app. I was under the impression doing that alone would give me the premium membership. Come to find out, I have to pay ANOTHER $9.99 for a 3 month membership. That was not clear to me. The compass is a little off sometimes but I do like the app anyway.
Love the updates! (by Rjtoolman on Wed, 19 Nov 2014 16:21:00)
I'm loving this app. I've loaded it on my wife's iPhone also and she loves it.
Off line map support? (by PhotoMaven on Mon, 17 Nov 2014 15:57:00)
I've traveled internationally a bit this year and due to data rates was not willing to use the international roaming available to find geocaches. Yes there are millions of them throughout 185 countries. But without offline map support the app is useless when trying to find anything outside your coverage zone.
Having issues (by I_am_Big_Nick on Thu, 13 Nov 2014 12:29:00)
Love the app but ever since the new update I have been having trouble with it. The map will not toggle when I'm in navigate to cache. Sometimes I have to turn my phone upside down just to make it work right. Please fix.....
Geocaching Review from 201th to 250th
Not worth it. (by Sapp store on Tue, 11 Nov 2014 16:36:00)
Getting tired of losing my reviews just cause I have the same nickname as another user. Everything on this app should be included on the free app. Just get the free one and use your pc and go to the webpage for more. The free one actually works better for finding the caches. And you are still just a basic member after paying ten bucks.
Wow terrible (by Thatxjguy on Tue, 11 Nov 2014 01:38:00)
I was using the free version of this application and loved it, so I decided to buy the full version. I found that the free version of the application was given iPhone 6 Plus support before the paid version. I feel like I wasted my money because the unoptimized user interface is ugly and hard on the eyes. Who makes their free trials better than the paid version? I mean really, who does that?
Absolutely love this app (by Funkybrains on Tue, 11 Nov 2014 01:16:00)
Use the every chance I get. We've been geocaching a couple years now. We have a 9, 8 year old and a 15 month old boys we get them involved as well it keeps hubby, my mom and myself active. I alone only gain three pounds durning pregnancy and I'm using it as a mean to keep in shape.
The app is nice with a major issue. (by mattxshank on Tue, 11 Nov 2014 01:09:00)
I love using this app for my geocaching, but the lack of multi-tasking support drives me absolutely insane. It works fine if you keep the app open while you're searching, but if you even open the Messages app to text someone, the Geocaching app resets. And then you have to find the specific geocache you're looking for. I've searched for a couple of caches that involved using a different app to do calculations and such. Good luck. If you don't want to lose your sanity, bring two phones. I hope this is just a iOS 8 bug, because multi-tasking support has been available for multiple iOS's. Extremely disappointed with this app, and I kind of regret paying $10 for it.
Compass and maps are broken!!! (by colossus71 on Sun, 09 Nov 2014 18:18:00)

New functions don't work (by Cratebx25 on Wed, 29 Oct 2014 21:45:00)
Wasn't thrilled about an update but once I saw some of the new features I figured I would update. One cool feature is that you can search by the cache owner's name and after trying multiple ways to find one (just to see how it worked) it never worked. I always got the "no results found" message which is bs. I am also not a fan of the new look. Hopefully the "new features" will actually work soon. Not impressed at all. ***i tried the find a cache by hider's name yesterday (May 7) and for some reason it only seems to work for some and not others. I looked for caches by people in my area and all of theirs came up. But when I look up my best friend's caches (one of which I helped him hide) only one came up in total and I know he has plenty of hides. I just don't understand why developers think they're doing the customers a service if the "new and improved" features aren't working as they should. Simply take the extra time to make sure it works. C'mon people! Update*** I don't know what the developers have done with this app but every time I use it it takes at least 2 minutes to load before I can even search for nearby caches. Before it used to load up right away. And now if I get out of the app to answer a text or phone call or anything, the app restarts from the beginning so I have to wait another 2 minutes before any of the features become available to use. Just very irritating because it did this before and then the update made it better but now it is back on the disappointing level. Since this app isn't that reliable I started using Geosphere which seems to work much better. I may just keep using that from now on. Good luck to everyone else using this crappy version of the app.

Horrible. Needs an update! (by Alexman279 on Thu, 23 Oct 2014 01:31:00)
Hey. This app isn't worth the 10 dollars you paid!! Why did I pay that? I thought it had a feature that you could "hide" a geocache. Really hate leaving bad reviews but when it comes to stuff I pay for. I get kinda frustrated. You should include a hide feature on this app. Also include more things in this app that makes it worth the money. As of right now I'm not stoked.
iOS 8 update issue (by dsrt on Sun, 19 Oct 2014 15:19:00)
Love this app but ios8 and it do not play well together -- have 'can't locate network' issue even with reasonable cell service on iPhone 5s
Love it! (by Ash46799 on Thu, 16 Oct 2014 18:44:00)
I've had this app for about a year now & it is by far my favorite! No problems what so ever, the saving feature is perfect for places with not very strong cell reception. One thing that could be improved is actual directions to get to the parking spot, starting point, etc. All in all a great app!
Bad connection (by Jerjer98257 on Thu, 16 Oct 2014 01:48:00)
I have perfect flawless internet and it still wont work. It says connection error. Aaarrrggghhh!
Wish it had a share button! (by SLuvMozart on Mon, 06 Oct 2014 20:05:00)
I have been using this app for two years now. I've never had a problem finding the cache. I have learned to save caches where there is no cell signal to an offline list. Once I do that I can find caches without cell signal We tend to meet up with another couple from time to time to geocache. It would be really nice if this app had a share button. It would make it easier to plan what caches we were going to find.
No additional fees (by Me53906 on Mon, 06 Oct 2014 13:22:00)
The reviewer below is confused. If you buy this app you get unlimited access to all features as a basic member which is well beyond what you got was the free app and worth it in my opinion it is optional to upgrade to premium membership with a quarterly or yearly fee but the features are so good wit just the app I do not see personally I need to upgrade I have iOS 8 and the app has been working well for me
Not working with new update (by Courtney5658 on Sat, 04 Oct 2014 21:27:00)
This app has always worked extremely well for me before the latest update. Now, the compass no longer responds to any movement and the map will not move depending on your direction. Extremely disappointed because it makes the app difficult to use now. Please fix!

I love it...but... (by Pam's Man on Sat, 04 Oct 2014 15:19:00)
Overall, a quality app. Very seldom does it crash. I have an iPhone 5s. It's fairly accurate, within 40 feet, then usually your geosenses must take over. I love having access to so much information, and with Evernote, even my puzzle and multistage are paperless. One complaint. Before I paid for the app, I used Geobeagle on an LG phone. Not as paperless as this app, but it linked with my map app so the gps could lead me to it if I was driving from cache to cache. Now, I have to have a co-pilot to assist with navigation. Not very travel friendly. So unfortunate for such a great app to have such a major flaw.
Good (by Juliepea23 on Thu, 02 Oct 2014 23:07:00)
Works just fine but the compass is a little wonky. To reveal more caches click "..." And "load more results" you can do this numerous times to reveal more outside of your area. 👍
Please fix! (by coupe54now on Thu, 02 Oct 2014 19:28:00)
Every since I updated your bug fix, the screen hesitates and the map & compass doesn't work right either. Groundspeak you can fix this, because we love caching.
Pricey Choice (by Emjoliie on Mon, 29 Sep 2014 03:40:00)
I had the basic intro version of this app and decided that I would upgrade to premium. I am a little confused bc now that I have paid the 10$ to access the app it now says that I have to pay 10$ per 3 months to get the premium access. I thought that is what I already paid for? Disappointed I spent this amount of money on this and it won't even let me search for my fellow geocachers, create a profile picture, or show me the caches I have found.
App Is Completely Worth It (by Beavertonian on Sat, 27 Sep 2014 20:36:00)
Update 2014 Sep 27 Just updated my iPad 3 to iOS 8.0.2, and Geocaching to 6.2.2. Updated my iPod touch to iOS 8.0.2 but it still has Geocaching 6.2.1. On my iPad OpenStreetMap and OpenCycleMap data loaded fine, but I couldn't get any Apple map data: Street, Satellite, or Hybrid. (This condition also was true with iOS 8.0.2 plus Geocaching 6.2.1. That's what prompted me to update the app.) I shutdown the app and restarted it with no luck. ****** HOWEVER, when I powered down the iPad and restarted it, the Apple map data came in fine after a (one time) 3-5 second lag. (Note I did not do the forced restart, just power cycle: Hold Sleep/Wake, then slide to power off.) On my iPod touch, which at this moment has iOS 8.0.2 and Geocaching 6.2.1 I get all 3 modes of Apple map data just fine, as well as OpenStreetMap and OpenCycleMap. So with just one worrisome hiccup, so far so good on this still great app. ================== When the iPad 2 came out, one reason I got the cellular model was to use this app for Geocaching. My wife and I now use the app on her iPad 2 and my iPad 3 (both cellular). We are basic members of Geocaching.com and so have not used pocket queries, but all the basic features of the app work just fine: searching, downloading and saving for offline use, navigating, logging. $9.99 may seem steep for an iPhone app, but this one is worth every penny. We have no issues with speed, etc. We have 8 saved lists with 108 entries, 59 on the one with the most. We have iPad 2 with iOS 5.1.1, iPad 3 with iOS 6.0 (10A403). Occasionally, the Description text is translated from the website very much oversized, but not often. There is a "button" on the map view that causes the map to reorient based on the built-in compass. Touch it again and you're back to North up. Works fine for me. If you have an iPod Touch or a wi-fi only iPad, be advised that you have no compass or gps. You will be able to download data for paperless geocaching with your (separate) hand held gps, but your iDevice won't get you to the cache by itself.
Nice app (by hogg2500 on Sat, 27 Sep 2014 14:28:00)

Problem. (by Amandaanicolee on Fri, 26 Sep 2014 20:23:00)
I love this app but once I got iOS 8 and updated the app, it doesn't work. On the compass, it doesn't change direction and when I'm on maps and navigate to the cache it doesn't change direction of the cache anymore. I paid $10 for this app and now it's not working. Please fix this problem. It's not my service I have lte and 3 bars. This is a big issue im having because I can hardly judge where the cache is now

Getting Better but Questionable Graphic Design (by jklm Japan on Thu, 25 Sep 2014 02:29:00)

Meh (by Enburst on Thu, 25 Sep 2014 04:33:00)
The app is okay. Too expensive considering there are other ones that do the same for cheaper. The UI is a bit weird. After the iOS update mine stopped working altogether. I expect an update very quickly if you're going to charge us 10 dollars for it

Sweet app, few additions could be helpful. Main one id like to see is an option to search for friends or other users. I like keeping up with them. I know the website has that option, but would be nice if it was on the app as well, thanks bye.
:( it's the app update, not the iOS update... (by Youmakemezoom on Mon, 22 Sep 2014 19:49:00)
I just downloaded this app a few weeks ago, and it was working perfectly as advertised. I updated via the App Store as the app requested/recommended and now "network error". I've tried on wifi, LTE and 4g and it will not work :( I will be happy to change my review when the issue is fixed. For now, I am extremely disappointed. I was having so much fun and now it just flat out doesn't work.

Geocaching (by 1curtainlady on Thu, 14 Aug 2014 15:50:00)
There needs to be a way to add other geocachers that you meet throughout ones travels. Possibly just a friends list in the app just so that you can go to their profile and see how many geocaches they have done and which ones they have found recently.
People are idiots (by Satsloader on Sun, 21 Sep 2014 01:01:00)
I've been using this app for geocaching for many years. Anyone giving this app less than 4 stars is just an idiot. Anyone giving this app bad ratings because of an iOS update is even more stupid. The app has worked flawlessly for me for at least 3 years.

Great app with one issue (by Daver on Thu, 18 Sep 2014 19:28:00)
Overall, outstanding app. I do 90% of my caching with the app and have no issues. The problem I run into is when caching where cell phone signal is questionable. I try to plan in advance but how do you really know if your phone will work in an area or not? Why not have a "cellular signal" description under the cache name (along with size, the kind of cache, etc). It would take some work from all the geocache owners but it would help tremendously. For instance, I was near Mt St Helens, I did a recon the night before and picked the cache i wanted to visit. When I was near, no cell phone service. If it was listed in the cache description, I would have planned accordingly.

Help (by Hotkranz on Sun, 14 Sep 2014 22:06:00)

A few things to add... (by MrChubbular on Sat, 13 Sep 2014 06:05:00)
I enjoy the app thoroughly, as it has helped in developing a new and fun hobby for me. However, I think that the app should have an ignore feature for caches that have excessive DNFs. Perhaps a list, where when using the app, it could occasionally be reviewed to see if the caches have been maintained and are searchable again. Also, a way to contact the CO through the app would be nice. When one is out in the field using the app, it's a lot easier to ask for a hint if this would be available. Also, a way to upload photos to your 'found it' entry, please. All this being said, it's helped me find quite a bunch of little treasures. Thanks for creating it!

Antiquated app (by Gcdaz on Mon, 08 Sep 2014 03:26:00)
This is one of the most expensive apps I've purchased and probably the least sophisticated. It doesn't even sync between devices (like any todo list app or mapping app or, well, any app pretty much). Hard to use, navigation is frustrating. No ipad version. Substandard (save-able) maps. Fortunately for the developers they have a virtual monopoly, because they would be unlikely to maintain any marketshare if they didn't.
App is sub-par (by polooalie8908 on Sat, 06 Sep 2014 20:28:00)
Shows me 30 caches at a time. Let's me navigate to them. I can't look up anything from my profile (ex: my caches I've placed of the tracksables I own). Can't message users. Basicly...integrate the website profile functions and this will get 5 stars
Great... But... (by Apartment 18 on Tue, 02 Sep 2014 23:12:00)
Great fun! (by Eisenbauch on Mon, 01 Sep 2014 22:41:00)
Pretty awesome use of the tech! Obviously only works where you have cell service so remote caches you will need geo positioning more than phone.

Needs More Features (by Masonx54 on Sun, 17 Aug 2014 14:41:00)
This is a great app for Geocaching. I believe you should be able to search users and be able to add them and review their statistics. You should be able to access the Geocaching store. Also, entering in a coordinate should be a lot easier than navigating to a geocache and entering a waypoint. One should be able to create a new geocache via the app. Add these features and I'll give it a 5 star review! Thanks!

My favorite app by far (by _allycat on Thu, 31 Jul 2014 12:52:00)
This app is great. Shows you nearby caches wherever you are and lets you log finds from your phone. You have access to descriptions, hints, pictures and lots more. I've always had great accuracy with the coordinates too. Although expensive compared to most apps, it's totally worth it!
PROFITEERING (by Woodenfrogs on Thu, 31 Jul 2014 06:56:00)
10 dollars is comically overpriced for this simple app. Works well, but to then discover that there is a subscription they would like you to purchase as well was just appalling. Good functionality but terrible pricing.
Still learning? (by Dm4js on Fri, 25 Jul 2014 21:03:00)
I had Geocaching Intro and really enjoyed it. But, you can't see ALL the caches around you, only certain types, so I bought the full version. The GPS is decent. Generally, I can get the app to do what I want it to do. However, there are some things I wonder. What happened to the "ding" when I'm near a geocache? When I'm in the field, it seems to switch off of my target cache, and sometimes it's difficult to get back into it. Also, I can't find a compass by itself somewhere, so I often switch back and forth between this and Geosphere. If either app suddenly gained all the functionality of the other, I would switch to them in a heartbeat. Are there tutoring videos? That may help me a lot!
Love love love (by Badenton on Fri, 25 Jul 2014 19:54:00)
Even Use it on the iPad . App is way easier than downloading all the info to the Garmin and many times navigation is better too. love that we can just call up caches no matter where we are traveling.

Travel will forever be a treasure hunt with the kids. Best family fun we have had in a while.
Almost Amazing (by Mags31313 on Sun, 20 Jul 2014 03:40:00)
This app is great for what I want it to do except for finding caches out of cell service, but the offline lists help with that. Also that you need Premium Membership to get the full amount of use even thought the app is 9.99. Overall works great for what I need! Many hours of fun!
geoawesome!!!!!!!!!! (by Bfnfjdbfxntdndg on Fri, 18 Jul 2014 03:53:00)
If you get one app in your life i hope you get this one! so fun and great for everywhere.
Great family time! (by Jason Johnson on Wed, 16 Jul 2014 19:01:00)
My family enjoys exploring and this is an excellent app to use while out and about. You never know what you will find.
Great App (by PennGos on Wed, 16 Jul 2014 15:20:00)
This is a great app - does what it's supposed to do, doesn't crash, leads me to wonderful places. Caching is a blast, it gets me outside with my kids and reminds me that there's more to the world than meets the eye.
Best $10 i ever spent (by ncfinn on Wed, 16 Jul 2014 04:57:00)
I am caching in Europe (where i do not live) and do not have constant access to the internet. I can just download a bunch of caches to my iPhone and have all the info i need for the next couple of days.
Easier caching (by TeamSNOOTH on Mon, 14 Jul 2014 18:35:00)
Makes it possible to geocache on the go and without having to download all the caches to the handheld GPSr.
Technology and going outside to play! (by smyrna38 on Mon, 14 Jul 2014 00:45:00)
This app combines 2 of my fave things to do, play with technology and going outside to play. This app has it all, but if going to the mountains or limited coverage areas, can't be too spontaneous. I use the Save Offline tab lots, and as others have mentioned, a tutorial on quickly adding new coords when doing multi's would have given me much less frustration with my first few of those. That's the only reason I'm not giving 5 stars, that part of the app is not intuitive, and you have to know some specific terminology like waypoint, rather than something easier like, add new coords; and set as target could be easier like 'go over here.' I'm only being a little facetious. Great app overall! Gets me out to things I would never have known existed otherwise...here, AND internationally! So for the price, you have a global GPS, With a way to add new coords. Great value for the money right there!
My favorite app!!! (by Miamirie on Sun, 13 Jul 2014 23:35:00)
I <3 geocaching!!!
Love 'caching (by !Wilks on Sun, 13 Jul 2014 16:35:00)
I was skeptical about a $10 fee for something I've already paid $30 for (premium membership to the website) but enjoy the app. Sometimes I get major cache-bounce and don't know if that has to do with the app or the signal quality of my phone. I keep my trusty Garmin close just in case. The search feature is nice to have, and being able to log caches rather than waiting until I get home is great too. I haven't seen all the features of the website that I like, but will admit I've only been using for a few days. Maybe we will see a "locate other cachers" feature soon? That would be cool I think.
Needs many improvements (by Jason Turcotte on Sun, 13 Jul 2014 12:54:00)
My wife and I downloaded the paid version of this app when we went on vacation, as we could use it during some hikes. I was shocked to find that you can’t create a cache from the app!? Also, nothing about this app seems intuitive in regards to basic operation. Some things are buttons, other you have to click on the “dots” to get a menu to pop-up. Very frustrating. We expected much more for a $10 app!
Need some changes (by arielebaez on Thu, 10 Jul 2014 13:07:00)
I love the new set up but it would be amazing if in your trackables there could be a section to see your trackables that are traveling. Also I think there should be a friends feature, and a section where you could submit a cache in the field instead of having to go home and do it.
Best App for geocaching whether newbie or veteran (by littleblkdog on Wed, 09 Jul 2014 22:47:00)
An excellent App. Great for online research when you need more logs or pictures in the field. Perfect for spontaneous spare-time caching too. Definitely worth the money.
Nice but... (by Dancer 3 on Tue, 08 Jul 2014 19:24:00)
I pay for the app only to stare at a request for more money every time I use the app I paid for?! I get you want more money but in the app world the way you are going about it is tacky and disappoints me about the purchase. Im angry.
Love it (by NoCredit73 on Mon, 07 Jul 2014 22:43:00)
Love the app, love geocaching, love it ALL
Great but I'd like a couple things to be added (by Bemor on Mon, 07 Jul 2014 18:30:00)
I love this app! Overall it's great but I'd like to see some added functionality like the ability to male pocket queries on the go and maybe to be able to access the store.
Geocaching Review from 301th to 350th
Fun... (by aejkcn on Thu, 26 Jun 2014 23:37:00)
It's awesome, but if I make my own geocach, how do I put it in the app, telling everyone that I made my own? If that makes sense. Please help!!
Teenie Tiny countdown to ground zero (by CynthiaMc on Wed, 25 Jun 2014 19:07:00)
I love this app, With the exception of the tiny print when it comes to counting down to ground zero. It is nearly impossible to see the small white print on the black background on a sunny day. If it was updated with a larger font that would be awesome!
Great (by hairysun on Mon, 23 Jun 2014 11:59:00)
One of the best apps I've used for anything, ever
Can't Stash A Cash? (by shoalsgirl on Mon, 23 Jun 2014 11:11:00)
I've been using this app for nearly 3 years. A bit of time has passed and it seems that previous features are now unavailable to me, like the ability to stash a cash. I won't begin to mention how much I oppose the "premium membership". A complete miss in my book. Frankly, it is a departure from the spirit of geocaching.
Geocaching (by Larry Leads on Mon, 23 Jun 2014 01:04:00)
Seldom need more than this app to cache, unless in thick forest, and the app makes filing easy from the field. Wish we could file for past finds with correct dates instead of all being dated for current date. SO GLAD we discovered how to set new coordinates for a multi or puzzle cache -- someone should make a how-to video about this very useful app feature! Also like the improved Trackables info, in particular the map for each coin's or TB's travels. We use the "save for offline use" lists constantly to preserve battery on long caching sprees.
Expensive but Fun (by Jermzone on Sun, 22 Jun 2014 05:10:00)
This app is the most I've spent on an app to date... so I expected more (adding friends / viewing friends, making caches, etc). At least include all the functionality from the website. Also I'm not a fan of the push for premium membership after spending a premium price. Still, I bought it for a reason and it's provided me some good entertainment.
Great App with Room to Improve (by Tron5000 on Mon, 09 Jun 2014 17:45:00)
Excellent app with room to improve. Would like the ability to search for arbitrary coordinates directly in the app.
Please fix the Upgrade button problem (by Cowzaymoo on Sun, 08 Jun 2014 16:31:00)
I am a teacher and every summer, I get the 3 month premium membership for my kids and me. When attempting, it will only highlight BOTH options of payment, the 3 month AND the 1 year simultaneously. Very frustrating! And, very disappointing for my kids.
None (by Need data transfer on Thu, 05 Jun 2014 11:35:00)
Very handy for cache searches, logging finds, etc. I feel you still need a dedicated GPSr for efficient cache location in the field. A valuable upgrade would be the ability to transfer cache data from my phone to my receiver via USB or Bluetooth. Overall very satisfied, no problems with app stability.
Great app! (by Sgstevens on Wed, 04 Jun 2014 01:05:00)
So much fun! This app is great for spontaneous geocaching.
Was great, now crashes every time! (by SonicFox on Mon, 02 Jun 2014 18:59:00)
This app was great prior to the latest update. Now it crashes each time right after I pick a cache to locate. I have tried everything including phone resets with negative results. Save your money until these issues are fixed.

New to Caching... (by music-meister on Sat, 31 May 2014 20:49:00)
Just started caching this year and this app seemed like a good place to start. Small glitches here and there, but overall it's been favorable in the field. Looking forward to many finds throughout the summer.
Update broke it (by Agrlnky on Sun, 01 Jun 2014 03:42:00)

Can't update (by Richard Ulmer on Fri, 30 May 2014 10:13:00)

Broken (by cachappmania on Thu, 29 May 2014 03:56:00)
Same issue, still as broken as it was this morning. I'm starting to get just a little annoyed about paying $9.99 for this app when I was told about one that is a lot better for $7.99 out there. Please figure it out soon as my patience is running thinner by the day.
Great app. (by HansumKingtut on Thu, 29 May 2014 00:30:00)
Great app, and definitely worth the price.
Great (by curteye00 on Thu, 29 May 2014 03:45:00)
Works great and is very simple to use. A lot easier than using a handheld GPS.
Suggestion (by Flagrave on Mon, 26 May 2014 07:35:00)
I absolutely love everything about it. However, I'd like to suggest that you have a way to put in your own coordinates. Would make puzzle caches easier!!
Hate the new update (by MsWhitter on Tue, 27 May 2014 22:07:00)
I was hoping for more improvements in functionality (Like having the option to stop something from loading if it appears to be stuck. This happens when you start to lose signal on your phone.), rather than just changing a few of the app's looks. It feels like the app went backwards instead of improving. What I was upset about the most though is that there is now a limit on how many times you can load more caches. I'm completely annoyed with this because if I don't have access to a computer and I wish to plan a geocaching trip a few miles away, I am unable to do so like I was before. It's created a major inconvenience, when this app is meant to bring more convenience and participation to geocaching.
Great app want more (by Paintman7389 on Tue, 27 May 2014 12:08:00)
This app is awesome and I love it. It needs a way to input coordinates tho and a way to log you own caches that would make it perfect. I hope to see that soon
Perfect geocaching app (by 'izm' on Mon, 26 May 2014 07:31:00)
I love this app. I can do everything I need without having to go to the geocaching website on my computer anymore. Works great! Thanks
AWESOME!!! (by Luke31500 on Mon, 26 May 2014 02:27:00)
I love this app. It makes it much easier to log the caches than using the website. $10 is worth the fun!
Great App (by BriEyes on Sun, 25 May 2014 20:59:00)
Great help having integrated app with links to web
Overpriced!! (by Super selection! on Thu, 22 May 2014 16:20:00)
Convenient for the hobby of geocaching, but not sufficient. GPS feature is only accurate to 213 feet, whereas others are to 15 feet. You will need a different GPS app.
Location Search (by SVale1 on Fri, 23 May 2014 00:10:00)
I'm having trouble with the location search. I've plugged in a zip code and gotten "location not found." I tried city and state and got the same error. My phone settings are correct. And I've turned my phone off and rebooted the app as well.
Favorite app (by Chits and Giggles on Wed, 21 May 2014 23:45:00)
My kids and I love this app. I have used it to introduce many people to geocaching. Usually the location is spot on and easy to log finds and share photos.
Latest update. (by Chuck80196 on Tue, 20 May 2014 22:41:00)
Why did you take our 30 mike search radius down to only 10 miles? We really would like to have 30 miles back! Thanks for your consideration! Chuck
Love it! with a few suggestions (by Lv2b on Mon, 19 May 2014 02:55:00)
Overall I love the app (I’m not too fussy about the update one way or the other, though I’m glad to see I’m not the only one who doesn’t love the new smiley). I wasn’t aware of geocaching pre-app, but I can’t imagine what a world of difference it must have made to the whole endeavor. It totally makes it possible to decide to go out and find a cache or several without a huge amount of planning. For me, it makes geocaching possible. A few things I would love to see in a future version: 1) the ability to filter caches to find ones you have found (and look through those logs) and 2) a way to manually enter destination coordinates for multi-caches and such. Additionally, but less important: the ability to edit logs from the app, and a “pending” marker for caches you’ve found but haven’t written a whole log for yet.
Only change on the new version is the look of the main screen, disappointing. Still (by Tginc on Sun, 18 May 2014 13:28:00)
Disappointed in the update, lots of bugs in the system and still waiting for an "all visited" button for TBs so I don't have to continuously edit my logs from the home PC - a feature on the online program so why not on the app!?!
Great!! (by BewitchedH on Fri, 16 May 2014 05:42:00)
Awesome app for a great activity!
??? The new smiley??? (by TheLF2 on Wed, 14 May 2014 21:45:00)
I agree with others.... The new smiley looks as updated as a 300 baud MODEM. Is that really a smile on its face? Jack-o-lanterns look more friendly.
Geocaching app (by Wwf68975 on Mon, 12 May 2014 20:59:00)
This Geocaching app is almost perfect . It does almost all that I need to do to find & log caches. If I could find a way to rename and alphabetize my saved folders, it would be perfect!! This app works better than any other app that I use on my iPhone or iPad .
I don't like the new look (by AKERDOC on Sat, 10 May 2014 00:07:00)
I have been using the new update for some time now. I don't like the new look, and detest the smileys. I do not like the new iOS colors. They are very bland and boring. I do not like the new compass. The text fields now are smaller and harder to read for my old eyes. The program has always been slow to download caches for offline use, but the new version is PAINFULLY SLOW doing this. Even with a fast connection, it takes FOREVER to download the map tiles for offline use. It took more than an hour to download the map tiles for 70 caches with a fast internet connection. The program is fine for use when you have a good cell connection. If you are doing offline caching, Geosphere is much much much better.
Waste of money (by [:Mason:] on Fri, 09 May 2014 23:33:00)
I paid $10 for this app and hate it. Not user friendly. Do. Not. Buy.
Terrible Update :( (by Maureen Spiro on Thu, 08 May 2014 23:59:00)
We love Geocaching but loathe this current app update. The functionality of having an app in the field has been greatly diminished with this update. Trackable visits and logs? Impossible unless I go to the website which eats up valuable battery power in the field. Rarely have I had an app been less useful AFTER an update.
New functions don't work (by Cratebx25 on Thu, 08 May 2014 21:31:00)
Wasn't thrilled about an update but once I saw some of the new features I figured I would update.
Great app (by WI99hockeyDad on Wed, 07 May 2014 22:56:00)
Makes logging finds lots easier than the old days
View on external map feature came back! (by Bernice Schopf on Tue, 06 May 2014 02:06:00)
I'm not sure how I feel about the new look. It's harder to read, but I love love love that the view on external back came back. It now opens up in the map app and not to the google maps website, where I couldn't get turn by turn directions.
Ok... (by lestat221 on Tue, 06 May 2014 18:32:00)
Works alright. Would love an option to manually enter geocoordinates for the mystery caches, though...
Useless for IPad (by cumnz on Mon, 05 May 2014 00:41:00)
I can't find a way to locate caches from nowhere other than my home address location. Without this ability the app is useless. I could have just used Geocache's website and had the same ability. Would love a refund.
Not a fan of the new look (by DH2999997 on Sun, 04 May 2014 23:18:00)
Although the new features are wonderful additions to the app, the new interface is awful!! The smiley looks like an evil PacMan, the colors are off and the bars instead of stars??? Please go back to the Beta look!!
External map now Apple maps! (by jds936 on Sun, 04 May 2014 13:46:00)
I have been waiting for this for a long time. When viewing a cache on external map, it no longer opens up google maps through safari (totally useless). Now it shows the GZ on Apple maps, which you can easily drop a pin near a good parking area and use GPS to navigate. Search by user hides is great. Some users always have great hides. Nice feature. Suggestion: I mostly filter caches by favorite points. Can you add "Minimum favorite points" to advanced search?
Hate the new compass!!!! (by Lostourmarbles1 on Sun, 04 May 2014 00:49:00)
I never really has any problems with the old version so I was surprised to open the app and see the update. I was excited at first but after a day out geocaching I discovered I hate the new compass. It is harder to read and seemed to jump around a lot more than normal. Please change the look of the compass back!
Lame graphics (by Geoberk on Sat, 03 May 2014 19:22:00)
Seriously, those lame smiley face icons need to go. Too hard to see and to actually figure out what they are, besides ugly.

Horrible Update!! (by Priate on Thu, 01 May 2014 23:44:00)
The new update is horrible! Makes the app look cheap, smiley's are creepy, coloring is horrible. I wish I wouldn't have updated because the new look is bad! Very bad! Hard to see geocaches clearly with the new symbols, the iOS7 look is very poor.
Geocaching Review from 351th to 400th
New update (by Therunningmom on Thu, 01 May 2014 13:01:00)
Loved using this app for so long however I do not like the new updated smiley. Kinda creepy looking I believe the other was more professional and looked better on the map thanks for the other updates like seeing your trackable inventory much easier. Earlier review:Essential to geocaching. This is our new family hobby. Can decide on a whim that want to geocache anytime anywhere.
Like the updated user interface (by Thixslug on Wed, 30 Apr 2014 19:36:00)
Bring back the old smiley face. This one just looks wrong.
A few suggestions (by Dancingchristian on Wed, 30 Apr 2014 13:37:00)
Good app (nice update!) and great service, but there are a few things I would suggest: 1. When you search by location, having a marker showing that location. Right now, in map view, there are just geocache locations around an unseen focal point. 2. The ability to plug in GPS coordinates. For Multi-Caches, you need that ability, and it's not available within the app. I took my girlfriend to find one, and it was basically a bust (we're still together :) 3. The ability to e-mail geocache owners. For EarthCaches, you are supposed to get certain information, and having that capability within the app would make things much easier. 4. Slashing the price. I had been using the app from my dad's purchase, and I just bought it for $12.99. That is by far the highest-priced app I have ever purchased, and that's a hard sell for my friends that I would talk to about it. I realize you all have to make money, but seriously. For bonus points: having series of caches. Some people already do it informally, but you could set it up like a trail on the map and have it listed as such in the search results. Thank y'all for providing this app and this service! Have an amazing day!
Locations are off, terrible update (by Littlemissmonk on Wed, 30 Apr 2014 04:13:00)
I do not like the look or feel of this update. And now when I do an advanced search for "current location" it pops up results of geocaches 50 miles away, but nothing nearby! I am a geocaching addict, and this update makes me want to use my GPS and just delete the app. The new smileys are kind of scary too.
Awesome app (by BGATTIS on Tue, 29 Apr 2014 15:39:00)
Looks great! Very well done!! Wish I could hide a cache from my phone.
Update (by Cartmandude91 on Tue, 29 Apr 2014 07:43:00)
The new update is aesthetically pleasing and more consistent with the IOS7 look. I just don't like the smileys. I loved the way they looked before. Now it sorta looks meh. But some of the new features rock. Just wished they kept the old smiley. Anyway ground speak did a great job.
Love it! (by FKhan2931 on Tue, 29 Apr 2014 00:48:00)
Great app! Gets me within half a foot. Most accurate I've used.
Very disappointed (by PositiveInfluence on Mon, 28 Apr 2014 23:03:00)
While I do not prefer to write negative reviews, I do believe this was worthy of my comments. I was very excited when I first heard the app update was in the works. However despite the long wait I was very disappointed to learn of the very few features that were added to this app. It appears they put more work into the cosmetics of the app than rather than the functionality or the practicality of it. I love Geocaching and I will continue my journey however I'm hoping next update will bring a new features that will be more useful in the actual game. A sharing option would be nice as well! Thank you!
Being able to see your traveling trackables (by arielebaez on Mon, 28 Apr 2014 22:50:00)
I love the new set up but it would be amazing if when you look in your trackables there could be a section to see your trackables that are traveling instead of having to look for them with the TB number. Thank you
IVE BEEN WAITING (by TyCzuczman on Mon, 28 Apr 2014 22:44:00)
I'm so glad the iOS 7 design is out right before summer! I am so excited to use it. Still some room for improvement like being able to change your profile picture from the app and to view previous trackables. TFTAU (Thanks For The App Update)!!
Needs More Features (by Masonx54 on Mon, 28 Apr 2014 21:14:00)
This is a great app for Geocaching. I believe you should be able to search users and you should be able to access the Geocaching store. Also, entering in a coordinate should be a lot easier than navigating to a geocache and entering a waypoint. Add these features and I'll give it a 5 star review! Thanks!
Love the updated GC app! (by Bumble769 on Mon, 28 Apr 2014 19:12:00)
Well I love the new update, nice clean look & feel! Still my preferred caching app but I do have a few suggestions that some if the other caching apps have. 1) Smart templates for logs. Would be nice to not get boring tftc logs all the time. 2) All visited or all dropped off option for TBs. Helps for events tremendously!! 3) Option to have the compass transparently display over the map. Super useful when walking trails. 4) Push Notifications through app for new caches published, based on location. 5) ability to send cache location to a driving app..waze, apple maps, google maps
Beautiful update (by Mwhill45 on Mon, 28 Apr 2014 14:53:00)
A much needed update brings more than expected. Absolutely love the new design and bug fixes. Great app!
Newest update (by Islander65 on Mon, 28 Apr 2014 14:39:00)
Just installed latest update. All but three of my finds disappeared. At least 15 caches I know of but not yet found are no longer showing. No improvement wish I had not updated.
Nice update to iOS 7 interface (by iThro on Mon, 28 Apr 2014 14:07:00)
Glad to see the update to this interface as this app was looking a bit dated in the new design. Looks great!
Fun but... (by jvmarr on Mon, 28 Apr 2014 13:43:00)
The only piece this app is missing is "hide a cache". I would love to be able to hide a geocache within the app. Other than that it's great.
Soo fun! (by rutger87 on Mon, 28 Apr 2014 13:25:00)
That's all I have to say. I finally decided to go full price yesterday and it updated for iOS7 recently, haha. My only complaint is that you still can't rotate the map, but don't let that stop you.
Great app. (by HansumKingtut on Mon, 28 Apr 2014 12:12:00)
Great app, and definitely worth the price.
Looks OK. (by neeku.sh on Mon, 28 Apr 2014 07:02:00)
Finally we get an update after years and years of waiting and facing crashes. The UI looks nice although I do not like the icon change for the found caches. The previous one was nicer and more professional. Let's see how the navigation will cooperates and if we'll get crashes.
I love this app!!! (by Thefatal69 on Mon, 28 Apr 2014 05:53:00)
If you love geocaching or even mildly interested just buy the app it's well worth the price!!! I haven't had a chance to try out the new update yet but I am sure it's amazing like always!! I love the fact you can now look caches by hider!!

Awesome app! Had some fun with a friend before downloading it for myself. =)
HOOKED!!! (by Funawesomeness on Fri, 25 Apr 2014 11:54:00)
Geocaching is my favorite hing to do and have been hooked to it ever since my friend showed me how to do it
Good (by Sixensudjxj on Thu, 24 Apr 2014 21:35:00)
Needs a way to input coordinates to find multi caches
Best way to cure boredom! (by Devioussperm on Thu, 24 Apr 2014 17:32:00)

Other then slight map inaccuracies, which is to be expected, its great :)
Needs a few improvements but Good. (by Genie200101 on Mon, 21 Apr 2014 12:17:00)
Needs the ability to log a drop off for trackables. Also would be good when you are navigating towards the cash that the map turns with you to clarify which direction you are going. But this app is still good.
Can you get any happier?! (by Molehill Prophet on Mon, 21 Apr 2014 00:59:00)
Perhaps, but not much. Yes, it's a bit pricy for an ordinary app but this is no ordinary app, and besides, no one made us buy it so let's just quit sniveling. If I'm within phone range I have nearly everything at my fingertips. This app is nothing short of awesome! We love it. It would be nice if it were possible to input waypoints so I wouldn't need my Garmin GPSr in order to finish multi's and puzzle caches; as well as locating my vehicle with ease. Otherwise we LOVE it. Thank you Groundspeak!
This makes Geocaching sooo easy! (by ArbonneStar on Sun, 20 Apr 2014 20:03:00)
We love the ease of use of the app. Makes geocaching with the kiddos even better.
Best App For Best Game. (by Kaelhop on Sat, 19 Apr 2014 21:19:00)
Just another geocacher Addict. This app is great because where ever you are, hey wonder if any geocaches around here, and pop there you go. Drop everything and go get it. No GPS needed just a phone, cell data, and addiction to finding Tupperware in the woods. Log: took amazing app left some well spent money. TFTApp

I like this app. Very usefull.

Best app For the whole family! Can use it anywhere!
Pricey, but not regretting it (by Ajberg1225 on Fri, 18 Apr 2014 04:34:00)
I use a nice hand held GPS for our geocaching outings, but it doesn't have internet. I now have this app and because of it, we geocache A LOT more because of the easiness and convenience it provides. It may not be as accurate as my GPS. but seriously, if it can get me close, I can use my intellect to figure out the cache location. I am very pleased!!
Love it. (by Steve7398281 on Fri, 18 Apr 2014 01:09:00)
$10 is a tad pricey however.
I'm hooked! I blame this app. (by danielkha.com on Thu, 17 Apr 2014 02:12:00)
The perfect app to get you out the door and caching on the go! Thanks Geocaching Team! Keep up the awesome work!
Awesome fun for the whole family! (by kevin0612 on Wed, 16 Apr 2014 21:55:00)
We love geocaching and love this app! Best use of money in the App Store for a while! This gets us all out of the house as modern treasure hunters! So FUN!
Action Packed... (by Looks like doo doo! on Wed, 16 Apr 2014 03:10:00)
It's a bit out of character for me to ever revise an app. I must say this application has got to be one of the best I've ever purchased. It has provided solid entertainment every time without crashing or being watered down with useless filler. I would recommend this Application to all seeking adventure. It's action packed!
Worth it! (by Findanothername on Tue, 15 Apr 2014 22:45:00)
This is the only app (over 99 cents) that I've ever paid for, and it's worth every penny... Thanks for making it, I couldn't cache without it!!
Great fun (by Scheduled dates on Mon, 14 Apr 2014 21:53:00)
My family just downloaded this or my birthday. We love it! Having trouble though with the notes. We'll mark it found, leave a note, and send it. The number of smiley faces on the main page increases, but it doesn't mark the individual caches as found.
A must have (by WALCK A30 on Mon, 14 Apr 2014 17:23:00)
Great app. A necessity.

Need an intuitive way to make new caches. (by Allthenamesaeegone:( on Sun, 13 Apr 2014 23:56:00)
Very fun. You desperately need to make it possible to create a new location via this app. Trying to make one is very frustrating.
Works for me (by TimoPat on Sat, 12 Apr 2014 19:13:00)
Works they way I need it to.
Best $ spent (by Snewomit on Sat, 12 Apr 2014 15:24:00)
Love this app! This is the best money spent on any app!!!
My favorite interactive app (by gbryant0529 on Sat, 12 Apr 2014 04:17:00)
Geocaching is my absolute favorite hobby hands down. I live in a small town with absolutely nothing to do, geocaching has changed that. You don't have to live in a large up and coming city like most other activities. Geocaching has branched out everywhere! If you are too broke to go to the movies or bowling do this instead and I guarantee you'll have more fun!
Very useful (by Douglas Walters on Fri, 11 Apr 2014 23:20:00)
Have been a Geosphere user for about a year and just started using this app in place of it. I like the app better as it is more intuitive and thus easier to use. My only complaint is that you can only search for caches near your location. If I want to research caches at some remote location that I am planning to visit, I have to use geosphere. For finding geocaches near your present location this app is just fine. Glad I acquired it.
Awesome (by TImU. on Fri, 11 Apr 2014 00:29:00)
This works great on the iPad mini! I don't cache a lot anymore but when'll I do this is my go to GPS! It's so easy to find the cache with the maps and then you can log it, not like the old days using paper and entering everything by hand. Thanks
Great app! (by Kanticoy on Thu, 10 Apr 2014 16:07:00)
A must have to make the caching experience all it can be. Works great!

Could lower the price but a great app overall
Not worth $20! (by Cnhanson1982 on Sun, 06 Apr 2014 16:39:00)
This app is absolutely not worth the $20 I had to pay! $9.99 for the app plus another $9.99 for the subscription? Are you kidding me? Had I realized I was going to be charged that much when I upgraded from the lite version I never would have made the purchase! And then the app doesn't even work properly! Constantly crashes and has to be reopened, once you get it started again you have to search for the cache you were in the process of finding, again! 100% waste of money!
Best app keeps getting better!! (by ms.erin on Sun, 06 Apr 2014 01:14:00)
Love my geocaching app! Worth every penny we spent on it! Each update makes the app work better and smoother and always adds capabilities that weren't there before!!!
Everyone that travels and has smartphone should have this app! (by Bsacompass on Fri, 04 Apr 2014 23:14:00)
Fun for everyone. Best way to teach GPS system to kids or as I call it "a video game that tricks you into physical activity". Get that brain thinking, get those legs moving, have fun solving a puzzle. Makes you want to stop at rest areas.
Can't log in (by Musicisatoxin on Fri, 04 Apr 2014 11:56:00)

Update (by Kiler90 on Tue, 01 Apr 2014 23:05:00)
Definitely needs iOS 7 support. It was very good before but it's getting stale. A bit on the expensive side but worth the buy if you cache a decent amount.
Fun! (by Art_Geek on Tue, 01 Apr 2014 20:51:00)

Use this app all the time with our friends. Feels like treasure hunting!
Needs More Features (by Masonx54 on Sat, 29 Mar 2014 22:18:00)
This is a great app for Geocaching. However, I would like it to be improved for the new iOS 7 look like the intro version of this app. I believe you should be able to search users and you should be able to access the Geocaching store. Also, entering in a coordinate should be a lot easier than navigating to a geocache and entering a waypoint. Add these features and I'll give it a 5 star review! Thanks!

Awesome (by lowrnoma on Thu, 27 Mar 2014 17:04:00)
I liked the old icon better but logging is simpler, I wish it was easier to add and remove caches from the saved list though. Also it would be nice if we could email a user for virtual caches from the app or even have a email tab where you could more easily send messages to people.
Geocaching Intro VS Geocaching (by Wachopaguy5567 on Wed, 26 Mar 2014 00:50:00)
Good app now can find terrain 3+ and difficulty 3+ and puzzle multi earth cache wherigo And other types not only regular go and find easy caches

Why so different from intro version? (by Fleebs01 on Sun, 23 Mar 2014 17:53:00)
No Google Maps! No nice swipe actions for flipping between map and descriptions. Weird icons. Search Near Me ignores advanced search options. Very disappointed.
Great! (by Borders Baby on Sat, 22 Mar 2014 20:09:00)
I'm having a great time Geocaching using this App. The only thing is like to see tweaked is being able to use it in landscape mode on my iPad.
Don't hesitate... Get it. (by TheLF2 on Sat, 22 Mar 2014 19:00:00)
This more than compliments a GPS handheld. Using it on an iPad or iPhone with the apple maps.... The satellite view is almost like cheating. Better than a topo map in most cases. Have used it for about 50 caches so far, and the accuracy has been within 5 ft every time. Also, it is so easy to take a pic and include it in your log. Forgo a couple Starbucks coffees, and get this app.
Must have (by Royaldoybg on Sat, 22 Mar 2014 18:26:00)
If you geocache, you must have this app. It cuts down on a lot of extra work.
Abandoned? (by adenslayer on Tue, 18 Mar 2014 23:36:00)

UNBELIEVABLE!! (by Celliottcajun on Mon, 17 Mar 2014 02:26:00)
Ok, I was skeptical, but after using it for three weeks, I put away my handheld GPS and use my phone with this app. The features are great and I like how you can upload pics directly to the cache link. Worth EVERY penny!

Where's it at ?!? (by bigbrown17 on Sun, 16 Mar 2014 03:24:00)
Great app. Great fun. Perfect outdoor fun for all ages. App is pretty accurate and gets u within feet of caches. Log it when you find or if u don't, and it's instant. App is fast and accurate. No other caching app comes close. Try the cheaper version first and see if u like it. Then once you do, upgrade to the bigger app. Not alot more caches than a regular member, but you get better terrain maps.
Great app! (by jhk334 on Sat, 15 Mar 2014 20:25:00)

I just tried geocaching for the first time yesterday and I'm hooked!! Love the app as well, it works well for me even without a phone connection! But please think of including some kind of translator function, for those of us that like to travel! All of the ones that I looked up to play during an upcoming trip to Canada were in French. :(

What a great way to combine technology & the outdoors. Great fun & this app makes it so easy. Addicted!
Worth the app price (by wilmutiny3 on Mon, 24 Feb 2014 01:02:00)
This app has been great at helping us find geocaches. The premium membership is pretty awesome too. The only downfall to this app is it's limited to your providers signal. We have gone looking for a few caches, got within 200-500ft and then lost cell reception. If you can manage it, purchase a gps that's geocache capable, but if you can't this app works great within cell tower reception.
Most-used app on iPhone (by Cachemere on Sat, 22 Feb 2014 15:05:00)
I probably use this app on my iphone more than any others that I have downloaded. It is very user-friendly, intuitive, with excellent built-in features and functionality. I have one of those expensive Garmin devices, but actually like this app better. BUT, my only complaint with it, is that it crashes very frequently on me. If this can be fixed, it would be perfect!
Great App (by OP Mom 84 on Fri, 21 Feb 2014 18:37:00)
I love to geocache and this app is great to catch some caches on a whim or in town! Can find caches wherever you are and log them when you find them or wait til you get home.

Great (by micah on Tue, 11 Feb 2014 00:09:00)
This app makes geocaching so easy (on an iPhone). The "find caches around me" feature is great! The one down side is that it is a little pricey (at least when I got it) if you have an iPod touch, It is a great app to save caches and logs on

My favorite activity and app!!!
Big missing feature (by TkasWV718Geo on Tue, 04 Feb 2014 13:44:00)
There is no way to enter a specific gps location and navigate to it. I was liking the app till I came to a cash that is part of a series and gives the location of the next cashes to find. For that much $ I would think the official geocashing app would have an easy way to enter a specific gps point to find. Maybe in the next update hopefully coming soon
Price (by Ginny1962 w on Mon, 03 Feb 2014 01:22:00)

Huge Fan of this game/sport!! So happy I can do it whenever! Def keeping it at 5 stars, but for iPhone on map it would be cooler if it wasn't just a blue dot, instead an arrow. Regardless I use compass but just a heads up! Thanks for this being custom and all and groove on!!

So simple the five year old can use it.
Needs a Serious Update! (by kel bowen on Thu, 16 Jan 2014 09:00:00)
Keyboard is old and the whole UI can be slow and glitchy. This app would be worth the price if they paid more attention to what it needs. Months without updates?? I'd also like to see some new features added.. Perhaps sad faces for DNF locations and username tags for logs so threads on caches can be more interactive.
Great tool for caching (by HistoryRider on Wed, 15 Jan 2014 21:17:00)
Great app! With a couple if additions it would be fantastic! My wish is that it would have access to the user/member database and profiles like the website. All in all great fun to be had by all.

Missing some stuff (by bearco on Tue, 07 Jan 2014 05:54:00)
For 10 bucks I would think an app works properly also offline. Since I do most of my geocaching outside my country, I have no wifi except at hotel. It would be nice if offline option included all the descriptions and photos! Sometimes the hint is a spoiler photo and you can't do those offline. All in all, without these options, if you're an offline user like me, I'm not sure it's worth the money.

Only one thing missing! (by IdahoZorn on Fri, 03 Jan 2014 21:47:00)
I have an iPod touch so I use the app for storing the cache data offline, however the lat/Lon coordinates are nowhere to be found on a caches page. I have found a work around, by going to navigate, then clicking the flag in the top right, then clicking set to cache location, however this is timely and kind of inconvenient. You could easily add an internal menu allowing us to view the coordinates offline, so please do! Other than that, great!
Great until the change in maps (by Danphin on Fri, 03 Jan 2014 20:10:00)

Good and improving - one problem... (by Kelsoboom on Tue, 31 Dec 2013 00:08:00)
I appreciate the fact that not only is this one of my favorite and most-used apps, but also that it has improved with each release. Some of the stability and memory problems with earlier versions have been fixed, and it seems to benefit from thoughtful ongoing development. Added comments - Dec 2013: I am still using the app with my iPhone 4S and rely on it heavily for routine caching. However seemingly since the iOS 7 update, I’ve been experiencing a problem with GPS and battery use. If I use the app to navigate to a cache using the phone’s GPS, it goes into a high battery drain mode and stays that way, even after the search is ended. If I don’t shut off the phone and reboot, my battery will go down to zero in a relatively short time. This makes it a real problem to use the app to hunt caches for an extended period of time away from home or away from a power source. Interestingly, the abnormal battery drain does not seem to occur if I use the app to view my position on a search map; but if I pick a particular cache and ask to navigate to it, it goes into battery drain mode and seemingly never comes out. Perhaps there is some kind of bug or conflict with the new iOS that is preventing the GPS chip from shutting off when it should? Temporarily deducting one star from my rating due to this issue.

Geocacher (by Markandval21 on Sat, 28 Dec 2013 18:05:00)
Works great sometimes but for the last few months its been about 3 miles off. I use it to log about 50% of my finds and it needs a way to change the log dates.

Terrific app! (by Medic654 on Wed, 18 Dec 2013 16:42:00)
This app is great and has guided me successfully to over 2000 caches. I use it in urban areas and dense forests. I love that you can easily download pocket query's and save cache information to use in areas without cell connection. Thanks!

This app has change the face of Geocaching without doubt. It has also opened geocaching to many people who could never afford to have both a smart phone and a separate GPS device. Keep up the good work. Nickedemous

Great App! (by Tired but worth it! on Wed, 11 Dec 2013 17:40:00)
Very good and easy to use. There is one issue I am experiencing with it. My girlfriend and I have an iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S respectfully. When logging a find neither of our app will post the find to Facebook. We are both running IOS6. We checked our settings and they are the same as when the app was posting to Facebook.
Helpful app, but expensive! (by neeku.sh on Mon, 09 Dec 2013 04:15:00)
I wanted to log a cache I hid, but it can't be done on the app. Also there should be a menu item for events list.
Overall good (by Lt._T-Lo on Sun, 08 Dec 2013 15:08:00)
Only thing I wish I could do is look up caches a little further out on my routes.
Great app (by jibit10 on Sat, 07 Dec 2013 22:50:00)
This app works great, it lets you track caches in-app, the compass is pretty accurate, and you can log any found caches on this app
Super aid to caching! (by RedRackem on Thu, 05 Dec 2013 17:24:00)
This app really makes caching a fun activity. It's great to find caches nearby. I use the map to get close and I use the compass to home-in on the target.
AWESOME APP!! (by TexaspPch7 on Thu, 05 Dec 2013 15:38:00)
😍😍😍😍😍❤❤❤❤❤ Makes it so much easier for me!!
Awesome! (by LightningVoltix on Wed, 04 Dec 2013 21:15:00)
This is really great and I'm sure many others agree! The only thing I ask for is a way to update(refresh) a whole offline list at once without the tedious effort of going through each and every single cache. It's good to know about new logs, when it was last found, and trackable info. Otherwise, this is perfect!
Love the new features..... (by OleNissanRidah on Wed, 04 Dec 2013 20:47:00)
But crashes often on 4S & 3GS. Would be great to have the option to sort by tb's on app and pc. Crashed on my numerous times today while out caching, while heading to one cache, (.01 miles away) it crashed 5 times! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE FIX!!!!!!!!

Best 9.99 ever. Thanks to you I spent under .5 hour installing the app, updating the website, and familiarizing myself with the first search and I'm not advanced. It was fun and successful from the get-go.

So far no real complaint (by Jstagteam on Sat, 30 Nov 2013 23:38:00)
We're newcomers... App seems sensibly organized to deliver all the descriptions, directions, distances, hints and logs that help us succeed. It is what it claims to be. Does not shortchange supplying information.
Works great (by Jmzb2010 on Sat, 30 Nov 2013 17:25:00)
App works great just make sure have battery charger for phone.
Awesome (by jsat61307 on Sat, 30 Nov 2013 11:20:00)
I use this app nonstop. Works great even without data and cell service if you save it to an offline list. Would like to see a feature to be able to jam in coordinates for multicaches while still in app. Awesome gear.
Perfect, except for one thing. (by NickSandelin on Fri, 29 Nov 2013 17:37:00)
It seems that we are forced to use the degree decimal system, which would be fine if it wasn't such an obscure system in other gps apps. Could you maybe add the option to use other systems in the next update?
Great app but it's a battery killer! (by Kbb811 on Thu, 28 Nov 2013 18:38:00)

Geocaching Review (Check website before heading out, it helps) (by Timofawesome on Mon, 18 Nov 2013 18:07:00)
The 10$ price should not scare you away from this app. It is awesome it is one of the few ways that technology gets you outside and exploring. It helps to bring people along. The app itself is easy simple and has all the information that you need while you are out caching (you may want other tools while caching check website for more info on that). If you have never done this before try it. It is really fun, and makes you find places that you would not normally go. Which is cool because it takes you where a lot of other apps would never take you. Good app, just make sure to visit the website first it. The website will help if you have never done this before and you don't have friend who knows what it is about.
Good app (by boo2931 on Mon, 18 Nov 2013 17:23:00)

I like it. (by Enduroblood on Tue, 12 Nov 2013 15:03:00)
I like it. This is fun. Been caching for about a year. Wish the maps were more zoom able and that you could click or visit other user profiles, but I will get over it. It's cool to see whats hidden in places you always visit, but my favorite caches are the ones in the desert or woods.

Great app! (by Maxakabill on Sun, 03 Nov 2013 14:31:00)
Makes it easy to cache on the go wherever you are! I use to geocache with a garmin handheld gps awhile ago, kind of fell out of doing it, but then I bought this app! Way worth it. there are always tons of caches to find wherever you are and this makes it so easy.
Excellent app for geocaching (by Robert Wright on Sun, 03 Nov 2013 01:41:00)
Generally this app is quite good and worth the money if you are into geocaching. It does not support topographic maps and does not let you copy coordinates so you can use another app that does use topo maps. Topo maps are indespendible for tromping around the woods. Saved geocaches only carry recent logs so if you need to get a clue out of older logs you are out of luck. If these features were added this would be 5 stars.
Good app (by Shadow52 on Sun, 03 Nov 2013 00:27:00)
I am surprised by the accuracy. I didn't think an iPhone GPS was that accurate. App well done too.

Better (by mustang30 on Sat, 02 Nov 2013 01:33:00)
Better then using GPS. It's more accurate. The tracking bug logging could be easier but that's more the websites fault then this app.

I was skeptical at first of the price. Upon purchasing, I have discovered that this is the most useful app on my phone, and best tool to enhance my geocaching game. Amazing app. Only suggesting is if there could be an update to the maps. Most are accurate, just a little behind.

Love to Geo Cache but this app on my IPhone 4S is frustrating. The compass does not work at all and the coordinates bounce all over the place. Usually locks up when I get to 13' of the target. But it works really well with my wife's IPad mini.

Geocaching is the best thing ever! (by "L" on Thu, 24 Oct 2013 18:36:00)
Well, just about. And the Geocaching app makes it even better. I use it on my iPod touch so I can't really use it as a GPS device to find the caches, but I use the offline feature all the time. I can make an offline list and check descriptions, previous logs and pictures of the caches I'm searching for. As a relatively newbie, I really couldn't find many caches without it!
Very nice app! (by Icemancaleb on Wed, 23 Oct 2013 03:58:00)

The price IS right! (by crx81 on Fri, 18 Oct 2013 01:29:00)
At first sight, i thought this app was really pricey. However, I Haven't used my regular ($500) GPS once since downloading this app! 135 geocaches found since download. Yes, a real GPS is more accurate, but this app is great on the fly (no need to choose and download caches first - no limits!), logs my finds on the website, and still gets me within a few feet of the cache 99% of the time. Do the math... a $10 app or a $500 GPS!

Dissapointing (by ~E.J.A.~ on Sun, 06 Oct 2013 21:12:00)
This app is rather pricy, but I thought it would be worth it for the convenience of paperless caching. It is convenient, but I'm still disappointed in its performance and features. First it functions poorly as a GPS. Ground zero is often 30 feet or so off which can make brushy terrain really difficult. Maps are barely adequate in my urban area- I'd never trust it in rural areas. This app does not track your route or allow you to backtrack, or even tell you how far you have walked. Again, very lacking for off-road use. If I run it in conjunction with another GPS/tracking program, both crash or freeze unexpectedly. This app also drains the battery of my iphone4 rapidly. One quick roadside cache is no problem, but an hour walk with my son drained over half my battery.
Great tool (by mrs.lemire on Sun, 06 Oct 2013 12:40:00)
Love this App. I never have crashing issues and it seems to get me close enough that Geo Sense kicks in. It has replaced my handheld GPS in all urban caches. I still need the old faithful when hiking in remote areas.

Great app for geocaching.
Good in some ways (by Cwlady on Mon, 30 Sep 2013 23:56:00)
I like that I can access a geocache anywhere at any time on my iPhone but it needs the Internet. I won't be able to do that on my husbands iPod unless I pull them up and then save them. It is nice to access the travelbug information and to be able to submit logs right to the website. It does seem to eat up the batteries and the maps are slow. I have to admit I use another app for most of my caching so I will probably be using this as a companion to the other one until things are perfected. It's better since the last upgrade. Only needs one thing, the ability to get driving instructions thru the apple maps.

Awesome app, the 9.99 didn't even hurt, i love nature and hiking and this app facilitates just that...
Great App (by Ntlwhlr1 on Sun, 29 Sep 2013 14:39:00)
$9.99 was the 2nd highest amount I ever paid for an app, but I decided that the $10 for long term use and family time was far less going to a movie for an hour and a half. Even if we used it for less than the time of the movie, it was worth trying. So glad we did this as we have had a great time using the app and finding the caches in our local area. Who know so many hidden things were around. In our area someone did a history of the area series and it was interesting to learn about what was there and what is there now while finding some hidden objects. We have found 60+ so far and continue to have fun finding them. The app is easy to use and it's great to just hit the button which shows nearby caches regardless of where we are at.
I'm addicted (by I don't need one either on Sun, 29 Sep 2013 00:36:00)

Premium version? Are you joking? (by 320190MJ on Thu, 26 Sep 2013 23:59:00)
I am very annoyed that after spending $9.99 for this, I get an email soliciting ANOTHER $2.50 per month for "premium Geocaching". App is fine but this ridiculous "up-sell" is an insult.
Crash problems on 5S (by icycorals on Thu, 26 Sep 2013 21:22:00)
It's been buggy and crashing like sonny bono on the iPhone 5s. Had no issues on my 4s. I'm sure with a couple updates it will be fine
Unreliable (by Atkse on Thu, 26 Sep 2013 21:11:00)
GPS has been unreliable lately. Mine will say we're 0.5 miles and husbands will say 3.0 miles. We both have the same IPhone 4. This just recently started.
Amazing (by Weedfff on Wed, 25 Sep 2013 20:32:00)
Honestly if you geocache and have a iPhone, Get this. Works great. VERY easy to use. You never have to type in coordinates because you can just click the "navigate cache button! Don't think twice about the price if you love geocaching!
This app is worth the $$ (by 2RiseAboveReality on Tue, 24 Sep 2013 21:57:00)
I love geocaching and this app will suit your needs. The only thing is when you have no service on your phone, it will not work because it does not use GPS, only data.
Geocaching (by PSP501 on Tue, 24 Sep 2013 14:52:00)
I was using a Garmin Etrex 20 and drove out for some caching. Once there I realized that the caches i thought i loaded were not in my GPS. Decided to download the App so that i will have access in case that happens again. It is nice and fairly easy to use. I like that you can load your pocket queries and save them in case you are out of service range. Well worth the $9.99
Fun app (by imafancypony on Tue, 24 Sep 2013 04:20:00)
Tons of fun! Worth the $ and I never ever buy apps.
One change (by navymn78 on Mon, 23 Sep 2013 11:35:00)
Love the app....only need one change, make the app sync between devices!!...love searching new caches on ipad screen while at home and use phone while out caching but after I find a cache I want I then have to put in caches name and save to my iphone...found list, logs, travel bugs...nothing syncs!! My son and I cache together and we have to add everything to each device in order to have all info

Great app... makes caching easy. Lately I have had some trouble with the accuracy of the location, but I am going to give the app the benefit of the doubt that its my phone not the app. Other than that.... excellent app.. I love it
Geocaching Family (by Lerin1024 on Mon, 16 Sep 2013 20:41:00)
We are "lesaliryanneil", family of 4. We have been geocaching for a few years now and it's such a fun thing to do together with the kids, especially the ones with "loot" or "swag"... The log only ones aren't as fun, but when it's just me and my husband, we enjoy trying to find them since they are usually smaller and harder to find! I appreciate the treasure ones so much that we always leave extra stuff in the cache! Way extra! We want it to be fun for the next person and everyone after us! Urging people to leave more tiny treasures for the kids! It can be anything small that u find around your house! Fun for all...geocaching I have enjoyed sharing with other friends and family members! Go cache and have fun! :)) lesaliryanneil :))
Revolution for a Timeless Activity (by Great MMO Game on Mon, 16 Sep 2013 18:15:00)

Easy to use some items are buried deeper, but overall I like it. Great activity with the family.
Cache options (by Edsonius on Thu, 12 Sep 2013 14:17:00)
I was skeptical at first but this app works really great. I would like to see some more options like when you find a cache in your log to review you can click on the cache number to go to the site. A track path option would be nice so you can see how you got in so you can get back out This would be incredibly handy if you have to do some bushwhacking.

Like it, just needs more for price (by Vivianna Velazquez on Mon, 09 Sep 2013 14:54:00)
This is my 1 and only app for caching. While out caching it does the job, except for excessive battery drain. I give a three because you can't work out routes as online, I hate the maps (prefer google maps), and needs notifications for new caches in your query.
Premium Member (by Cache-quatch on Mon, 09 Sep 2013 13:05:00)
Being new to geocaching, this app made it very easy to get into the game. The coordinates have been accurate and it's nice to have all the info you need, i.e. description, hints, and recent logs all on one screen. I highly recommend the app as well as upgrading to the premium membership.

Works like a Charm! (by Dedyamisha on Mon, 09 Sep 2013 01:37:00)
This app performs wonderfully. One improvement I would make is to make it possible to email to a profile owner as is required by some caches, especially Earth Caches.

Geocaching is the best and this app makes it that much better! Wish there was a way to enter new coordinates for things like multi-caches, but used in conjunction with google maps its not so bad. Definitely download this app if you're serious about geocaching!

Great app (by 41lszpjcl on Sat, 07 Sep 2013 01:50:00)
Really like the app. Have tried a hand held GPS unit and punching in the coordinates or having to access a computer and download them is a drag. The app is easy to use and I have no issues with it. It is a way to get my kids out of the house and into the outdoors. I like the sorting features as my younger boys want to find the ammo cans with all the stuff! If I know I am going to an area without an Internet connection I can do a search and save a list for off line use.

So excited after getting an iPhone to find this app for geocaching. I used to go online, take notes, go caching, then log all my finds. This has made the hobby so streamline and fun for us now. Thanks so much. The only trouble I've come across is easily logging trackables, and updating logs. Overall we love the freedom and versatility this app provides for the wonderful hobby of geocaching. We can be so impromptu now. So worth the money. Thanks.

Very useful app (by KM113 on Wed, 28 Aug 2013 23:07:00)
Overall this is a great app. It works well, rarely crashes, and is handy for on the go when I don't have the time to print out a cache description. The only thing I don't like about it is that it uses Apple maps instead of Google. Other than that, definitely worth getting.
Pretty darn good (by One Time Reviewer on Wed, 28 Aug 2013 20:41:00)
My only issues are with advanced searching; there are some odd limits not mentioned like an auto max distance from current. Also can be difficult to spec out what I want to search for. I would love to find a way to log by phone for another date, but... Oh well. Believe it or not, that's completely my only complaints. This app is pretty darn awesome!!

Very easy to use (by J's Caching Crew on Mon, 26 Aug 2013 22:01:00)
Searching, navigating, and logging all be done in the field. All cache details viewable. Very user friendly. My only complaint is the cost. $10 for the app when we've already paid for the premium membership on the website... I realize in the grand scheme of things it's not THAT much but it seems a bit overpriced.

The only Geocaching App you will need (by AndyDrum on Sun, 25 Aug 2013 18:08:00)
I started geocaching a few months ago and I've used my phone for every one. Because of the cell phone tower triangulation, sometimes I'm off and running long before other cachers get a satellite signal. Having a recent caches viewed would be nice since I rarely log then when I'm at GZ.

App good. iPhone GPS not so... (by GDTech on Sat, 24 Aug 2013 18:20:00)
The app is really good. I find it very easy to use and has a lot of nice offline features, which I use a lot. The iPhone GPS is pretty terrible. Be sure to have a backup. I tend to use the map to get a visual first, then use my handheld garmin to hone in on GZ.
My favorite addiction (by KaiserSnowse on Sat, 24 Aug 2013 17:49:00)
GPS works better in iPhone 5. The log feature on iPhone sometimes gets stuck so my logs don't post all the time. Otherwise it's great. Wish I could have more functionality for trackables in the ap though. It's tricky to follow a trackable without going to the computer.

This app is well worth the money. It makes geocaching so much easier: quick access to all hides, no paper needed and you dont have to wait to log a find. GPSr still needed for multi stage caches B-dog

Great app, relatively low price for the first time geocacher who is just getting started. Only down fall is, if you don't have service on your phone, you don't have service on your GPS. But that is not the fault of the app. Still use it when I don't have my handheld GPS readily available. Also use it to log finds and look up info. Thanks for getting me started, it is my families new hobby, we are all addicted!!!

Good as long as website is okay (by Whoa Mack on Thu, 22 Aug 2013 04:25:00)
Have used this app for about a year, no reall problems until a month ago. On a small data plan so I load a couple of pq's about once maybe twice a week. Now it will not fully load my pq's, stops at 290 out of 1000 caches...posted on the forums so far no response. Hope The issue gets resolved or I might have to go back to my hand held GPS.
BEST APP! (by FWD3 on Thu, 22 Aug 2013 02:46:00)
What can I say, I use this app every single day. Absolutely love it!!!
Great app! (by Brian in MA on Thu, 22 Aug 2013 01:57:00)
Love this app! You can just show up someplace and as long as you can connect to Internet, you can check to see what caches are close by - no pre planning required. Alternative you can plan ahead save a few to hundreds on the app using nice search features. With premium membership you can create pocket queries before you leave home - I did this on recent trip out west since I wasn't counting on reliable reception. One thing they should add is ability to change the date on logs recorded in app. Sometimes I don't have time to complete a log at time of find - I'll usually start it at time of find but go back latter to fill in details and it will only date a find on date of most recent edit of log (which makes even less sense to me than keeping the date the log was started.)
Love it! (by CupKate11 on Thu, 22 Aug 2013 00:19:00)

Easy and accurate (by Maryland RVer on Tue, 20 Aug 2013 18:24:00)
This is very intuitive and I haven't had any app error yet. I have checked accuracy against my Garmin Dakota 20 and find both hit GZ at the same point. I love how effortlessly the pocket caches I create on Geocaching.com transfer into this app automatically. A big boon to someone like me who is the antithesis of tech savvy. And I love being able to do spur of the moment caching. Well worth the cost,

Great App (by Screed92 on Sun, 18 Aug 2013 08:09:00)
I really love this app. I've been paperless caching from about 2004 but I've been out of it for quite a while. This app makes it very easy. At this point, there's only one thing I would change. In the navigation page, on the map, the app should support routing instead of just the straight line. It would keep me from having to switch from this app to other mapping apps so I can get a road route to a location somewhat close to where the cache is. Of course, I could be doing something wrong so if anyone knows that there is a way to do this, I would love to have the information.

It's getting better with each update (by Sir Jossie on Sat, 17 Aug 2013 05:16:00)
but it still eats your battery very fast during geocaching. It's strongly recommended to have additional source of power when out in the field with this app. The app itself - very stable, good intuitive looking. The only one thing I would add are additional marks on cache pointers on maps when your didn't or couldn't find it (right now there is are only smiling faces if you found it). Without it - it's confusing to use the map sometimes when there are too many sloppy caches in one neighborhood.

The best ap around! (by Ypsimom on Thu, 15 Aug 2013 23:25:00)
This ap has really turned geocaching on for us! We were using a hand held device that we would plug in GPS coords from the website. It worked but it was not completely effective. With this ap I have everything right there!! No typing of coords and no typos! Plus the ap works with apple maps to help me get to the cache starting point/parking spot. When we are on the hunt it is sometimes helpful to check the clue and recent logs when finding GZ is troublesome. Adding a picture to my log is so simple too! And I don't have to wait until I get home to record my found it!! Typically I do this right after returning to my car while to kids get drinks and warm up or cool off. The bottom line is, while this ap does come with a price tag is is soooo worth it!! Plus it would actually save money if you don't already have a GPS device! Buy this ap you're gunna love it!!
Buggy (by AllegrettoNC on Thu, 15 Aug 2013 23:12:00)
Having a terrible time downloading my Pocket Queries. App keeps showing message "Uh-oh. There was a problem connecting to the Geocaching servers."
8legs0tails (by JAKE1031 on Thu, 15 Aug 2013 23:10:00)
This is a great app in that I do not have to download geocaches from the pc. I can access caches from wherever I am at the time. The coords are not as accurate as they need to be however. I have used only the app on my iPhone for geocaching for 6 months and it is easier than wea dedicated GPS device. The touch screen is a real plus.
MAN !!!! I LOVE THIS APP !! (by Rumrunner46 on Thu, 15 Aug 2013 19:49:00)
I use this app probably 95% of the time the other 5% is my GPS when I'm out of range of a cell tower.

Needing help (by Bluejean-baby on Thu, 15 Aug 2013 12:02:00)
This a great idea to do, gets people out to enjoy the weather, hunt, site seeing, time spent together. Logging in as found it-is easy, but I do have a bit of problem as logging dropping into another cache or mine. I'm a beginner, and I want to do it correctly. I am having someone to show me how to log drop a trackable, etc. because I messed up on my first one and they had to correct it for me.
Awesome app (by ArmyWife68 on Thu, 15 Aug 2013 11:00:00)
I love this app and probably use it every day. It would be nice to be able to change the date while logging, because I live in a completely different time zone than the app thinks.
Geocaching (by AK7288 on Thu, 15 Aug 2013 07:31:00)
Terribly addictive fun for the whole family. With this app I do not need to take my GPS every where I go to enjoy caching. Works great when traveling. It has made us see sights that we usually just pass by.
Need a change the date (by Birdingbeth on Thu, 15 Aug 2013 03:58:00)
Love the app. Never use my gps anymore the app is much easier. Do wish you could change the date especially when you save for off line use it could be a couple of days after you find before you can submit the log.
Worst update ever! (by Pasto Pasto on Thu, 15 Aug 2013 03:02:00)
For some reason this app is getting messier and cra***er with every update. Now you can't send field notes and if you found a cache and decide to edit and post it later, you can't change the date. Loved when we had the ability to send field notes and get rid of those caches even if they were sent as field notes only. Also the lack of Wherigo is frustrating, it's time to add cartridge support.
OMG, IS THIS FUN! (by SsslickChick on Thu, 15 Aug 2013 00:40:00)

Now I look for geocaches everywhere! You can still go geocaching even when you don't have an ordinary bulky gps with you. It's exciting to show friends how close the nearest geocache is. They're always surprised with how close they all are! Version 6.1 is better than ever! Love this app!

GEO-OBSESSED! (by JordanG91 on Wed, 14 Aug 2013 06:17:00)
Any of the following peak your interest: 1. Outdoor Recreation 2. Family-Friendly Fun 3. Mystery & Intrigue 4. Awesome Community of New Friends 5. Learning about history and so much more through! If so, than Geocaching may be worth a try. I love it, and the simplicity of this application makes it easy and enjoyable! The only additions I would make to this involve a calendar button when logging- allowing for past caches to be logged on actual date found- and a customizable color scheme of the cachers choice. The application may be pretty expensive and if you get hooked the premium is even more, but they're are both a TERRIFIC buy that will provide hour upon hour of healthy entertainment!!!

Only change on the new version is the look of the main screen, disappointing. Still (by Tginc on Sun, 11 Aug 2013 15:50:00)
The updates seem to make this app worse. The app either crashes or says Network Not Available. Still waiting for an "all visited" button for TBs so I don't have to continuously edit my logs from the home PC - a feature on the online program so why not on the app!?! Switching to a different geocaching app with better functionality.
Love it! (by Vomer11 on Sun, 11 Aug 2013 15:11:00)
Makes Geo-caching so easy and available at any moment. Could use a date option for caches that require emails sent and approved prior to logging. Otherwise great app!

Goed, maar een minpuntje (by Rico The Wrath on Fri, 09 Aug 2013 15:35:00)

iPhone version = 5 / iPad = 3. Please make iPad/tablet version! (by Alfaracer72 on Thu, 08 Aug 2013 16:32:00)
Love the iPhone app; it's all you really need while you're in the field (as long as you have cell service) and with enough planning the "saved" list helps if you don't. For those of us with iPads or other tablets, the phone version on an iPad is sadly lacking. Some functions aren't there, and others don't work well, and the overall look of the app "stretched" to 2x isn't appealing, plus it's only 2/3 the size of the screen. Also on my iPad (1st gen, iOS 5) I will often select "View on geocaching.com" to select the "view larger map" function. On the iPad, viewing this larger map with the cache icons, tapping the icons will display the "bubble summary" for the first cache you select, but won't do more than one. It makes doing longhand research difficult if you're in an area where you don't have an Internet connection to a laptop. I realize it's probably a software nightmare, but perhaps that bug could be worked out in an iPad version. Thanks for stretching our capabilities beyond what's available on our gps'rs while in the field. It makes "spur of the moment" caching possible. Keep up the good work! Cache on, Towanalfa
Great app (by gjhimages on Thu, 08 Aug 2013 04:01:00)
I use this app even though I have a GPS. You can check the latest entries about cache, that were not downloaded on the GPS. Also download older entries that your GPS might not have. You can make your own queries on the fly. Worth the money.

I truly appreciate being able to look up nearby caches. Being able to log the caches as I go is very nice too!

LOVE IT!!! Would like to add "watch list" (by Kmpurnell on Wed, 07 Aug 2013 17:59:00)
I love this app. A friend bought it for me as a graduation gift because I was too "cheap" to buy it myself. It really is worth the money!! I love it!!! The only comment I would add for an improvement is to have a link where you can add a geocache to your "watch list". When I log a DNF, I always put it on my watch list so I can learn about it and stop later.... I always have to go back to the computer to add caches to my watch list. It would be great if the app had that option. Other than that...I LOVE IT!
Fantastic (by 5abc5 on Wed, 07 Aug 2013 17:11:00)

A fantastic hobby needs a fantastic app (by PhoenixFan! on Wed, 07 Aug 2013 02:54:00)
Geocaching is absolutely my favorite hobby! I could not do it without this app. Stop being a "muggle" and start caching.
Love this app! (by stampinljz on Wed, 07 Aug 2013 02:11:00)
My friend and I have been taking 6 kids (ages range from 15-6) geocaching for the past 2 days. Love this app. We started with the intro app and quickly switched to the upgrade. This is more thorough as far as picking up all caches in the area. Easy to use- letting the kids navigate. Fun for all ages. (Just don't tell the kids they are learning, getting fresh air, exercising, etc.)
Excellent ! (by Vcbc on Wed, 07 Aug 2013 01:09:00)

Revolutionary (by Korben1818 on Wed, 07 Aug 2013 00:31:00)
Anyone who ever geocached using "old fashioned" GPS methods will surely agree that the app makes the game much more enjoyable.
Well worth the money! (by Adam5151 on Tue, 06 Aug 2013 23:33:00)
I love love love this app! My kids and I have become total geocache nerds. Was the highlight of our vacation and now we love using it to fill time wherever we are. I never pay for apps, but this one is more than worth the cost.
Super Fun! (by Packratsdream on Tue, 06 Aug 2013 23:26:00)
A lot easier than downloading them to a GPS unit. Maybe add a function to make a drop. Unless I am missing something.....
Yay (by AshBang on Tue, 06 Aug 2013 23:22:00)

Awesome (by Firefairy123 on Tue, 06 Aug 2013 23:01:00)
Best app on the iPhone for geocaching
Decent app (by Amigone2002 on Tue, 06 Aug 2013 22:56:00)
Works great, very easy to use. Would love to see add on the ability to set destination/input coordinates for when you are doing mystery caches
Excellent app (by Politicablue on Tue, 06 Aug 2013 20:53:00)
Makes geocaching anywhere a breeze. Does drain the phone battery, of course, but that's not the fault of the app. Wish it let you adjust the dates on logs to make entering older finds more accurate.
