Cleartune - Chromatic Tuner Review
Release Date: August 11, 2008
Perfect (by Martydoo64 on Wed, 20 Aug 2014 20:27:00)
The one app that will never be deleted from my phone.
Just what I was looking for! (by LeeAnn Ferrell on Tue, 05 Aug 2014 04:11:00)
Using it to tune my Saxaphone. Works great.
Amazing at first. Then...... (by cubanchinagirl on Tue, 29 Jul 2014 13:41:00)
I got this app about 2-3 years ago. It was working great. Up until about last year. I erase it then re-download it. But it won't work. So ya. I'm not sure if I really recommend it. Maybe of you only need it for like a while. But not for long time use.
Ok, but not great really (by Kdapple..' on Tue, 29 Jul 2014 01:34:00)
Nice tuner.... Sometimes. Sometimes it's stable, but all too often it gyrates wildly trying to figure out what tone it's hearing, as opposed to other tuners which never seem to have this crazy problem. Otherwise nice aesthetic UI, and the chromatic wheel tuner is nice and easy to read. Great for just wanting to know what note a sound is, like for singing. Just wish the dev could fix the instability issues which keep cropping up too often for me.
Great (by Misterlion on Sun, 27 Jul 2014 04:02:00)
I use this to tune my harp all the time. Multiply 40 strings times 3 times a week and you'll get how much time I spend with this app. For those that complain about spinning, there are needle damping options which settle the sensitivity....an issue I only find in the higher octaves.
Great work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (by Annkla on Sun, 06 Jul 2014 00:16:00)
I play the cello, guitar, and piano so this helps a lot when I'm on stage. I recommend this to everyone even though it costs money it is worth it.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!
Great (by Steve8641 on Tue, 01 Jul 2014 19:45:00)
The only tuning app you'll ever need
ukelele (by Bobby blue bud on Sun, 29 Jun 2014 01:38:00)
this sucked. I tried this out on my brand new ukelele, along with another tune app. none seem to be working. I don't know how to do this, and it has been extremely frustrating. I've spent $7 and it's SO ANNOYING.
Stopped working (by Ecello on Fri, 20 Jun 2014 20:13:00)
The clear tune app has completely stopped working on my ipad 2. It crashes as soon as it hears an open string on the cello. It used to work great.
Poor product (by Zarr007 on Tue, 03 Jun 2014 13:15:00)
Cannot function with pianos, particularly the first two octaves in the bass—tuner does not even correctly identify the notes in this range.
Cleartune Rocks (by ELOYHERE on Sat, 24 May 2014 22:26:00)
This app truly has all of the features that I would ever want to use in an app like this. Great updates since the new version came out.
Must have tuner. (by bro_bear on Thu, 22 May 2014 04:02:00)
I use it all the time to tune my Banjo and Mandolin.
It happy at all (by 99magred on Sun, 18 May 2014 20:42:00)
This doesn't work with an iPhone 5 running iOS 7.1.1 using the plain iRig. Sorry I wasted the $4.
This app is a flop (by Musclebiker on Tue, 06 May 2014 06:05:00)
This app gets the letter of the pitch right, but cannot tell what octave you're in. For example, it reads exactly the same for all "A"s above middle C: A-440 us correct, A-880 is correct, A-1760 reads as A-880, as do all others above that. What a waste if money! DO NOT BUY.
Was great until newest version. (by Starsandpowerlines on Fri, 25 Apr 2014 04:49:00)
App does not load correctly, freezes when pressing the power button in app and then crashes out. Tried soft reset to no avail. On iOS 7.1.1, but did not work on previous version before OTA update.
Tunes flat.... (by tbdbitl on Wed, 23 Apr 2014 19:34:00)
I have had this app for several releases and phones, and have been happy with it until lately. I upgraded my iPhone to a 5S, and now it seems to tune my Tuba about 10 cents flat. I thought maybe it was me, so I tried it with some friends, and with the band I play in, and it still registers flat. Would be nice if the app could play back a pitch that was reported to be in tune.....
The tuner that is always with you. (by SpunkyDiva on Sun, 13 Apr 2014 12:58:00)
This is my primary tuner. Love that is always with me. Works fine with the violin. Have also used it to tune a guitar occasionally.
Best Tuner Ever (by -odjbo- on Fri, 04 Apr 2014 19:29:00)
Love it and use it every day.
Flawless (by Jacksonwalker on Mon, 24 Mar 2014 18:08:00)
I've used this tuner for my D10 Washburn on an iPad 2. Perfect tune. Every time.
Love it (by Pig_ on Wed, 12 Mar 2014 04:00:00)
I use it to tune all my stringed instruments, including a hammered dulcimer with 72 strings.
A++++++ (by Rectiliner on Fri, 14 Feb 2014 02:20:00)
Great app. I use it tune sensitive middle eastern enstruments.
IOS 7 fix (by Ghkkihvfffcghunb on Tue, 04 Feb 2014 20:39:00)
If it doesn't work on your device with iOS 7, got to settings>privacy>microphone, and turn cleartune microphone on. Works perfectly.
Fantastic ! (by AlexanderTudor on Sun, 02 Feb 2014 04:39:00)
Great find, thanks to Gryphon Palo Alto!
Its ok (by luv2bmommyto5 on Fri, 31 Jan 2014 17:05:00)
It worked fine fir a few months. Then it just froze now it won't let me tune
Great app, but... (by Bookworm3451 on Mon, 20 Jan 2014 22:50:00)
This app hasn't been working since I got an iPhone 5C (hence an OS upgrade). I tried everything to get it to work, and finally tonight I found their Facebook page and the solution. Why isn't it posted here?? It's a great app, but this info should be posted clearly in the app description here. Next, the developers should work on a port of the old application called "Intonation Trainer"--a great program that was marketed incorrectly that I found indispensable for teaching students how to tune chords and intervals and to make an intonation map when evaluating new horns. I think these guys could make a really elegant version. If they edit this page, I will happily add that final star….
Amazing 😘 (by Mike.1368 on Fri, 10 Jan 2014 16:53:00)
This app is just .... Oh man .... It's cool, it's amazing, but guys make an iOS7 icon for it ... and, Thank's a lot ...

Not working (by dgmarquez on Sun, 05 Jan 2014 20:20:00)
The app stopped working since last update. It used to work real well.
Best tuner (by RegP on Tue, 31 Dec 2013 16:37:00)
I use to travel with a tuner. Now, I only need my cell phone. ClearTune is the best tuner! It can be calibrated, show the frequency, change the wave form (sine wave is suggested)... ClearTune will keep you in tune! No excuses. Yes, it's worth the money!
Best (by Austin Metzger on Tue, 31 Dec 2013 15:17:00)
Only wish it wasn't 10MB
Git er tuned in (by Gdrdunn on Sun, 29 Dec 2013 02:42:00)
I use this at least once a day sometimes twice. I've never had any problems with it it works great!!
Really good! (by #1LADYGAGAFANINTHEWORLD!!! on Sun, 15 Dec 2013 13:12:00)
I use this app all the time to tune my flute and it also helps me with my pitch. It's worth the price
Love it (by ljd5678 on Fri, 13 Dec 2013 14:44:00)
It's my go-to tuner - everyone in my string quartet either uses this app on their phone or borrows mine :)
Perfect (by Tyler112989 on Mon, 09 Dec 2013 04:50:00)
Perfect.... Literally perfect.
Awesome (by Dandypony on Sat, 07 Dec 2013 20:11:00)
This tuner works great. I use it for my trombone and guitar. But a lot of people in my high school band use it to. I love it
Works! (by Ro d on Sat, 07 Dec 2013 09:14:00)
Tunes without a problem. Easy to use
Outstanding Tuner (by Websquad on Fri, 29 Nov 2013 17:40:00)
This makes tuning my harpsichord relatively simple. I especially like the pointer that turns green when you are just a few cents away, and the feature that keeps the tool running for the whole tuning session, so you don't have to keep swiping the iPad screen to keep the device from going to sleep. Outstanding!
not just best app tuner - best TUNER you can get (by pwpwpwpw on Wed, 20 Nov 2013 20:29:00)
This tuner out performs every tuner I've ever used. Better than a stomp box tuner, better than a rack mount tuner, better than a waves plug in tuner. And that's just the "tuning" part. The features are crazy and actually useful. Guitar mode is incredible. This is indispensable for recording sessions, live performance…really anything where being in tune really matters. But the fact that this is an app that you always have in your pocket makes it even better. Can't give enough stars.
One of the Best Tuners Ever!! (by JimEbass on Sat, 16 Nov 2013 13:33:00)
I have bought many stand alone tuners over the years. This tuner has replaced all those tuners with ease. I may never go back to a traditional tuner again!!
Amazing (by Xophe the boss on Fri, 15 Nov 2013 03:55:00)
Wow was sitting in the office where I had my guitar delivered and this is just awesome. Super easy, gave me a lot of confidence in tuning (I've snapped a string before so I've been traumatized).
Best tuner I've ever used. (by Summer Dregs on Tue, 05 Nov 2013 00:03:00)
And that includes standalone units. And I when I say 'best', I do not mean it is the tuner with the most features (though this one does have tons of features), but simplest and easy to use. Also functions as a pitch pipe, playing any note.
Execellent (by Jesusrocks,993 on Fri, 01 Nov 2013 21:24:00)
Simple, easy-to-use and accurate
Fantastic! Really useful :D (by A High School Band Student on Thu, 31 Oct 2013 17:07:00)
I find that this tuner is very accurate for my trumpet, and the options make it very easy to switch from tuning my trumpet, to tuning my bass for jazz band. Or my guitar when I'm at home. It has plenty of other options I should know how to use, but I really don't, know... Tons of useful stuff for anyone who does know though!!!
Os7-ipad mini-no go (by smpaudio on Tue, 29 Oct 2013 03:43:00)
Doesn't appear to work on ipad mini with os7. Really used to love this app.
Doesn't work on iPhone 5? (by Yfbjff on Sat, 26 Oct 2013 13:41:00)
Ever since I got My new iPhone this app hAsnt worked At all...
Stopped working on iPhone 5 (by pickled4589 on Sat, 26 Oct 2013 02:14:00)
Doesn't detect the notes since the new ios 7.0.2 update
Does not work on iPhone 5S (by Alison Barrack on Fri, 11 Oct 2013 14:04:00)
I deleted and reinstalled and the app does not work on the 5S. It worked fine on the 5.
The only iOS Tuber I would ever use. (by Crate nickname on Tue, 08 Oct 2013 00:43:00)
This as been my go to app since it's release. I always look for better tuners and haven't found a better one.
Disappointing (by Joseph Walsh on Sat, 05 Oct 2013 17:33:00)
Beautifully designed program that is impossible to use (at least for guitar). The needle swings wildly from sharp to flat and never settles on "green" long enough to determine if a string is ever in tune. Maddening.
A great tuner (by LSA2013 on Wed, 02 Oct 2013 13:38:00)
I have had no problems with the tuner, and our band director used it for about 3 years until he wanted a more feature-filled app. (I don't blame him considering that he used his phone to tune, record, and act as a metronome.) As a bassist, sometimes it's hard for me to tell when I'm out of tune, especially on the E string. I have always gotten it down to a T when tuning using this. For guitar and bass players (maybe all string instruments?), my other strings tend to ring out when I tune, and that causes the app to spin pretty badly. As long as all my other strings are muted, it works fine. For those rating it very lowly because it's not working: Have you tried using another person's phone/iPod? I watched a friend of mine use this to tune a piano and his trumpet.
Cleartune - Chromatic Tuner Review from 51th to 100th
Does not work in iOS 7 (by Gerwagner55 on Tue, 24 Sep 2013 12:21:00)
Ever since I updated to iOS 7 this app does not work. I really liked it was my primary tuner before that. So I'm very disappointed.
Best tuner!!!! (by Manny Trinidad on Mon, 23 Sep 2013 15:24:00)
This is the best tuner i've used! Customer service is great also! I used to use the Boss pedal chromatic tuner, excellent also, but now i'll sell it because this tuner is vert precise too. With the iRig, i need nothing more.
Love this tuner (by BigD8234 on Wed, 04 Sep 2013 20:39:00)
I have two tuners that I just bought this one and a 30$ tuner for my guitar. Well after using both I haven't touched my 30$ tuner, I use this for every instrument I own guitar, trumpet, trombone, and tuba and I never plan to look back if you need a tuner this is a great app that I would advise over many store bought tuners. Plus this is equipped with your phone so it's just one less item to carry around with all your band equipment. So all in all I advise this app very precise and usefulo
Get this (by dustinwassoon on Wed, 28 Aug 2013 07:11:00)
This is the best tuning app I have ever used; I bought many before clear tune. It can be super simple or very complex depending on what you need, full customization of temperament which is a big deal for major musicians
Great tuner and price! (by Endure All on Thu, 22 Aug 2013 02:39:00)
Very accurate and responsive. Worth paying for.
Hooray! (by Ejmusician on Sun, 11 Aug 2013 21:28:00)
Finally, a tuner app that works for classical musicians! So many of the most popular tuner applications are for guitarists, so it was really refreshing to find this one. I love the ability to choose key and notation system and adjust the calibration of the tuning pitch. All though I don't do much historical performance, those who do will appreciate the wide array of different temperaments to choose from. The only thing I wish this app had was a better background noise dampener for use during orchestra warm up.
Best tuner app! (by NCGolfer on Wed, 07 Aug 2013 20:14:00)
I use a number of electronic guitar tuners and have tried many guitar tuner apps. This one is the best. The app is very easy to use and tuning is very precise. My guitars sound better when I use this tuner. Highly recommended!!
Love it (by Swamproot on Fri, 02 Aug 2013 20:21:00)
I found this to be pretty handy. I like to turn the tone generator up to about 14k where I can't hear it, but it drives the young whippersnappers crazy.
Pretty good (by Bob Celestvez on Thu, 25 Jul 2013 03:02:00)
I like it very useful but.....................................……………........................ I like dots. ^^^^^^
Awesome (by C Fantini on Mon, 15 Jul 2013 20:07:00)
This app is fantastic. I easily tuned my piano with this Tuner. I love it. I highly recommend it.
Cleartune🎻🎼🎶 (by Violin 4 on Sat, 13 Jul 2013 14:16:00)
Okay for tuning the open strings on my violin, although it is not able to tune my open E spring. Half of the regular notes are incorrectly tuned, especially third finger and sometimes second finger. Not impressed.
A must have for any musician! (by C. Riggs on Sun, 16 Jun 2013 07:43:00)
This is without a doubt one of the most useful apps I own. Well worth every penny. It's nothing I would use live, of course, but for practice or just sitting around the house jamming it's perfect. It's precise and works well with any instrument, acoustic or electric. It does seem to have a bit of trouble finding the lower notes like the open E and B string on my basses, but that issue is easily remedied by using harmonic at the twelfth fret of those strings. I highly recommend this app!
Worth Every Penny (by AdamBCE on Thu, 13 Jun 2013 22:52:00)
I lost my guitar tuner so I got this app until I found it or got a new one. I was very pleasantly surprised with the quality of this tuner and now I'll never go back!
Amazing! (by Werner Bros. on Wed, 12 Jun 2013 16:15:00)
This app I could go on and on about how good this app is for tuning. I am a violinist and this app helps tune to the finest sound you can make on you instrument. When I want to tune to a certain string I can lock it onto a certain string and and look at the top of the screen to tune it perfectly. This is a great app and is better than all of my handheld tuners combined!
Awesome! (by Alternair on Wed, 05 Jun 2013 00:47:00)
Just what I wanted. I have several stringed instruments that have various non-guitar tuning. This tuner is perfect.
Cleartune (by Dis my name on Mon, 27 May 2013 14:47:00)
From the gauge, I would guess this is more precise than a standard chromatic tuner, but I haven't tested them side by side. Very convenient for travel. - iPhone 4s running iOS 6.1.3
Great app (by Rmal59 on Thu, 23 May 2013 01:15:00)
Accurate. Simple. Fantastic.
THE BEST TUNER!!! (by MacTombo on Tue, 14 May 2013 16:59:00)
Anyone needing a REALLY good tuner needed look no further!! This one has all the functions and options required to tune any instrument with speed and great accuracy. I've been using the app for about 2-years and figured I should this app the kudos it has earned in real world use!!
No flip (by TubadaveBBb on Thu, 02 May 2013 18:20:00)
Great tuner, but still won't flip over when I put the mic up to 'hear' my horn clearly. Have to read it upside down. Used to flip over fine. Now it won't.
Fantastic tuner (by Worknpro on Sun, 21 Apr 2013 23:35:00)
Best tuner I own.... hands down! Get it!
Works great! (by DeltaForce85 on Fri, 19 Apr 2013 18:49:00)
This app is a life saver. It is extremely accurate. We have several tuners lying around but I always reach for my phone. I have tuned every guitar I own from acoustics to bass guitars and never had a problem with a note registering. I plug the guitar into my phone when tuning. I have used the iPhone built in mic before and it worked fine as well. Those complaining about certain notes or frequencies not picking up can blame the mic not the app. If you are having an issue like this, try moving the soundhole itself closer to the mic.
This is a great tuner! (by __________________________________________ on Thu, 11 Apr 2013 01:16:00)
Totally worth the money!!
My favorite app (by Streetfashionista on Thu, 04 Apr 2013 07:05:00)
I've used this app since it was first released. I've had many guitar tuners over the years (from cheap ones to very expensive ones)...but this is by far my favorite! Definitely recommend!
Great app! Very stable and easy to use (by WenQing Yang on Thu, 28 Mar 2013 03:50:00)
Great app! Very stable and easy to use! Highly recommended! Thank you.
Thank you! (by J9 the violist on Sun, 17 Mar 2013 03:50:00)
I am a string teacher and I use this app daily to tune my students. Only flaw is that it can not read an open E string on the double bass (both iPhone and iPad editions), but it works when I play the harmonic. My students think its the coolest thing ever. :)
Great app (by WMR22 on Sun, 17 Mar 2013 01:33:00)
Very cool, works great and worth 4 bucks, just as useful as my flashlight app but will use it way more-
Good App (by Locs 1 on Fri, 15 Mar 2013 05:29:00)
Works great and is very handy
Doesn't work properly!! (by Bcworship leader on Wed, 13 Mar 2013 14:18:00)
This tuner is worthless...it will not properly tune the G string on an acoustic guitar. I don't understand how it is properly calibrated for all other strings, but not the G string. I've played guitar for over 20 yrs, and I want to like this tuner, but it simply doesn't work properly. How do its makers not know about this flaw?
Great app... (by 2010eangel on Wed, 27 Feb 2013 12:45:00)
Love it for my sax & trumpet.
Best tuner app ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (by Unsc leader on Tue, 19 Feb 2013 21:46:00)

This app is great for my clarinet my band teacher likes it too
My main tuner (by The Kirn on Thu, 07 Feb 2013 17:32:00)
Been using this app for a couple years and its still the best tuner I own. Gorgeous, precise, essential.
Best tuner out there (by Obama 911 on Fri, 01 Feb 2013 17:00:00)
I spent a long time looking and this is the best.
Better than my $100 tuner (by Jcontassotk on Wed, 30 Jan 2013 11:19:00)
I use this app for my 47 string harp, it's so much better than my Korg tuner. This has changed my life!!! Ok, maybe it hasn't changed my life, but it is indispensable. I love it.
Very impressed (by Chaba 32 on Sun, 27 Jan 2013 19:14:00)
Got to a gig without a tuner available ....downloaded this lickety split and wow! I just sat it on top of my bass amp. Perfect for my needs.
Ok, but not great really (by Kdapple..' on Tue, 22 Jan 2013 03:12:00)
Nice tuner.... Sometimes. Sometimes it's stable, but all too often it gyrates wildly trying to figure out what tone it's hearing, as opposed to another tuner I have. (String tuner) Anyway other than that , it at least has a full pitch wheel. And I love the full wheel. Shows you exactly where you are as you go up and down octaves, for example while singing. Again on a bad note, I notice it also freezes up a lot, besides often not being stable.
A Wonderful Tuner App (by Pop-O Mark on Tue, 15 Jan 2013 22:54:00)
What a great app! It is precise when checked against my tuning fork. I use it for guitar and sax. Other brass and woodwind bandmates have appreciated me having it on hand when we argue about who is the one out of tune. Highly recommended!!
Perfect (by fortysix2 on Tue, 15 Jan 2013 20:58:00)
Best tuner I've tried on the App Store and I've tried several. It's actually a better tuner than buying a totally separate electronic tuner at a music store. Nice app.
Supports multiple temperaments (by Godlike Reviewer on Sun, 13 Jan 2013 02:33:00)
I play a Baroque instrument and it is great having werckmeister as an option.
Precise. (by Charles Ferris on Mon, 07 Jan 2013 22:00:00)
probably the best portable yuner i've found for trumpet. Very precise. Different tuning options which is great if working with strings, etc. Since the recent upgrade, the screen is not rotating. 5stars because i'm counting on that getting fixed.
Don't like it. (by CATesmile on Mon, 07 Jan 2013 12:19:00)
I have had this app since I first got my iPhone, maybe 4 yrs ago. I have never been able to get it to work reliably. The only reason why I don't delete it is because I paid for it, but this is about to change. This tuner is either so fussy that you can't get a good reading or it fails to function at all. I'll stick with my Korg.
No better than a free one (by Alaska Piper on Sun, 06 Jan 2013 15:26:00)
Won't tune pianos or accordions, because it can't even figure out which of the lower notes are being played. Just get a free tuner instead, since the instruments that use the fancy temperaments this tuner features can't be tuned with it. Works fine with guitars etc, but so do free tuners. I imagine that the limitation has to do with the device hardware.
Essential (by SteveH20s on Sun, 06 Jan 2013 04:23:00)
The best and most accurate tuner for any instrument and tuning temperament. My most used app as a music teacher!
Too basic (by IT Spec Bob on Thu, 27 Dec 2012 16:45:00)
Works but is a bit basic. Only point for me to use an app like this would be to have open tuning presets and such which this app does not offer. I'll stick to my Korg Digital Tuner for now
Great (by With every breath we sing on Thu, 27 Dec 2012 15:00:00)
I just brought it, I got my acoustic yesterday and it works great. I had to tune it some and now it is on fire!! It sounds great get it even if ur a beginner or a experience I use this a lot..
Excellent (by Icantthinkofanamesoheresthis on Thu, 27 Dec 2012 01:13:00)
More accurate than my dedicated tuner. Very impressive.
Check your bill (by Honest Egg on Sun, 23 Dec 2012 16:40:00)
Good tuner... Was charged $3.99 for the free version. Not a very upfront way to do business. Not accusing anyone of Dishonesty or False Advertising... Just sayin watch your bill!!
Best tuner I've used. (by Jeff and Rachel Williams on Fri, 14 Dec 2012 13:25:00)
I am a guitar teacher and I use this all the time. It works very well. It doesn't jump around like a lot of other tuners do. Gets you perfectly in tune, and I mean perfectly in tune. It's very easy to use. Although recently the orientation quit working. So if I turn my phone upside down it is upside down too. It use to stay upright all the time.
Perfect (by OMGitsLogan on Thu, 13 Dec 2012 05:11:00)
Perfect tuning every time, hands down best tuner on the App Store.
The best (by Mountaintosound on Sat, 08 Dec 2012 15:35:00)
I've tried several of these and this is, hands down, the best option out there in terms of ease of interface and sensitivity.
Cleartune - Chromatic Tuner Review from 101th to 150th
Great visual and aural ear training aid (by rwkhartwell on Tue, 04 Dec 2012 10:52:00)
Use this and the iPad version. iPad Great for tuning up big bands the trumpets can see the green mark easily from the back row.
Great with an iRig (by Msh161297 on Wed, 28 Nov 2012 10:25:00)
This tuner works great with the phones built in mic on an acoustic guitar. It works ok on an unplugged electric if you hold it really close to the strings, but for electric it really shines when connected through an iRig(I'm sure other similar adapters work fine too). I've used this on iPhone 4, iPad 2, and iPhone 5. My main use is still on my old iPhone 4 which I keep around as a beater for just this type of use. I'm guessing this would have worked fine on my 3G while I still had it if I hadn't killed its usefulness by installing iOS 4 on it which slowed it to a crawl.
Fast, smooth and accurate (by moist customer on Thu, 22 Nov 2012 22:38:00)
It is very flexible and uses the microphones to isolate the sound of the instrument. It quickly switches between notes and is easy to use. Works great for a banjo, acoustic and electric guitars. Works better than cheap stand-alone tuners
Love this app (by Jello shot7 on Thu, 22 Nov 2012 17:38:00)
I play the cello and well it works and it's awesome, I would recommend it for anyone. The ONLY thing was that I wanted to use a G as a drone because I was playing something in G Major so I turned on the G to the loudest volume setting on my iPhone and after it damaged my speaker and now my speaker is basically broken, so I would recommend not putting the volume all the way up if you want to use the tuner as a drone, either that or use other headphones or heavy duty speakers if you want to use a note as a drone.
Horrible (by BENTECH3 on Sat, 17 Nov 2012 19:09:00)
I used this for my electric gutar and it didnot work and lagged way out of proportion. I have the iPhone 4
Going strong (by Rob in Miami on Mon, 12 Nov 2012 17:36:00)
I first got this app in 2009 and it has been my most dependable app since. This is the tuner you want

Great Tuner! (by MMKTN on Tue, 06 Nov 2012 20:12:00)
I know that this tuner was designed especially for guitar's however, I use for my clarinet an works like a charm.
Pretty good app, but (by CAnnieCruz on Sun, 04 Nov 2012 03:20:00)
This app does better than other tuning apps, but it sometimes loses the note from my viola if I'm not exactly in tune. It will spin around on notes that are not even close to what I'm playing. Also, I want to have my metronome on my bluetooth headphones, while practicing my scales and pieces so this app won't hear the metronome sound, but when I open ClearTune, it sends the metronome sound to my iPhone5's external speakers - which is bad.
Surprising ever time I use it! (by JoshFerrara on Tue, 30 Oct 2012 03:44:00)
It really is so good at what it does. You won't find a better tuner in the App Store!
Best Tuner I've Found (by Motchel on Wed, 12 Dec 2012 06:59:00)
Hands down, the best digital tuner I've ever used. Looks good, simple, easy to read, with a phenomenal sample rate..plus more options than you probably know what to do with. I love how I can even tune in non-even temperament. This app is more accurate and reliable than some $20 stand-alone tuners. Well worth the price, especially since you always have your phone on you. Looks even better on the iPad. Good job, developers. Thank you. :)
Fabulous (by Artpopart on Thu, 22 Nov 2012 16:11:00)
This app is fantastic. Easy to see and read pitch. Love the oldskool look. Even works on electric guitar unplugged. Just rest phone on guitar body.
Love it (by Earth Derf on Tue, 20 Nov 2012 13:00:00)
Have had app for a year and love it. Works perfect. Faster and easier than my actual tuner I have. Great job.
